it seems everybody is putting this on a 30 amp ac input circuit install manual says 30 amp max. Could I use and existing 15 amp circuit and lower the charging output?
This can easily be done by changing the PowerShare value to 15 amps. This is detailed in the manual on Pages 77 and 72. Please note that this will not change the load side demand. If you are running loads (refrigerator, AC powered lights, entertainment electronics, and such) downstream from the Freedom and they exceed 15 amps you will trip your 15 amp circuit breaker. Depending upon how the signal is delivered from the Victron Battery/BMS, the XC Pro Marine's ACC Signal feature could be what you are looking for. Please refer to page 42, 43, and 55 of the Owner's Guide. xantrex.com/documents/Inverter-Chargers/Freedom%20XC/975-0799-01-01_Rev-D(Freedom%20XC%20PRO%20Owners%20Guide)_ENG.pdf
I have a Xantrex Freedom XC Pro 2000W/!00A ( not Marine) newly installed in my RV to Charge two Renogy 12V 100AH batteries with internal BMS. I have the Bt Remote control and software. I have updated the inverter firmware to version 106. What are the proper settings to charge my batteries??? Thanks Gene Ferris
Hi, Gene please refer to your Renogy manual to check the recommended voltage settling for your battery and then you can configure the Freedom X remote control panel.
Hi, I'm often in marinas in rhe caribbean where there is 220 on the docks, and then others have 110. Will this unit accepte both 110 or 220 shore power at the same time? if not is there a unit that does. How would I set it up to plug and play either voltage when I tie up?
No there's no inverter/charger unit that accepts both 110V and 230V unfortunately. Only the standalone battery chargers example Truecharge2 are universal that can work off both 110 and 230.
If you have 2 a/c panels feeding different circuits could this inverter be used and how would it be installed? Would you have the one a/c output going to a small breaker box and then splitting to the two seperate circuits?
Your chassis ground looks to be way undersized. ABYC says one size smaller than the DC supply. From the instructions you referenced "connect it between the Chassis Ground lug and the boat’s DC grounding bus or engine negative bus. Use a wire of gauge 2/0 AWG minimum, 0 AWG for Freedom XC PRO Marine 2000, and 3/0 AWG for Freedom XC PRO Marine 3000" I am surprised this is on a Xantrex official channel.
Be sure to read the manuals because it shows the recommended wire size for the units and If those sizes are followed then the recommendation is true, one sizes smaller than the feed cables. If the customer chooses to use a cable of a larger size, then they must also increase the ground cable size.
I am installing a 817-2080 and wondered if you could tell me which way air flows from the fans. The manual is confusing because it says you need 5 inches from obstructions on dc side then says 2 inches on ac side Huh... The ac and dc are on the same side. That needs to be corrected. Does the fan pull heat out of the gfci side or do they blow air through to the ac and dc connection side? Thanks...
Hi Robert, the FreedomXC will need at least 2 inches of clearance for the air flow at either end. The 5 inch for the DC side is to accommodate the bend radius of thicker wires. The airflow will exhaust out the side were the wires are connected.
The PRO version has built-in communication which makes it easier for RV and boat manufacturers to install in factory. The PRO version also have a bigger charger compared to non PRO models and better surge rating.
@@XantrexTechnology Did the non pro work o.k. for you? I am going for the non-pro because I am 72 and not that computer literate. Plus a little cheaper. Will the non-pro work well with lithium batteries? Thanks for your reply...

I would love to have the inverter he just took out
Will this work with Victron Lithium batteries and a Victron BMS which sends a charge disconnect signal to all charge sources?

do you know if this is stackable so I can add more than one in parallel?
No the Freedom XC PRO marine is not stackable.
