@ghostranger. But it wouldn't. Liam was too far gone in addiction. If it didn't happen then, it sadly would have happened another day. He only lasted 2 days with his 2nd try at rehab in the summer. Its profoundly sad how dramatic his last day was, but Liam, his real self, wasn't there. The mix of different drugs, and alcohol had caused some kind of psychosis. I've read his bag and hat were found with him. Did he think he was just leaving the hotel in his last conscious moments, but the only comfort is that he wasn't aware of his last moments. Awful for those left behind, especially his family, but in an odd way the kindest for Liam.

Me speculating would say 1.His X bringing court charges against him 2.His record label dropping him and who knows what else was going on. I find it sad that he didn't talk to someone but sometimes people are too proud to do so and turn to drugs/alcohol. I made my comment because I really believe if they called immediately instead of sending him to his room he would be alive today and who knows it might have been the one wake up call he needed. Maybe he would have died at a later date from his addictions but he would have been alive for now.

Its odd they didn't do it at the time when he was unconscious in the lobby, and oddly no mention of it in the call. But I do understand how it's incredibly difficult to break free of addictions. I've nursed people dying of it and my lifelong friend died from alcoholism a few years ago. In the end we could only be by her, had tried all avenues to help but it was too much for her. Liams story is tragic.

After 1D split he should have persued being a fireman, I can totally see how Liam would have been fulfilled by helping others, he had a great need to be needed by people, to feel like people admired and liked him that he never really received in his solo career and I think being a fireman, the mental and physical of it would have filled that emptiness in him that lead him down a dark path. After 1D he was lacking in self-esteem, struggling with fading into obscurity, felt the need to big himself up and helping others would have given him what someone with his personality needed.

If I am in his age group, I would have fallen for Liam but he was young enough to be my son (because I often feel attracted to men who are heroic, sacrificing themselves for others, which is quite rare these days when chivalry is not really important at these modern times).
I just don’t understand why? Was he alone…they always have some people around, for their own security…It is weird, being so famous and on his own…going up and down by himself…being a target for some craziest people!! Not even regular people are so trusty of others, in hotels….
