the answer to why he did 900+ dmg at like mintue 19:15 or so is because you had little defense which he could penetrate by 25(from blessing+toxic blade)+30 prot reduction from stone cutting sword, that pretty much left u with around 50 defense(cuz u regained your 30 prot with your one SC sword), he had a decent ammount of power and horus' 1 does like 50% extra dmg to knocked up enemies so if he had like 300 basic attack power the dmg makes sense, but it was mostly due to your lack of defense
also horus 2 reduces protections by 30 at max rank so if he hits his 2 then combos you have like 20 prots

The reason why is because you didn't build any protections until last item, and Horus has a 30 prot shred. You had stonecutting, but so did he, so you effectively had no defense built. Normally, that'll hurt you a lot in duel, but obviously you can get away with it. You can't do that against a god with that big of a protection shred, though, because mitigation isn't linear.
If you had, say, 150 physical protection, he would do 40% of his unmitigated damage. After the shred, he would do 45%. 5% makes a difference, but obviously not huge.
At the 71 protections you had before item effects when you died, he would do 58%. After the shred, 71%. You are effectively giving him more than double the bonus damage from his protection shred by building no defense, on top of already being squishy, so he's going to fucking slap you.
That's why the few gods that have flat protection shred are heavily balanced around it in conquest. I believe Cerberus, Cernunnos, and Horus are the only ones. None of them are great backline divers, so they're often hitting tanky gods, where the flat shred does much less. Cernunnos also has to give up the extra damage per auto for it on the 1, which is a pretty huge sacrifice. Horus and Cerberus both have to use abilities that make them very vulnerable, and are likely to get dumped on if they use them without being careful.

@@GeminiOrion9 That's true. Kinda hard to remember them all off the top of my head. I think there might be one or two others who have it in their kit. Either way, it's something Hi-Rez rarely gives to gods, and they seem to be pretty careful to balance it when they do.

Also when he did that crazy damage he shredded your protections down to 11 (30 from his 2, 30 from Stone Cutting) plus he has 15 flat pen from Toxic blade, so true damage. Edit: He also still had blessing at the time, which is another 10 flat pen.

Horus's whole thing is the combo. The dash/stun lowers your physical defense then that follows with a heavy hitting attack. Then if you're knocked up the gust of wind does bonus damage if you're still in the air when it hits. It also slows for a bit. As a Horus main one of the best ways to counter is wait for him to use "gust" on the minions as that's the only way he clears them and attack when it's on cool down. Or if he misses the stun in the combo. Without the stun he is a wet noodle, but his heal also gives minions a small defense boost for a second that's why his minions normally beat yours

I trying the Horus with the same build against a Odin bot level 1 in training. I am doing true damage without any abilities. He didn’t have red buff, and true damage to a level 1 Odin bot for the Horus 1 is 329 and 441 (ichival and stone cutting are fully stacked). That Horus is dealing like 150 extra damage for some reason.

your base protections at lvl 19 as fenrir is 71. you had stone cutting which gives you 30. total you had 101 physical prots.
his 2 has a protection shred of 30 at max rank which rendered stone cutting out of the equation.
71 physical prots, he has stone cutting with decreases those another 30, as well as toxic blade which has 15, and assassins blessing which has 5.
in total he has 50 pen. which meant he was hitting you at 21 protections.
So spirit robe for the 15% damage reduction anytime he does anything to you except auto, and then a midgardian mail? This way he just doesnt deal damage to you.

3 on a hebo carpet means he cant just slow u to infinity he has to have beads or ult out of ur ult which has prot and he can build rather tanky and still have damage with his 2 power buff

Horus 2 + stone cutting put you down to 41 defence at 18:30, with the 15 pen from toxic he's doing true damage to you.
Him being a warrior with warrior scalings + breastplate with stone cutting evens out your sword. Leaving you with 30 pen vs his 136 defence, that extra cooldown is massive on you aswell.
i get that feel everytime i play Raijin, When i fight him he's always a tank and still hits like one. but when i play Raijin i hit like a wagon thats Angy.
If Sam actually respected the player and god, he would've gotten Breastplate 4th, but he didn't. The lack of Breastplate lost him the fight, which lost him the Phoenix, which lost him the game.

tbh on a few engagements it looks like you'd use your kit and then start walking away, while Horus would slow you with his 1 and just walk at you autoing while you wait for your 1 to come off cooldown. Other than the fact that he had more HP you were definitely out trading him if you actually kept fighting.

Ahhh, yes the classic horus players, Sam I think you need to play causal more often if you think this is surprising.
The sad thing is in order to beat a horus is to just outplay a horus, so basicly bait him to dash, then 1 to stun, 3 to immune the knock up while AA canceling. There his burst so now he runs with his 3 you clear wave faster and have lower cooldowns, coudve been a win if played correctly, but the take away is if you don't play around his kit you get smacked hard as you saw.
I feel you Sam I hate warriors too. They do nothing but stack defense and yet deal an absurd amount of damage.
In my opinion, being tanky like a warrior is so busted, they take no damage but deal a whole assloads. Not necessarily talking about duel but in general.
Warriors generally have burst and cc. Their DPS is usually bad, and relies on melee basic attacks that they can't use for very long in teamfights. All else equal, most hunters will destroy most warriors lategame.
Solo has also been widely considered the least impactful role in conquest for a long time now. That has a lot to do with the meta and the way the map is structured, but obviously they aren't too busted or they'd have a bigger impact.

Horus with hydras and runeforge does well over 2k dmg with the 1 2 combo. Its kinda nuts the scaling of BaP is much better than power scaling plus flat dmg and a multiplier. Horus is indefinitely one the most terrifying gods to play against hes the best "guardian" warrior.

Sam you’re catching enough criticism in these comments but I have to add on. Upgrading your thorns did literally nothing to help you and that 500 gold would have allowed you to finish your defense item before that last fight. Might not have made a difference but pissing 500 gold away for very literally no reason definitely meant you didn’t have a finished item for the final fight.

Horus’ 1 has a second half to it that counts as an auto attack. It can also proc things like Hydras!
horus alt fire is technically an auto attack
However, it cannot proc crit chance. But, as seen here, it can proc things like stone cutting, toxic, and Ichivial. < don’t know if I spelled that wrong.
