  • My Workshop Door is garbage, so needing a new one I could make one from scratch, or pick up a door headed for the scrap heap and re-purpose it. I chose the latter.

Great video Dean. Love your determination to overcome what your illness throws at you as best you can, and with such good humour. An inspiration to the rest of us. Thanks as always - Eddie

Yes film it all I believe all of us would like to see it. I've been a fan of yours since Dean the vaping biker channel.

Dean, I have to agree with others that those are about the best masks i have found in 50+ years of making sawdust. I'm a glasses wearer and the don't fog em up.
I would like to see at least a bit of the brick work.
    Rest up mate.

Yes Dean. I’m a BaseCamp mask user. Absolutely brilliant especially as I’m a glasses wearer. No fogging up of my specs using the foam pads and very comfy. My Trend Stealth mask is an ornament now.

Hi,when you probably have to take the brickwork down. Either flat bar or angle bar either side it would act as a poor man lintl. I think your videos are great.
    Regards Bill

Had to replace the door of my shed too a few years ago. Quite an ordeal, even more so because I dropped the second hand replacement door and the prefitted window shattered to bits. 😆Hope you will feel well enough to go further on your woodwork journey, Dean!

Great stuff Dean. “Captain Cripple Hands” did have me in stitches, love the honest approach to the challenges, and have had plenty of those moments myself.

Good to see things are still progressing Dean, hope you get some good days among the bad. Happy to watch you do some pointing, I might learn something :) (but I know filming everything makes it take longer, so whatever you need to do for your health)

Great video. Think you need a lintel to fix the issue above the door. None of that brickwork looks supported.

Great effort with the door, keep smashing it when you're able.
I use those masks. I wanted something light and flexible. My glasses were always steaming up with the more rigid trend mask i had. The new ones are ok but i find them slightly small and won't go under my chin properly. Maybe i have a huge head 🤷‍♂️🤣
That may be a useful thing with your big beard. The specs and reviews read well and the filters are easily replaced.

Great to see you back Dean 👍
Is it just me, or is your door missing a lintel??
Something that I have done in a similar situation is to get some decent angle iron (3" x 3") wider than the doorway. Cut out the mortar either side slupnit in and then repoint the bricks above it 😉
    Just a thought 😉
Either way, keep up the great work and content.
    All the very best, Jon

If your door is taller than the bricks coming out, then just build a frame to match the hole of the door makes.

The door could've used a coat of sealer to prevent the uneven dark and light areas.

Great video Dean, i thlnk you may need to put in a concreate head over the door...........?

    • @sixcylinders6346

It’s a single story garage so I assume there is only a couple of courses of bricks maximum above the door. That’s why there’s no lintel in the build. The door frame itself is enough to support the bricks ( or it was when it was new 😂)
