Hi there!
If you are a growing channel like myself, please subscribe to encourage me to continue to make videos. If you have a channel I would be happy to return the favour! 😊Wendy
57000k?
The car looks like brand new. It´s a treasure. Be careful with him. I have owned 6 VW Beetle´s in the 80´s. I love them until today.
Thank you! I also had bugs in the 80s and loved them so I wanted one for retirement. Finding this one was a rare find being like new yet in the older style.
@@wendyjarvisauthor6295 The old style Beetle was manufactured in Mexico until 2003. Some of them were exported to Europe, especially to Germany, Austria and Italy. But it was difficult to registrate them due to emission rules.
@@wendyjarvisauthor6295 PLEASE
You are a lucky one who got this beauty and you are taking very good care of it .
Aw, thanks, I do enjoy driving him!
Its nice to see a v.w. beetle with no radio! Thank you!😅
I had a '74 and it is so good to see the faithfulness to original design in this Mexican made Bug.
Wow. Beautiful! I've been thinking the way to go is with a made in Mexico bug. I'm inspired to start looking!
I actually have Stan for sale……
@wendyjarvisauthor6295 I appreciate your offer (sale) but not quite ready!
Very nice car and video. Thanks for making it!
Thanks
cleanest vw engine i have ever seen
Amazing how it looks the same the the original from the 30s
VW Trends magazine back in the timeframe of the early 2000's did an article on a person in the US purchasing one of these Mexican Beetles, via a US business that specialized in bringing these bugs in. Don't have that article in front of me, but I believe it entailed using a US pan and it's VIN number and the rest of the car built from the Mexican bug drivetrain, interior, body, the entire works, transferred onto that pan to make it US legal. That there, Wendy, is one beautiful Bug!
Thank you! I have heard of switching out the pan, fortunately this one is all original.
Nice looking car Wendy, the cannister in the front is not the charcoal cannister, but is part of the EVAP system. The charcoal cannister is under the car, right side near the transmission. The cannister in the front is just an expansion chamber. It expands and contracts as the gas expands and contracts. If you have a crack you may smell gasoline. You can still buy them or fit one from another car.
Impressive super clean.. enjoy the ride
Thanks
¡Felicidades! tienes un Vocho hecho en México que ha estado en uso y sin duda de los mejor cuidados en el mundo. GENIAL
Stan! Nice to meet You!.....Great looking Bug! Love the colour!
He says, right back at ya!
I so desperately wanted to buy one of these new, but was in college then and never had quite enough money. This green was my favorite. Thanks for sharing, LOVE IT! 😍
I had one in high school and then 2 in university, my first cars and first love so just had to get one for retirement.
Mark... That is also my story. 🙁
I was one day in the kitchen of my parents' house while helping clear the dining-room table, and my father shouted at me: Come here, look at the Beetles on the TV! I went fast, and kept watching that short footage of TV news, and I heared that that very day was the last production day of the car. I caught me by surprise, since I was waiting to make money to buy one brand new inexpensively.
Beautiful car!!! I had a dark red 1991 Chers from México!!!
Thank you. 🙂 Very cool! Cheers!
I love the original beetle, it got so much character, I own a 2013 red beetle and I love it
Thank you 😊
Nice bug, greetings from Aguascalientes, México 🤙
Thank you. 🙂
Good job Wendy
Very clean, but I would get a. key for the safety lock. Would be well worth the expense.
Thanks, I’m not sure where to go about getting one…..any thoughts?
@@wendyjarvisauthor6295 Start with a key/lock shop, might have the key in stock or be able to get you a key.
Lovely car. Keep it out of the rain and snow as there isn’t any rust proof to speak of 👍🏻
Hard to believe it’s been in production for 65 years straight from 1938 to 2003 in a single generation with only facelifts during its evolution. All body panels match those of the original.
I had a 2003 as well. I had the Summer Edition of which only 500 were made. sold it years ago
What does Summer Edition mean?
Google it for pictures it was a limited edition that came in 500 vortex blue and 500 in isotope green I had the blue. Basically just color and a few stickers that said summer edition on it.
Absolutely gorgeous beetle!👌🥰👍
That little guy deserves that stereo installed, very nice looking bug!!
Right?!
Very Nice Wendy! Very good find!
Thank you 😊
What a beautiful bug. That’s so cool that you got one of the last ones made in Mexico. I’m a little surprised that they didn’t come with a radio standard.
I drive a 1998, love your 2003
Nice! - I own a 2003 1600i too.
Great car, my favourite! Taking care much that VW, Grettings from Mexico! 🇲🇽
Thank you!
I have one too, a Mexican beetle. I like it but it very hard to buy parts for it. Because is completely different than a USA one. For instance I wanted to replace the turn signal arm and the only one that fits is from a VW Jetta.
Muito legal. Bem diferente dos nossos aqui do Brasil. Aqui foram produzidos até 1986, voltaram em 1994 e encerraram novamente em 1996.
At 3:28 it shows your brake pedal being out of adjustment. The clutch and brake pedals should be in line. To fix it -- there is a stop plate on the floorboard with a bolt through it that, after loosening the bolt, allows the plate to be moved forward or backward as needed. You want 5 to 7 mm of free play where your foot touches the brake pedal pad.
Thank you!
What a gorgeous car!!! You have kept it in impeccable shape, funnily enough, I have an old 1993 Golf CL base model here in Mexico which was imported from Canada and I plan to make a video on it as it is my daily driver and there’s not too many of them around anymore
Thank you 😊. I’d love to see your video
I’ve subscribed to your channel, hope to see it soon!
@@wendyjarvisauthor6295 Thank you! I’ll do it as soon as I have time, finals season is getting on my nerves 😛 but yeah! Thanks a lot and I’ve subscribed to you as well!
Hey Wendy, great video, great car. The canister on the passenger side of the trunk is not a charcoal filter, it is the evaporation tank for the gas tank. Any evaporated gases collect in there and can be rerouted to the gas tank so pressure does not build up in the gas tank.
I have a 1996 Mexican in red. They have unique differences from the older ones in Canada.
Thank you!
What a nice vocho that’s the name for that car in mexico
I love the color
Stan's gorgeous, hope you have many great years with him.
Thank you
que hermoso vocho, amo esos carros
Hermoso temgo igualito igual de bonito felicidades
Stan!... its more like Juan or Pedro 😂
Stan is adorable
Right on, awesome Lil car
Thank you
Great beetle...saludos desde 🇲🇽
Thank you
Hi Wendy 👋. I'm just about to buy a 2003 beetle myself. It was great to stumble upon this video .I would love to buy one of those diagnostic cables .Any links for them ?
Hi, it came with my car actually.
I moved to Germany a week ago. I was able to ship a car on government funds for free. I was driving a beater corolla I end up selling for 2k$ and wanted to ship a nicer retro car. I was searching for a nice rear engine beetle but did find one I loved i end up buying a honda prelude. I wish I found a Mexican beetle. I thought beetles would still be common, I seen exactly zero rear engine beetle since I got here and I seen thousands of cars. Bet a rear engine beetle would be a rear head turner here.
Hermoso color, pretty color! 😍💯
Thank you 😊
Stan is an exquisite specimen. I would totally daily drive, as is in oh condition
Lindo esse fusquinha verde.😃💚👍🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I Love It!
Not the prettiest of all model years with body coloured bumpers and less chrome overall
but a Fuel Injected Beetle is way better than a temperamental carbureted bug with analog ignition system 😂
Beatiful is my dream i live in uruguay south america i love this car congratulations
Thank you
Wendy, thanks for the tour. One serious problem VW had when they went to the Bug fuel injection system was that the engine compartment tended to catch fire from fuel leaks of some kind. Probably why they included a fire extinguisher. You may wish to research the reasons for the later model VW Bug fuel injection issues, which is probably discussed on UA-cam. Otherwise, nice Beetle!
Thanks! Definitely need to research that!
Ethanol in fuel can degrade the fuel lines causing failure.
All (most) of the Mexican Beetles had a Fire Extinguisher installed. The fuel system can handle the ethanol gas as the rubbers were designed to handle that. I do recommend storing the car over the winter with ethanol-free gas, but can run regular gas all driving season.
In Argentina all cars must have a fire extinguisher in the car, might be do for Mexico too?
love it I need one
Tengo uno idéntico y lo cuido mucho me hace la vida más fácil y feliz😂😂😂😂😂
Lovely car Wendy greetings from the UK
Thanks so much! Hello
@@wendyjarvisauthor6295 Previous neighbour when I lived with my parents had a green early 70's 1303 model back in the early 80's when I was youngster
Great vid car looks like new.
Thank you
I've only dealt with older beetles so I'm not sure if it's a problem in this one but I'd change those plastic fuel filters to metal ones ASAP. The engine in these cars buck so much and the engine bay gets so hot that they're just a disaster waiting to happen.
EDIT: That is if they aren't metal already lol. I'm having a hard time telling from the video
The Mexican beetle has a fuel filter mounted under the car, left side near the transmission, there is no need for an additional filter. It is a large filter designed for fuel injected cars.
Espectacular car...
Thank you
I have a 2001. I love mine. Though I prefer the older style like you have.
Thank you
sweet memories of my '59. The truly flat windshield cracked when I slapped a mosquito on it. (new glass cost installed was less than $20!) While the newer ones still had a classic flat look, I think they put a very slight curve in them which made all the difference for strength. Is this correct?
Hi Wendy....I'm wanting a Mexican Beetle for my retirement too. Nice car and love the color. How do you get one? Thanks
Save on the hassle of installing an audio system just get a good portable Bluetooth speaker (or a couple that can pair up) and your phone. I’m doing this instead of upgrading from the AM radio my 69 Mustang came with.
So the Mexican Beetles are street-legal up in Canada?
That is a nice looking car, and it brings back my Volkswagen memories of the 70s and 80s. I never got the opportunity to drive one, and would love to at least ride in one again while I'm still on the planet.
Yes, this one was certified when I bought it
Great Bug.
Thank you 😊
Beautiful Beetle! It looks like new. I guess that you keep it in a garage. Anyway, I would recommend you not to use it when it is raining or snowing, and not to wash it by pouring water on it without control. Why? Because the bodywork of these cars is not galvanized, that is, not protected well against corrosion, unlike modern cars. Also, if you get inside with your shoes wet, the floor panels will rust and rot. I have a little cute little SEAT 600, which I just clean with a spray gun and a cloth.
Thank you, I like that idea.
Stan is a beautiful color of green I wonder what the code is for it
I’m not sure actually…..thanks
Beautiful car Wendy, I have a 1975! I’m also in Ontario, let me know if you ever decide to sell it!
Congratulations 🎉 I just love them. I had a 73, 74, and a 78. Back in the 90s as my first cars
Very eye soothing!!
Thank you
hermoso carro
Hi Wendy I have just bought a 2003 VW Mexican Beetle just like this one! Please could you tell me if you know the official VW colour for this car? I want to get a touch up pen for a few chips on the bonnet
Best Wishes Gary in the UK
Is this obd2? The computer you mentioned hooking up to it, that is
sweet
A little different from the Brazilian Beetles. Here they are affectionately called : FUSCA.
Os carros daí são melhores, em produzidos que no Brazil.👍🇧🇷
ИЗУМИТЕЛЬНО!
Hey Wendy is the floor pan original or was it swapped out for a 70’s pan in order to be imported into Canada? I am looking at one that has a 74 pan but Canadian registered. Not sure whether to buy it. Beautiful Beetle, you are very lucky! Thanks!
Thanks 🙂
Mine is all original.
Que lindo
🌻🌻
LIKE...!!!🚗
Thanks
Grate Beetle Wendy, could you please let me know the color code?
Where do I get that mini Volkswagen keychain on your keys?!?
It was a gift, but I believe it came from Amazon
Do your car have a title ? How did you get license plates ?
Yes, it has a Mexican ownership and when it came to Ontario they actually changed the ownership to a 1988 beetle as a 2003 was not I. The system
Is steering wheel power or manual? Thanks
It is manual
@@wendyjarvisauthor6295 How about A/C & Heather does it have originaly fitted? Thanks
@@babydove no ac unfortunately on this one, it was an option coming from the factory. It does have heat.
@@wendyjarvisauthor6295 At least u can install table fan which runs through 12v DC, that will help u some sort. Thanks
Hi Wendy Jarvis, what model is your Volskwagen Sedan ?? You sell it ?? How many dollars do you ask for it ?? Your green Vochito is beautiful.
Thank you! It’s not for sale at this time. It is a 2003.
@@wendyjarvisauthor6295 Okis thanks for yuor answer, I love vochos, greetings from Chiapas México to Ontario Canadá.
Do you know the process to legalize it in the US?
Sorry, I don’t, this one was owned by an American before it came to Canada though, the VIN is the issue.
let me know if you sell it im looking for one car like this wendy thanks
Did you sell this car 1:57
Love when folks hide their license plate on videos, but drive around with them fully exposed every day.
Yup! I laugh at myself for that video, one of my firsts, then stopped bothering, lol
@@wendyjarvisauthor6295 Beautiful beetle BTW. I have a '70 standard.
I’m trying to find a Mexican beetle, even one in the 90s’
I hope you find one. 🙂
Que as poltronas com os patinhos.👍💚💛🐤🐤
Imagine if Ted Bundy is still using it in today's generation using the latest gen. VW Bug from Mexico.
Just wondering on how many states you can have Mexican Beatles registered in because I know California you can't
Hi, I’m not sure, but I do know this beetle was registered in Florida.
Does the rear seat fold down
Yes it does 🙂
CTTP157 next time just use a peice of paper and tape instead of those annoying motion tracking lips to hide your license plates
