I used to love going to Seattle for a bit of fun! I would catch a concert or a game, then head down to the square for some food and dancing. I could walk around safely, laugh and talk to other people, and always had fun! Unfortunately the last time I went it was nasty and unsafe, I will never go back.
It depends on the area. I would know because I go to Seattle often, and I have never seen any of this happen. If you just happen to end up on some random back road outside of downtown, then maybe, or even the infamous Aurora Avenue, but it's not like this everywhere.

I currently live in Seattle, and this is part of a rightwing campaign to smear progressive, blue cities. Yes this occurs in a tiny area, about 2 blocks, on Aurora Ave in the north end. Seattle is too expensive for most, like any along the Pacific coast. But it is still quite a beautiful, lush, leafy, well-healed, vibrant city with a robust economy and promising future. This1 smear campaign reminds me of the 90's, when locals would exaggerate claims of bad weather and (apocryphal) reports of relentless, dreary rainfall. Lousy weather, they believed, would prevent the teeming masses (especially Californians) from moving here and driving up housing prices. It worked for awhile, but word soon got out about the stunning beauty, the super mild climate, and the sheer abundance of The Emerald City. The allure of Seattle continues to draw millions and shows little signs of slowing down. It continues to be an interesting, original, upscale haven for its highly educated and wealthy citizens.

Shoreline starts at 145th. Shoreline put lots of money into making North Aurora into a decent and well designed boulevard and do not tolerate what Seattle encourages on it's portion of Aurora Avenue.

I currently live in Seattle, and this is part of a rightwing campaign to smear progressive, blue cities. Yes this occurs in a tiny area, about 2 blocks, on Aurora Ave in the north end. Seattle is too expensive for most, like any along the Pacific coast. But it is still quite a beautiful, lush, leafy, well-healed, vibrant city with a robust economy and promising future.
This1 smear campaign reminds me of the 90's, when locals would exaggerate claims of bad weather and (apocryphal) reports of relentless, dreary rainfall. Lousy weather, they believed, would prevent the teeming masses (especially Californians) from moving here and driving up housing prices. It worked for awhile, but word soon got out about the stunning beauty, the super mild climate, and the sheer abundance of The Emerald City. The allure of Seattle continues to draw millions and shows little signs of slowing down. It continues to be an interesting, original, upscale haven for its highly educated and wealthy citizens.
