    I was born and raised in Sandusky, back when the population was around 65k. Left at 19 when Sandusky started really going downhill and only went back for short visits. The last 2 movies I saw at the State Theater were Jaws and Star Wars. I wish you the best of luck.

      First and foremost I want to thank you for watching the video, I really appreciate it
      I come to understand that Sandusky was a place you didn’t want to live, however the city is building up and hopefully say on the rise.

      @@GlentheDayTripper Yes, I am happy to see they finally stopped taking for granite their unique and beautiful location and are doing something with it now. It has been a huge frustration of mine for many years to see it all go to waste. They let Perkins rob them of their glory for many years. Most of what I have as fond memories is gone now, they even tore down my grade school (Ontario) and stopped using both junior high schools. All signs of how much the population has shrunk. Crack hit Sandusky hard in the 80s. I won't lie, Sandusky was a hard place to grow up in during the 60s,70s and 80s. An environment I choose not to raise my own children in once I realized there were kinder places to live. But, I took some of it with me and made sure my children knew and appreciated Drive-ins and the Motown influence we had from Detroit. The music was the best in that part of the country, hands down. BTW, where do you originally hail from?

      @CB.PUNISHER.1900 It wasn't about being so much better, more about people's attitudes and demeaners. I have lived all over in my life, Columbus, Washington DC metro area (Alexanderia VA), Gaithersburg Maryland, Washington Court house Ohio, Mansfield, Hilo Hawaii, and lastly New Richmond WI. I look for 4 criteria that decides if I stay or go. #1 Jobs #2 affordable housing #3 low crime #4 positive, kind and peaceful attitudes. I have a love/hate relationship with Sandusky. I miss it, but realized what I miss is not there anymore. I have fond memories that I hold close to my heart, but I also had a lot of hard times and heartbreak growing up there as well. People in that particular area of the country tend to have a chip on their shoulders, angry or easy to anger. I don't know why that is, it just is.

    I was just there , we stayed at the Chesapeake lofts. It was a great vacation. I am thinking about retiring there. I will live on Lake Erie in a boat.

    Ya polish a turd, it’s still a turd.
    I live in Sandusky. Gunfire is a regular occurrence but it seems nobody here can shoot what they’re aiming at. There was a drive by shooting right in front of my house just a couple years ago and I don’t even live in the bad area. Thankfully we got property 200 miles away and building a home as we speak. Can’t WAIT to get out of this place. Not a place I want to raise my family.

      What part of Sandusky do you live ? I'm looking to move out there where should I avoid?

      @ArmsnAcres Рік тому

      @@adrianmacklin418 Hancock Street for sure. Pretty much anywhere around downtown is kinda rough. I don’t necessarily feel unsafe it’s just an ugly city and there’s a lot of folks around here that really don’t have any respect or morals.

    Out of curiosity, if you don't mind replying, where did you move from? Do you see a lot of retired people? Do you feel safe in most areas?

      @@helenabrus191 I don’t mind replying at all thank you for reaching out. I am from Virginia Beach area and my neighbor hood was not a good one high crime rate with violent offenders shooting stabbing and the like.
      No I really don’t see a ton of retired people I see people from their 20s to mid 50s but of course there will be a number older than that.
      Absolutely, I feel safe here. I walk around all the time. In fact I love going downtown Sandusky. I will start filming again soon so you can see the city voted best small coastal town in America. So please subscribe and thank you again

    I just moved here too, it's the polar opposite to my middle-of-nowhere, trashy redneck town back in South Jersey. So glad I moved.

    Any updates for someone looking to move to Sandusky? I'm more interested in being around the Shores and Islands area as a whole but Sandusky has a few places in my current price range and is right by the highway to Cleveland where I have family. I've been out there a lot recently and my experience has been mostly positive. It seems like a good place for a single man in his 30's.

      Sandusky just like every other town in this world has its pros and cons. The summers here are a blessing. If you are going to want the convenience of some stores and restaurants in walking distance, I'd go with living in the downtown area. Otherwise no further south in town than within a mile from the mall. I live in a skyrise downtown and until I moved here, Life was so boring because I grew up where cornfields are surrounding. Prices of places are escalating here. If you want to move, who's gonna stop you?
