Wasp queen minions health works differently from everything else. The minions will die from any 3 hits of damage so I use gas arrows on them. The gas arrow will kill all 3 of them in seconds because of the different way the health works with them. The gas damages them 3 times and they die.
that build is really strong all around. I found it out during the PTS (although with a few different mutations) and it is awesome! the black widow for example isn't resistant to bleed damage, and it has the feel of the OG super poison build from 1.0 against other more normal bugs

Ok Sir, here's the thing. I know you don't like ranged. I get it. But I REALLY want to know whether the new Bard's hat is better (more effective) than the crow feather hat. I'm not as good at breaking things down like you have shown. What do ya think?
The Bard's Tudor seems to be better if you are playing with other people. They look to have similar defence as even though the bard hat has more the crow hat provides more resistance. Personally I would go with the Crow hat but wouldn't hurt to try the Bard's Tudor.

I know the wasp queen is resistant to fire damage, but using the Fire Staff, alongside the full Moth set for the bleeds, and Thors pendant makes very quick work of the Wasps/Wasp Queen, and can hit them in the air much easier. I do not know if its faster than the dagger or not, but it has been pretty easy farming for me using this combination, might be worth a try testing sir. Great work tho, loves the vids!
I have some armour that might also work here: Mask of the Mother Demon (Maxed) Termite Armour (Maxed) Widow Knee Pads (Maxed) I think this would do good because the widow Knee pads give parry poison Termite armour has the dust cloud which would reduce her attack speed And the maxed mask of the mother Demon has poison and venom coating. Would you say this would be a good armour combo?
I know the punchy boi build got nerfed, but the damage still stacks infinitely right on the mutation? Would that still be viable in longer boss fights?
My only nitpick would be you crossing off the crossbow so quickly (based on DPS.) You’re animation canceling the reload. You can’t do that anymore. (as per the red debuff in the bottom left corner but I’m sure you know that) because it looked like it did good damage when you spaced out the shots in the beginning, I’d guess probably 30ish arrows to kill the queen
No the queen like most bosses in the game gets more resistant to damage as the fight goes on. You'll notice even with the build at the end the first half of her health goes really quick then it massively slows down
@@Paraly5ersorry for being late to this, only JUST stumbled onto this channel but yes the original poster is correct here. Your damage drops significantly when you reload cancel, as you can see if you go back and look. First 2 shots were normal damage, next shots were reload cancel and terrible damage. You weren't close to phase 2 yet as that doesnt happen until the boss has 75% hp or less. I did my own testing just to see the boss kill time difference. I did one run with nothing but reload cancels and 1 with no reload cancels. No reload cancels was over a full minute faster. Reload canceling, regardless of if a boss is in a phase or not, absolutely destroys the damage. Not to mention you fly through WAY more arrows. Just isn't a smart thing to do no matter how you slice it. Only time you should reload cancel is when you are farming your infinite splinter or feathered arrows 😆 otherwise, it's just slower kill times and tossing away a hell of a lot of ammunition.
Best set to use is black ox cross bow with salt arrows ( vary easy to acquire just kill the one ant lion in the sand box to the cave then kill the two down below then 34 or more salt available ), brood mother helmet (sleek) , widow chest plate (sleek) ,mantis legs (sleek) ,with widow dagger or switch to moth legs (sleek) if your good with a bow. Mutation assassin, cardio fan, spicy safety ( coup de grass and trapper peeper combo if wanted ) or meat shield and buff lungs or mom genes
I've absolutely destroyed Mant, the Mantis, Director Schemector and the Brood Mother with a fully upgraded Mint Mace and Ant Lion Armour (Demon face mask). Think that will be good for the Wasp Queen?

Good video paraly5er I didn't know how to kill the wasp queen but this video helped I also didn't know you could block to spam the crossbow I appreciate the amount of effort that you put into this video testing all the different ways to kill it and finding the best trinkets and mutations along with weapons and armor but overall good video
You probably already know, but the wasp minions actually do not have a traditional hitpoint bar, they just take 3 hits of any amount of damage. So that's why this build kills them in 1 hit, the dagger hits and the bleeds tick the additional 2 hits to kill them. It does mean though that the crossbow with regular cheap arrows is actually also pretty good to kill the wasps because you can just cancel animation spam shoot them 3 times to quickly kill them, especially useful for the stupid drone since they don't like to come down. Fun tips, Drones can endlessly spawn in Whoa Mode, and the Mantis Trinket will work wonders if you have it because of the crits restoring 50 stamina. As for me, I'm going to enjoy farming this boss. I've had drones in medium but that was in the PTS, so maybe it changed since. I'm not a fan of the mantis trinket personally would rather have the extra crit damage and chance from Thor's Pendant
I just use mom genes mutation and the new spider trinket. Every time a spider spawns the boss and adds go directly to them. I then use fire wand and black ox armor.
There is a bug with the Stuffed wasps when you rub it it plays the sound of a bee lol Edit: and the Wasp Queen one and the sounds of the infected wolf spider is an infected Weevil
The assassin build is also amazing for the Broodmother, used it in 1.1 with the scythe for it's huge buff to crit damage. For this fight I found Moth armor with T3 crossbow really strong on whoa. Salt Arrows are just a nice extra to have as the ranged bleed by itself 1 shots the minions even with the weak hit of rapid firing the crossbow. Block cancelling helps to rapidly swap to your main 1-handed weapon for the rest of the fight. PS: Poor Coaltana must crying seeing how the already superior T3 sword got buffed lmao
So what happened with the wasp Queen? Was she massively buffed, or is she just bugged? Playing on woah, and she just spams summons over and over and over again. I’m not even fighting the Queen, I’m having to fight the summons from all angles. And then she starts summoning drones at 75% health now. In all of the older videos I’ve seen when the wasp Queen was first released, she’s never done this before. Playing on medium is a different story. She’s way easier on medium, but absolutely broken in woah. Sometimes she even spams summons twice in a row to summon 6 wasps. (4 wasps and 2 drones).
Yo, heres a content idea for ya. Seeing if the new lootluck mutations/trinkets, now can make the Waft Emitter a viable source of farming? Cause it’s just garbage pre 1.2 😬
Can you test the poison build again please! since new patch notes: Wasps are no longer immune to poison. Wasp Drone heal amount reduced. Most poisons applied by the player to creatures now have double the duration. Increasing damage per tick of all poison effects. Increasing the bonus poison damage gained from Spider and Widow armor sets.
Haven't done Queen wasp yet, seen broodmother was buffed, lvl 9 black widow armour black widow blade no trinkets can just stand there and tank and mantis ( while just stacking heals )
I went and had widow armor with brood mother mask. And didn’t even use a melee. Went full sour staff. And killed drones with tick makuhati. All in woah mode. Hours of pain. But the sour charm and staff carried
used this on whoa mode, and it shredded her. honestly, i didn't expect it to be that good. only difference is that i used mithridatism instead of trapper peep.r because i didn't feel like grinding for 30 waspidotes .
Usually it's worth switching it up based on the boss. Some bosses like this one and Dir. Schmector aren't very vulnerable to poison. I've made guides on a few of the bosses in the past but I also think some stuf has been patched
So venom damage isn’t ruled out that means my mask of the mother demon isn’t completely useless because it’s on the Sleek path which makes it do venom damage
i think using the bard bow with salt arrows with bard tudor and the rest moth armour is best since you dont have to kill the boss for the drops since stealing items
Ok but this build is to kill the boss. Also the salt arrows become really expensive if you use them every time you want to kill the boss, it's not a sustainable way to beat it.
@@Paraly5er salt is easy to get since the sand box gives you almost 40 for the little mine like area and i was saying you dont need to kill it to get the stuff for the bow
@@idiotplays377 I agree salt is so common it's inexpensive (and nothing is purely sustainable: at some point you will have to leave to restock on healing supplies anyway), but am I wrong in saying you can't leave the arena without killing the wasp? From what I know the other bosses will not let you leave if the boss is still alive, I can't imagine this would be any different?
@@AtomixKingg when you die you can respawn at the field station and the boss summon will appear since you died so you dont have to kill it you can steal stuff then let it kill you and do it until you get the stuff for the bow
Btw need a guide for the infected broodmother....goddamn that's a hard boss. Went in first time and was like "what the hell...? Why so easy?" I found out why it was so easy about 3 seconds later
destroy two wasp nests there should be around 3 that u can break. the easiest ones to break is the one under the stump and the one under the berry bush near the wheelbarrel
@@rockydacat1736 You must be doing something wrong, if you follow what I said above then they will want you gone and then when you sleep you'll get the cutscene of them escaping the composter
All staffs would make it hard to block the stinger attack and they aren't as powerful as they were in the previous patch. She is resistant to spicy, fresh has no range and sour doesn't stun as much as it used to
@Paraly5er I know the Wasp Queen is resistant but with a moth armor and some other secret stuff you can do some good damage to her. The poison stinger and stuff isn't too much of a concern if you move around imo. Some poison resist smoothies and you're good to go
@@Paraly5er I detected a streamer girl with amazing abilities (UA-cam: taya_foxtail). She kills the Infested Broodmother through the Power Droplet without taking any damage. And in the battle with the Wasp Queen, she even manages to change clothes and change weapons without taking any damage either.
i just shot the koi fish with a level 1 spicy staff and it made an effeckt on the koi that looked like fireworks but just for 1 second and i threied to shot ihm again but it didin't work again

Not how it works, the salt effect from the trinket only effects the damage from the trinket and doesn't effect the damage dealt by the dagger

Yeah although not quite as good as poison as you can only get 2-3 stacks of bleed whereas you used to be able to get like 10 stacks of poison almost

This is also an interesting build, I tried it against regular wasps and it wasn't great but may be better here.

Think the termite armor is a bit pointless as the attack speed of the wasp queen isn't really a problem. Other armor sounds good though

Mantis is a pain. Best tactic for the mantis is run away and shoot arrows for 30 mins LOL.

The stack resets when you take damage, so unless you are Mohammed Ali then you've got no chance

Nope, she isn't weak to fresh damage and you won't be able to block any attacks

Honestly just do no element, you should't use it as a weapon and having no element means it will break acorns and stuff easier

100 is a lot lol, you likely won't need more than 30 but take as many as you want

Yep, didn't know this when making the vid but learned it a couple of weeks ago, a very good tip, also means feather arrows are pretty useful too

No, it is just the damage dealt by the trinket that is elemental not the damage by the weapon

This is busted, I literally just killed the wasp queen on mild and a drone spawned

Yeah on WOAH it's a lot harder. This build is still probably the best one but the non stop summons are just broken and OP

I used the broodmother helmet termite chest plate and the black widow shin guards with a rusty spear. No deaths

You need to kill bombardiers and stinkbugs or go to the hedge and break web sacs

Pretty important, the bleed and poison are really good for stopping the queen from healing and killing her summons

It was a great source of farming pre 1.2. I used it to farm fire ant heads, boiling glands and other items

I think the best method would be to use the whacker, and then when she’s in the air shooter with the bow

@@AtomixKingg when you die you can respawn at the field station and the boss summon will appear since you died so you dont have to kill it you can steal stuff then let it kill you and do it until you get the stuff for the bow

BMC with salty trinket/Crossbow with salty and pollen arrows/ black ox armor gave me the easiest wasp queen fight
Problem with salt arrows is that you have to recraft them like I said. Black ox armor seems pointless as it only helps if you're doing charged attacks

destroy two wasp nests there should be around 3 that u can break. the easiest ones to break is the one under the stump and the one under the berry bush near the wheelbarrel

You need faction reactivity ON, otherwise it won't work. They need to "want you gone" then sleep

@@rockydacat1736 You must be doing something wrong, if you follow what I said above then they will want you gone and then when you sleep you'll get the cutscene of them escaping the composter

I have the sheild in my hotbar so if i need to block a attack. I use salty club of the mother demon with a sheild in the hotbar
This is a good way to go. Much harder to do on console though as you need to bring up the wheel and stuff

All staffs would make it hard to block the stinger attack and they aren't as powerful as they were in the previous patch. She is resistant to spicy, fresh has no range and sour doesn't stun as much as it used to
@Paraly5er I know the Wasp Queen is resistant but with a moth armor and some other secret stuff you can do some good damage to her. The poison stinger and stuff isn't too much of a concern if you move around imo. Some poison resist smoothies and you're good to go

That was just for the footage, it's still not a good choice. You can't parry most attacks without a shield
Honestly i just use the broodmother head gear rolly polly chest plate widow greaves morning star shield and barbarian

If you get hit you lose your fist stack now, so doesn't work as well
@@Paraly5er I detected a streamer girl with amazing abilities (UA-cam: taya_foxtail). She kills the Infested Broodmother through the Power Droplet without taking any damage. And in the battle with the Wasp Queen, she even manages to change clothes and change weapons without taking any damage either.
Try scythe instead of dagger
Tried it, they were very similar. Problem is scythe is 2 handed so not as safe

I found this fight easy with the scythe as the assassin mutation works with it
Yeah this was a close second for me but leaves you too vulnerable to stinger attacks as you can't parry them without a shield
I just use the max level widow dagger, broodmother mask, widow armour and salty charm and she doesn’t stand a chance
Like I said she is resistant to poison so not the best choice
i just shot the koi fish with a level 1 spicy staff and it made an effeckt on the koi that looked like fireworks but just for 1 second and i threied to shot ihm again but it didin't work again
Yeah that happens with the spicy staff sometimes, it just glitches and causes loads of explosions
I will be using that build with the mant mutation
Mant is cool but I think it may struggle against a flying enemy
I use the tick macaroni blade and ladybug armor for infected brood
