  • After looking into the idea of tyre sealants possibly being able to reduce punctures when out on site, I have decided to put my money into Air Seal who impressed me with their demonstrations at trade shows.
    This video explains why I bought their product, what you get, and the trials and tribulations of installing it.

    Great video Ollie! Sorry you had so much trouble with blockages in the install process - when installing large volumes such as this we would always recommend the straight chuck over the right angled like you said!
    One of the best ways to see whether our product has been successful is to take a look at the casing when you change a tyre. You should see the fibres knitted together in any puncture sites from the inside. 😃
    Looking forward to seeing your next video on our tyre sealant! Let us know if you have any questions or problems in the meantime.

    Doing mine tomorrow! Two new tyres being fitted so pouring in directly before second bead is on, going to pull valves in rears and fill while flat, then make mr tire fitter a cuppa and ask him to re inflate rears 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻😂😂

    I don't know this product, but I have used OKO stuff a bit. But with that you let the air out, then just pump it in to the tyre with no air pressure in. Seems to be a little easier

      I did a couple of tyres off camera that were flat and it did make it easier, the biggest issue I had was using that 90degree fitting - should have used the straight one from the off and it would have all been much easier

    Looks a good product. Certainly much cheaper than replacing a whole tire on a backhoe! They seem to be prone to punctures with their type of work.

    I remember a few years ago now when I did my JCB I let the air out first then put the gunk in . 👍Good luck hope it works.

      In hindsight, it would have been easier to let the air out I think - less pressure to overcome when pumping!

    Interesting tips there. Does it make any difference whether tubed or tubeless tyres? How do you keep track of how much material you have left in the tub? If you let most of the pressure out of the tyres, whilst the wheel is off the floor, (especially easy with the JCB) would that not lessen the amount of effort needed to pump the sealant in?

    You can re use this product when your tyre is worn out just pour back into the bucket and start again been using it for many years good product ,tyre supplier hate it as they loosing money on repairs

    The other option is to release the tyres, used bit of silicone lube and re-inflate, which would be more of a pain. I've used car tyre sealant before with limited success, so fingers crossed for this. Useful video though and will be interested in an update in a month or two.

      Me too Bob, but I think this product is different, hence investing a bit of money into it. I’ll certainly keep you all updated with how I get on

    Could you recommend an excavator for someone who installs sewer back water valves and works primarily in residential sewer drain line repair. Typical dicks are 9 feet deep but we could see pipes up to 11. I really like your JCB excavator, but would like to get your recommendations on an ideal first system. Ideally, it would be something that could handle a tilt rotator attachment.

      11 feet is more than a 3t excavator will take you on its max dig, and to be honest - you want to be comfortably on top of the job rather than at max dig when working that deep. Those kind of depths are 8t excavator territory really - but obviously that comes with its own downsides on transport and physical size. What machines do you currently hire and how often do you need to go that deep? I imagine the average job isnt that bad?

    Looks like a milkshake for tires. It must work good to plug up the air chuck like that. I changed out a neighbour's atv tire because he kept adding tire sealant and the tire would keep going flat. When I broke the bead off of the rim, the tire exploded with green tire sealant getting all over me and my machine. The product is called Slime and doesn't work properly.

    • @Olliegunns
      @Olliegunns  Рік тому +1

      Ahh yes, Slime is what we used to use in our mountain bikes - rubbish messy stuff! This Air Seal stuff is totally different to that, and contains fibres which I think is what will make it more successful than slime... I hope!

    Would it have been easier to block the machine and drain the air from the tire, then pump the stuff in and refill the tire after. I think dirt perfect did that on his Volvo rock truck.

    • @Olliegunns
      @Olliegunns  Рік тому +1

      Yes, you are right, it would make it much easier to pump, but that would take quite a bit of time waiting for the tyre to deflate and pump it back up again, and I was trying to avoid that!
