The only tob scale that is better gp/h is duos (assuming you can consistently complete solo tobs). Duos are also more mechanically interesting and fun imo. I definitely enjoyed this as a challenge and plan to do many more to try to improve my time.
When maiden attacks you, she has a chance to drain whichever combat stat you have the current highest attack bonus. Swapping to tbow as she attacks makes your range attack bonus the highest which drains your range level instead of your melee stats.
