Edge of my seat! We were taking out our transducer between trips, as advised by previous owner 'red book' manual. With easy access it was only a big deal except the first time. Keeps the unit clean and working. But recently we lost the barn doors? that we realize now! kept the water from being a gusher. It is super scary and wet to do it now! Needs haul out to fix. We are headed to Catalina on Tuesday after weather and swell and back on Friday before more of the same. See you out there sometime! @sailxanadusocal
@@keeldraggernext Saturday is looking a lot better now… we will come back Saturday, not Friday if it looks ok. Likely anchor near Whites’s. Ericson 35 ‘Xanadu’
Well, in this case the first transducer was defective. Then I forgot to change the depth source on the chartplotter on the new one. Scared me for a moment because I really didn't want to haul out and have to move the transducer location. We'll see how she works in deeper water next weekend.
Good job!
Thanks! Wasn't a difficult task but I hate not having better access.

That valve inside the sleeve certainly helps. I plan to go to Avalon next weekend if the weather cooperates.

Nice. I want to see more of that little tool holder at your nav station... looks nice.
The prior owner did woodworking as a hobby and made that little teak tool holder as well as a number of other nice improvements.
You might get 10M views!!😂😮😅
maybe 100 :-)
Nerves of steel! I was worried for you half a country away.
Funny. I thought the water would gush in a lot faster and stronger than that...
There are a couple of flaps inside of the sleeve which reduce the water flow. If there were malfunctioning, you would have seen a lot more water!
It’s almost ALWAYS software or (mis)configuration. Nice job, as always, Mark …. James
