when the bass and drums kick in its so fucking good i want to cry, and sometimes when ive had a couple of drinks i do in fact cry. best band of our time, hands down. and this old stuff proves it 100%
An old man has a heart attack in the movie theater While my friend calls an ambulance Buster Keaton's dancing I wait for the punchline But it never comes Two blind kids in wheelchairs are crossing the street And they get hit by the ambulance Cause the light was green And I wait for the punchline But it never comes Promised you that I'd be true And now chandeliers are crashing down to the ground Waitresses drop their trays Trains derail with passengers While mother snakes eat...
(continued lyrics) - eat their young. the water pipes in this town, burst and flood the living room. the fire trucks lose their way home, and crash into the hospitals. we’re causing accidents, me and you. we’re causing accidents, me and you. where does a promise go when you pretend it isn’t there? do we really think that it could just disappear?
wow... this is gorgeous. i had never heard it before. i'm in love with it. if someone knows how to purchase it, i really want to use it for a lyrical dance
@iliketacos27 ... okay, it's listed as "miscellaneous in my Itunes!" Obviously not an album... sounds like its as the guy sadi, bootleg, demo, etc.etc.etc. I got it from my flatmate! I'm sure it's been used in an advert at some point in the UK!
@redcloud02 I think it lost a lot of the scratchy down-to-earth-ness that the demos and ep had, but gained a lot of maturity and self reflection on the way. both beautiful in their own way
@harryeffingpotter Not so sure about that and I think Wyn Butler would agree. Have you tried Radiohead. They are my number 1 band and Arcade Fire is joint 2nd place with Grandaddy. Thom Yorke is The Emperor as far as I'm concerned and Wyn is just one of "The Kids". I'd try the Radiohead song "Punchdrunk Lovesick Singalong" it kind of fits with this song.
What was this released on/where can I find it. Grooveshark has it listed on a nonexistent album, and I've found no mention of it anywhere else. (Same question goes for "Freeway")
Listen to this on a subway, watching people as they disregard the drunks homeless and the sick and elderly. Such compassion in this song n
i love the feeling of listening to a song for the first time, and simply feeling: fucking hell this is it. i am having that feeling right now.

arcade fire will never disappear
An old man has a heart attack in the movie theater
While my friend calls an ambulance
Buster Keaton's dancing
I wait for the punchline
But it never comes
Two blind kids in wheelchairs are crossing the street
And they get hit by the ambulance
Cause the light was green
And I wait for the punchline
But it never comes
Promised you that I'd be true
And now chandeliers are crashing down to the ground
Waitresses drop their trays
Trains derail with passengers
While mother snakes eat...
Patrick Mulier God bless you
(continued lyrics)
- eat their young.
the water pipes in this town,
burst and flood the living room.
the fire trucks lose their way home,
and crash into the hospitals.
we’re causing accidents,
me and you.
we’re causing accidents,
me and you.
where does a promise go
when you pretend it isn’t there?
do we really think
that it could just disappear?
