This is divine music! Bhimsenjee's badhat of Malkauns is incomparable. The raag attains a real physical form in front of your eyes. I recollect Panditjee's Malkauns performed at IIT Bombay in Mood Indigo festival in 1975. He sang this same khyal to a packed audience in Convo hall. When the performance was over, there was pindrop silence in the auditorium for a minute. That was the best daad given to Panditjee by the normally boisterous crowd of IIT!!

There is nt only to listen but also to C nd enjoy Pandit ji…..hu is in Tanpura @ right side, th face cut resembles Pt. Jasraj. ( though he won’t accompany other artists ) . In a concert of Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur , at Calcutta , before th concert Pt. Bheemsen Joshi was given th task of honouring Mansoor, then Joshi ji , I rembr telling “ ye mera Soubhagya hai, to put this shawl on th shoulder of my elder brother” ….GRT Pt. BSJ.
He is his student Madhav Gudi from Dharwad.
