His notion about the LS is incorrect too. The LS has more Pontiac in it than chevy or Ford.

You do realize " cool " is completely subjective, right? What you think is cool, may be ghey AF to someone else, and vice versa. That doesn't mean someone isn't a " true car guy ". It means they have different taste than you.

@bdd1469 highest hp 2J with a stock block was 1017hp. A million 900hp examples roaming the streets. That's "cool" for any true gearhead. You can easily turn your nose up at the wrong Supra and it'll be over before it even starts. As a drag racer I think anything with a motor is cool even if I don't wanna own it. I'd question any car guy who understands what the 2J can do without ever taking the head off and still doesn't think it's cool. Some people say they're "car guys" when they're really fan boys of only 1 thing. Cheers. 🚗💨

I'm a Chevy guy thru and thru and have been for over fifty years. With that being said, you can't hate on a 2JZ. They are an incredible engine.
In all honesty, they're really just a vessel for a good turbo. On their own they're not much to write home about. It's kind of like saying tortilla chips are incredible because of how good nachos can be.

I have a TKX on my shop floor waiting for me to put it in my 65 GTO. So far its the only manual transmission I have that will hold up to my 455s. Can't wait until the snow is gone so I can drive my cool stuff again.

I think a true car guy is interested in everything car related (Drag racing, American muscle, classics, late models, imports, off-road, low-riders, Truck scene, Jeeps, Etc). There are so many unique skill sets involved in all of these different genres but there is a common skill set also. IMO, branching out into the other genres will help your channel grow immensely and also broaden your knowledge. Keep up the variety and watch your future grow along with Wyatt

Love the 2jz content. Something different isn't always bad. Keep up the great content guys, either it's a junkyard ls, sbc, sbf, or a 2jz, I'll still be a faithful SRC watcher.
I love any engine that has 6 cylinders and up. I like my small block chevys, big blocks, LS's. But there's no denying that a 2J high on boost at 8500+RPM is music to the ears. I've always looked at the MK4 Supra as Japan's attempt at a modern-day muscle car, RWD, long, wide, low, beast in a straight line. They did alright imo 🤷♂️

Shim and bucket adjustment can be a pain in the ass. At least it's not little button shims. I personally don't care how many cylinders or it's make is.
Years ago I had a DSM powered Plymouth. A little 4 banger that had 750hp . Made me rethink technology and pushrod motors .

Bucko is right about a 292 inline6. They're Torque Monsters man. Ive seen a twin turbo 292 that was absolutely wicked. My cousin built one out of a dump truck and put it in a little Chevy Luv back in the 90s. Wouldnt do nothing but spin the tires lol. But we thought that was cool back then.

With all due respect I love how Billy is putting in time upgrading the Falcon even tho' it's his "brother's" car! That little detail is so important to how this whole operation works. I was lucky enough to grow up with a car guy dad, it was just him and me for my entire time growing up. Not only were we father and son, we were also best friends. What was his was mine and vice versa. Whenever I picked up a new ride or project it was "our" car not "my" car. A family project just like we see here with the SRC family. Dad was from eastern Kentucky, Letcher county, so maybe it's something in the water from this part of the USA which all feed into the Ohio River...?
Nah, not really because I've seen this kind of family wholesome closeness in all parts of the USA.
Dad passed away March 2016 and it's been a lonely planet ever since then.
If any young people in the Detroit area are looking for a hot rod/high performance family garage to hang out and be a part of, I could sure use the enthusiasm and work put in for exchange of friendship based on a car guy/gal lifestyle. I've suddenly woke up and found I'm too old to do all this stuff by myself anymore. Losing my vision ain't helping the cause one bit.
Hit me up if any y'all reading are in Detroit area and looking for a place to do street/strip car stuff instead of aimlessly getting in trouble with others your age.
Looking for friends young and old who want to work together and see results with their street/strip performance projects.

I'm not much into imports overall, but for some reason I love seeing the 2JZ as a drag racing platform...sure a lot of it is how awesome they sound. I think it's pretty cool you guys are working on the Supra, always fun to branch out, and more variety is always good for the channel! Also bonus points for having Jeremy working on it!

Honestly I like a lil bit of everything from American to foreign, if it’s cool then it’s cool. Keep up the great work guys.
Look into double slip joints on the wastegate tubing instead of the bellows. They seem to always fail at the worst time.
Props to Tommy saying he likes working on different engines to learn from them. "I have an open mind" guy should take a note from Tommy - different doesnt mean worse. 2jz are objectively great engines, so are small blocks, but in different ways.
