Indeed and I knew it would be hard but i am more affected than even I expected. It was also so fast and despite her age i was not expecting it yet. I guess i thought she would go on to an age like her mother. Maybe actually you never really believe the day will come. And then one day its here. My love to you to. 🙏🏻

Thank you Amanda - I am Canadian and living in the America but she is still my lovely Queen - she came to my hometown many years ago and my sister and I stood inches from her - my sister, being just little says, hi Queen Elizabeth, and she replied, hi little girl - such a big thrill for us as children

There is something magical about meeting them isn’t there that lives in your heart. I lived in 5 mins from Windsor til my mid twenties so was fortunate enough to meet the Queen and many members of the family on many occasions. Quite often informal. Back then the Queen and Prince Phillip would for eg wander around the annual Royal Windsor horse show and you would quite literally be leaning on a fence chatting with them about the riders or horses that were competing. Also as a young child there was also a royal fete every year in my village (which was actually walking distance to Windsor) so HM the Queen was always present to open that. My first encounter was there as a small child however unlike your sister i shamed my mother 😂 by shouting ‘hello Queenie!’ At the top of my lungs. She stopped and spoke to me and apparently asked and where do you live. At which I apparently answered ‘well in my house of course!’ She didn’t bat an eyelid and just grinned indulgently at a young child that in all honesty had been bought up better! My mother was no-where to be found as she hid herself. Everyone was local so sadly for her there was no escaping her shame 😂! I also did the Duke of Edinburgh award and Prince Phillip himself visited my school. Advantages of being local i guess. And when i got older i actually drove horses (with carriages) in Windsor great park so would often drive the horses past members of the family, politely (then 😂 ) doffing the old hat. So many memories and i know i am so lucky to have so many personal ones to treasure. Thank you for your lovely comment, it is appreciated. I have been more affected that I expected tbh. 🙏🏻
