Of the three versions on UA-cam--the others are Anna Karenina and a rehearsal--this is acoustically by far the best. The instrumentation is balanced and the vocal line is comprehensible. Andrew Klavan's warning about it being like Adele is well taken, but not until the song has been sung, and a fine little waltz-time ballad it is. It took me several unsuccessful tries with the other versions, but with this take or mix I could make out the words, even through the singer's sometimes sloppy diction. Unlike far too many pop songs nowadays, the lyrics are tight, vivid, and sustain a thought all the way through. As a veteran of a long ago war, I especially liked the vibe of "though I can't stay/I know one day/we'll dance again once more". Yes, practically a cliche, but repeated and repeatable because it is timeless.
