Loving the Feedback, and I'm having fun providing detailed analysis, so on to the game! The two cards this time are: (1:30) Multi-Shot (against Guardian Augmerchant and Khartut Defender) [Board Clear vs Duplicate Ping or Sticky Stall] (2:57) Bonechewer Vanguard (against Eccentric Scribe and Cobalt Spellkin) [Big Taunt vs Sticky Swarm or Dragon Value] --- *For Cobalt Spellkin:* There are only Seven 1-cost Hunter Spells available in Arena. *Quests/Sidequests:* Unseal the Vault, Clear the Way, and Toxic Reinforcements *Targeted Damage:* Arcane Shot, and Rapid Fire *Card Draw:* Tracking *Worst Outcome:* Bestial Wrath Given this limited pool of >50% slow/low value spells, I will basing my comparison on the value of having a 5 Cost Dragon over a Big Taunt, rather than the potential value of the card in arena. --- *Game 1* (5:49) Multi-Shot was drawn. (The Second Guardian Augmerchant wouldn't matter much in this position, but Zephrys would have been active. The Khartut Defender obviously couldn't have been played this turn either. Double Augmerchant on Turn 3 would have been an interesting line, but at the cost of floating a mana, I would think Trump would still go with the Vulpera play. On Turn 4, the Double Augmerchant line would have been interesting as it would leave the Paladin with no minions on board and apply pressure, but I'm not sure he would want to go so wide against Paladin.) (8:15) Multi-Shot was played. (Honestly, the Augmerchant could have been an interesting alternative for this turn as he could have taken out the Gurubashi Berserker with Augmerchant's Ping, played EVIL Cable Rat to use the Goblin Lackey to take out the Troll Batrider and still have enough mana for a hero power. This would have left two 1/1 minions against One 2/1 Sandwasp and allow for the Sidquest to be completed next turn. Remember I'm rating these plays under the assumption that all RNG is consistent as if he had selected the Augmerchant instead of the Multi-shot. This play would have used all of his mana, applied better pressure, and used the same number of cards as this play with better support for the Sidequest. The Paladin's next turn would have probably resulted in the same board state, but the option to swarm the board with 1/1 Leper Gnomes, and play the Unleash the Beast would have been much stronger.) (N/A) Bonechewer Vanguard wasn't drawn or played this game. *Game 2* (11:27) Multi-Shot was part of the Mulligan phase. (He would definitely had kept the Guardian Augmerchant in this case as it would allow for both early game pressure, and for Zephrys to be active.) (15:00) Bonechewer Vanguard was drawn. (With the 4 mana remaining when drawn, none of the other options would have been impactful/playable. Though even on the next turn, the other options would not have mattered. Not even the fringe case where it BOTH Vanguard and Multi-Shot had been their alternative options would have changed the play.) (N/A) Multi-Shot wasn't drawn or played this game. *Game 3* (21:59) Multi-Shot was drawn. (As Trump said, the Multi-shot would have dealt ONE damage this turn if it had been played. Alternatively, the second Guardian Augmerchant would have been leagues better this turn as it would deal that One damage, allowed the 5 damage to go face, and resulted in the same board state at the end of the turn. But even the Khartut Defender would have had its own benefits as it would have protected his minions, prevented lethal outs, and healed him even if the Paladin could have removed it in some way.) (N/A) Bonechewer Vanguard wasn't drawn or played this game. *Game 4* (N/A) Bonechewer Vanguard wasn't drawn or played this game. (N/A) Multi-shot wasn't drawn or played this game. *Game 5* (30:11) Bonechewer Vanguard was drawn and played. (Cobalt Spellkin wouldn't have been impactful enough here, and against the possibility of Explosive Trap, the Eccentric Scribe would have been a very weak play if the opponent had a way to pop it. Therefore, Bonechewer Vanguard was the best choice for this turn.) (31:13) Multi-Shot was drawn. (The Duplicate Guardian Augmerchant would have allowed him to buff the Vanguard by 2 attack and give it divine shield, or give the Imprisoned Vilefiend Divine shield, so that it could survive trading into the Primordial Explorer. This would have left enough mana to still play the Supreme Abyssal and represent a better board state, not that it mattered much. Khartut Defender would have been a slightly worse option, but it could have served as another taunt option if the opponent had a way to remove the Vanguard.) *Game 6* (32:36) Bonechewer Vanguard was drawn. (On draw, neither of the alternatives would have been playable. On Turn 5, it might have been reasonable to trade with the Hippogryph and play a Cobalt Spellkin, but he might have still gone with the Rusteed Raider play. On Turn 6, he probably would have played Cobalt Spellkin, and definitely would have played Eccentric Scribe as a way to take out the Dragonmaw Sky Stalker in a value trade or for a better board position.) (33:57) Bonechewer Vanguard was played. (Honestly, this was the best option for this turn as the Eccentric Scribe would be a weak play against the Priest's board state, and the Cobalt Spellkin would be worse even if he had the best RNG outcome of the two 1-cost spells being Arcane Shot and Rapid Fire.) (37:23) Zephrys was drawn and played. (I'm making note of this because in this EXACT case, the Duplicate Guardian Augmerchant instead of the Multi-shot would have prevented Zephrys from being played. That said, even if Zephrys had not been active, Trump would still have survived with 2 health given that Hunter's Mark would have been the draw on the next turn. He could have played the Yeti in this situation and still maintained a powerful board state against the opponent.) *Game 7* (39:08) Bonechewer Vanguard was drawn. (None of the other options would have been playable on this turn. Any synergies that Cobalt Spellkin could provide would be similarly met with Twin Tyrant.) (40:05) Zephrys was played. (Again, I'm making a note here that if the Duplicate Guardian Augmerchant had still been in his deck, he would not have been able to get Zephrys' battlecry this turn. Given that he already had a solid curve of 5,6,7,8 he probably would have simply used the hero power this turn. Given how the turns played out the Zephrys play was probably stronger overall.) (42:28) Multi-shot was drawn. (As a Duplicate Guardian Augmerchant, it would allow Zephrys to be active with a reasonable possibility that he would be playing from behind at this point. This could have allowed for a powerful swing turn, but its difficult to say how the Paladin would have responded earlier. As Khartut Defender, it probably wouldn't have been played over Bonechewer Vanguard this turn.) (42:32) Bonechewer Vanguard was played. (This was the best option for this turn as it allows him to protect Xavius from direct damage, and provide a secondary threat for the Paladin to deal with. Both Cobalt Spellkin (even with perfect Spell generation RNG) and Eccentric Scribe would not provide sufficient pressure against the Paladin's hand and board state. Given the Paladin's play, he might have reasonable taken 10 damage to face and be forced to make suboptimal trades on the following turn just to stay alive. And he certainly wouldn't have been able to get lethal on turn 9 had those trades occurred.) *Game 8* (46:07) Zephrys was played. (The Duplicate Guardian Augmerchant would have prevented this play from occurring. The following turns would have been a bit complicated due to the Warrior mostly playing from behind due to this turn. I believe an active Zephrys turn allowed Trump to win this game and the duplicate might have resulted in a loss.) (N/A) Bonechewer Vanguard wasn't drawn or played this game. (N/A) Multi-Shot wasn't drawn or played this game. *Game 9* (49:10) Multi-shot was drawn. (As a Duplicate Guardian Augmerchant, it would allow Zephrys to be active, but considering he drew the other Guardian Augmerchant on turn 1, it probably wouldn't have been played regardless.) (49:57) Multi-shot was played. (This was certainly the best Multi-shot position, but I do believe that the Bonechewer Brawler + Guardian Augmerchant line might have also worked. Realistically though, removing immediate threats from the board to allow for more options later rather than this slow play alternative, proves that Multi-shot was the best option for this turn.) (N/A) Bonechewer Vanguard wasn't drawn or played this game. --- Bonechewer Vanguard performed significantly better than either Cobalt Spellkin or Eccentric Scribe could have in the same situations. It's very high health total, growing attack effect, and reasonable cost for the stat line allowed it to serve as both a threat and as a crucial control card necessary for surviving into the late game. Multi-shot performed MUCH worse than Guardian Augmerchant and about neutral compared to Khartut Defender. HOWEVER, if Guardian Augmerchant had been chosen, it would have prevented Zephrys from being played in several key games. I would say that had Zephrys not been included in the drafting process that Guardian Augmerchant should have been chosen over Multi-shot, but due to its utility and its necessity in not preventing Zephrys from being used, it was probably the best option for this run. --- TL;DR + Bonechewer Vanguard performed very well, and was the best option for this run compared to Cobalt Spellkin and Eccentric Scribe. + Multi-shot performed much worse than Guardian Augmerchant, but because Guardian Augmerchant would have been a duplicate, Multi-shot was the best option for this run. (Khartut Defender would not have been a better option either.)

Not even joking -- how is there an arena meta when so much is out of your control with deck building? I don't play arena that much, but it seems like people just mostly pick the card that this program recommends them and then makes the best tempo plays and value trades they can. What does it mean for there to be a "meta" in this?
@@eiyukabe id argue that arena never had a meta, but more of a "playstyle" as you said, but there was a point where arena (two expansions specifically) was just who had the greediest decks that faced the least amount of aggro on the way to high wins. for the other 95% of the time it is TEMPO, which i guess can be called a meta over a "control/aggro meta"
In the first game I can't believe he picked toxic reinforcements over deadly shot. Yes, Paladin hero power kinda counters DS, but toxic reinforcements is so bad, especially because Trump is playing more of a late game control deck which he admitted during draft when he said that his hero power is basically useless. Also, the turn he chose to play the yeti and Xavius over twin tyrant is just, well, so greedy. The opponent had 8 dmg on board Trump had 8hp, at the very least trump would have removed 1 dmg from the board. Trump literally lost two a card that provided the opponent exactly 2 damage for lethal. The clip is somewhere around 11:00. At 6:00 is when trump chooses toxic over DS.
I like how he says "toxic reinforcements is pretty good this early." haha, you have to spend 6 mana on your hero power......hero powering in arena is almost always a bad thing early game unless you are rogue.
I have an interesting question: When you have a vancleef in hand and enough mana to use it, why does Zephrys not give you shadowstep? It is by far the best play (well maybe not if you have leathal) because you can get a 30/30 or even bigger vancleef with it.
one because zephyrs can't see your hand, and two zephyrs is hard coded not to give give bounce effects, if he did then could just play him to two every game to shadow step him and make him free (which is completely broken and very unhealthy for the game as the two balancing factors for zeph are his highlander restriction and the fact you have to pay 2 extra mana to get the ideal card. and the other broken bounce effect would have been vanish before it was HOF'd since that pretty much make playing minions pointless. short answer: it would be absolutely broken and kill the game.
Feel like Zephrys is a trap in current arena. The overall pool of cards in Arena is rather weak, but there's a group of best neutral cards that show up quite frequently in the draft and they carry arena runs HARD. Good examples are Twin Tyrant and the 1/8 Rush Taunt that gets +4 attack when played. In Hunter specifically, there's the 3 mana 2/3 poison dragon that discovers another dragon, plus all the other amazing Hunter cards that you'll generally want 2 of. I've built Zephrys decks 4 times so far, and every time i've picked it i've been disappointed. If you have him alongside medicore legendaries, sure, pick him and build a deck around him, but if the choice is ever close, 100% take the other legendary and stack up on the OP duplicates.
Does anyone know where I can find the amazing deck-builder Trump uses whenever he's playing in Arena? I'm also a frequent Arena player but more often than not I build decks with little to no synergies, and I bet that this tool could really help a lot.
Is that arena deck builder built in to PC versions of the game or is it a thing you installed? If you did install it, what is it called? Somebody please answer.
Trump: I probably won't be hitting hero power much.
Also Trump: Let's try Toxic Reinforcements, that's a cool trick!

Agreed most games I don’t even draw zephyrs overated
Twin Tyrant and the 9/9 Rush seem ridiculous.
Am I the only one wishing he would still guess the number of wins the decks will go?
Yeah, not even Zephrys could create a miracle.
you shoulda picked the second zeph cus when you have one in your hand you have no dupes in the deck
right?
Right, still I do not think two Zephrys is a good idea, not too much consistency.
Man, u always get so many legendaries at arena, i never got one
Me either
Did Trumpo add more ads? I don't remember being interrupted this often
Love Trumpcard Arena! Yaaaay!
Half way through the video i was starting to ask when is zephrys going to save him
His battlecry is literally is save my butt or Win the game
30:28 lmao
Someone might've asked here already, but I haven't seen it. What is that beautiful outro music?
Does anyone know where I can find the amazing deck-builder Trump uses whenever he's playing in Arena? I'm also a frequent Arena player but more often than not I build decks with little to no synergies, and I bet that this tool could really help a lot.
Heartharena overwolf extension
Is that arena deck builder built in to PC versions of the game or is it a thing you installed? If you did install it, what is it called? Somebody please answer.
I think it might be called deck tracker
Did I really just see the major of value town choose a 7 mana 3/3 over... Anything else.
Ikr kinda cringe ngl
I hate playing arena, but definitely love watching it 😍😍
"Its a controlly deck i dont think i want to hero Power or go face"
>toxic reinforcment
First game hurt my soul
Till now I had no idea they changed Ilidan card name and look into Xavius name nad look.
Ridiculous choices... This game couldn't end well. 53:21 - 11 hp left then hitting a minion with 9 attack. Unbelievable!
Zephrys is SO high right now
Why is scrabiard colossus stil in arena isn’t that an insta win?
3:39 can anyone explain this (what elise said)
DavidsonLoops Might think it's not a good enough drop for the controlish deck and the negative synergy is probably Cult master
I played against MagicTurtle in EU server, dunno if it's the same person or someone else with the same name
the big boi 12/12 did work
Man I hate watching Trump some times. "IM ALMOST DEAD AND CAN GET RID OF SOME OF THIS DAMAGE, LETS PLAY BIG THREATS INSTEAD THOUGH."
4:30 stump the trump
Trump please keep making arena videos :)
I BELONG DOWN HERE
Does anyone know what he uses for that tier list overlay when making a deck?
every deck drafted is value
Arena is just about twin tyrants
I had an arena game yesterday where my opponent held onto 2 cards for like 15 turns... Then right before he died he dropped 2 maindeck zephyrs 0_0
keep uploading more arena
Trump really isn't an Arena player.
48:11 can we get an F in the chat?
Technically Trump did escape the 7 curse
Zaphrez looks so high lol
Ye-tah? I didnt know Trump was a WCW kid damn
Ahh, first game of arena 😂
Funny to see he talks about how great he is with scoundrel and then proceeds to make the WORST possible choice and losing because of it
Toxic Reinforcements makes DH cry too
nooo you chose twin tyrant over wisp ,she will have her revenge!
Synergies: Xavius
Trump Labs must have run out of funding to create more decks. Time for Arena Fundraising!
