Even though Cassie deservedly received a lot of flack for seeing her friend's ex, Nate also slept with HIS friend's ex. However, maybe it's not acknowledged since McKay ceases to be plot relevant in Season 2, only appearing in the New Year's Eve scene before disappearing afterwards.
People care more about Cassie, because Nate abused Maddy, willingly fucking your best friends abuser is disgusting
nate is suppose to be a villain so him sleeping with mckays ex is the least cruel thing he has ever doneand its not even surprising
I think they did that for a reason.. Nate’s a pos and I don’t think he has any real genuine relationships with anyone really because of how sexually confused he is.. he can’t let himself be a person who isn’t a gross manipulative asshole so they see it less of a betrayal on his part and more of its part of his character.

Actually I heard that McKay wasn’t supposed to be in season 2. I think the New Year’s Eve party was his last episode so I think that’s why they never showed his reaction to it. Plus he’s in college and I don’t think it’s that’s important to guys that don’t even see each other anymore he’d probably just block Nate and that would be it 😂

Mona being revealed as “A” should’ve been higher on the list. She ran her best friend/only true friend over with a car causing her to be in a huge ass leg cast and a wheel chair, outed Emily not once but TWICE, sent a letter to aria’s mom about her dads affair essentially causing them to break up and aria to go through a whole bunch of family drama while dealing with “A”, and a whole much more. And while she was being “A” she faked “A” messages to herself so the girls wouldn’t suspect her.
Everything Mona did to aria, Spencer and Emily doesn't count

She also knocked out Bethany Young who she thought was Alison. because Alison teased her, overreact much?) And all the characters glossed over the fact that Mona knew Alison was alive and never told anymore. Mona was crazy.
And Mona almost killed Emily too if it wasnt for Allison saving her! The episode in season 2 where they think the psychologist is going to die and Mona trap Emily inside with a running car making her run out of air

Dan shooting Keith was the ultimate betrayal imo. I’ve seen one tree hill so many times and I believe seeing Karen so happy with his brother pushed him over the edge. Karen was his true love. He never loved Deb like that. The reason he stayed with her because he thought that was the right thing to do.Lucas was robbed of the only father he ever knew and Karen lost her love/child’s father. People in the town went months thinking jimmy killed Keith💔

@@ChrisAtheist you think that was a bigger betrayal? Brooke isn't innocent in my eyes. She was a mean girl in the first few episodes. She was so mean to Haley in the beginning. Brooke knew peyton wanted lucas that's why she said "I dare you tell people how you really feel about lucas". She tried so hard to get lucas to like her even by getting in his car naked. She tired to push Nathan and peyton back together and it backfired on her. Let's not forget brooke slept with nathan the same night him and peyton broke up. She betrayed peyton too but the only difference is peyton didn't find out until years later. Also what she said about peyton mother was horrible. All of the one tree hill characters are flawed.
Man i remember Euphoria S2 came out literally a month after exactly what happened to maddy happened to me (with the change of some details). i didn’t even find out by way of them. i found out through social media. and that shit hit HOME. i never got closure, so seeing maddy confronting cassie and getting some form of closure gave me a little closure in a way.

I feel like there are plenty of betrayls in Degrassi, the major one was how Spinner lied on Jimmy, in result he got shot. Like Degrassi should really have its own list of betrayls because there is just so many to choose from. But the Emma and Peter thing really shouldn't be on the list, but its really wild.
Yes! I think there’s a girl on tiktok who was dedicated to everything Degrassi Next generation.. ugh forgot her name though but she had soooo much stuff. It was great to reminisce 😂😂
The Jimmy and Spinner one wasn't even that bad of a betrayal, it just had the worst consequence. I mean all that Spinner did was lie to rick about how Jimmy was the one who did the prank, he didn't know that Rick would end up shooting him because out that. Mind you Jimmy was becoming friends with the guy who abused Terri and put her in a coma, so Spinner had a right to be mad and is also a betrayal on Jimmy's part. Emma and Peter's thing was definitely worse. I mean this is the guy that took advantage of a drunk girl to film a video then shared the video to everyone because she rejected him. That's called revenge porn and is a crime especially when it features an underage person. Plus what if someone uploaded that video to a porn site and it affected her future, anything could happen. Then Emma who knows what he did, proceeds to date him? That's way worse than a lie that Spinner did end up owning up to.
@@nutellacelery8830 I don’t think that Jimmy was becoming friends, I just believe that he was trying to work with Ricky throughout the academic bowl they had. Ricky was wrong and people were messing with him and bullying him. He could have been left alone to where people minded their business. It was a betrayal because you wouldn’t have expected Spinner “Jimmy’s best friend” to throw him under the bus the way that he did.

@@gm.8805 That wasn't his intention though. Spinner never planned for jimmy to get shot and was extremely remorseful about it. Emma dated a guy who hurt Manny and she wasn't even sorry about it. Betrayals are more about the intent than the consequence. You actually have to intend or be ignorant to betray. What Spinner did was definitely a betrayal but it wasn't a big one. All he meant to do was get back at Jimmy for being friends with Terri's abuser. It just had a bigger consequence in the end. He never actually meant to hurt Jimmy that way.
I HATED the fact Blair was traded for a hotel. I was like, “Chuck, how COULD you?”

*CORRECTION TO YOUR COMMENTARY:* Joey dumped Dawson to "go find herself," in season 2, not in season 3. She then proceeded to date Jack. After they broke up due to Jack being gay, Joey and Dawson got back together. But Joey dumped Dawson in the season 2 finale. This time, it was because of all of the crap that went down when her father ended up being arrested for selling drugs. In season 3, she tried to get back together with Dawson. This time, he rejected her. *This* is the season when Dawson asked Pacey to keep an eye on Joey, which led to Pacey and Joey falling in love.
I'm surprised that you didn't mention the moment when Dylan and Kelly betrayed Brenda in "Beverly Hills, 90210."
I think that the the whole Pacey/Joey/Dawson thing shouldn't even merit an honorable mention compared to the others on this list. Some people take that whole "your friend's exes are forever off-limits" to an extreme, especially at the high school level. If your friend is the one who dumped the ex in question, IMO, they can date whoever they want. (I don't necessarily apply this to former spouses, people you share kids with, or very serious relationships in general.) Dawson was so selfish with Joey in season 3. I agreed with him not getting back together with her in the beginning of the season, but he seemed to think that he was putting his pretty toy on a shelf until he wanted to play with her again. Then when he's ready to be with her several months later, he can't believe that she had the audacity to not just be sitting around waiting, and he had so little respect for his "best friend" Pacey, he thought he had to just be with her for superficial reasons. I agree they should have told Dawson sooner, but they were trying to tell him when he accidentally found from Jen. As a 90's teen, I was Team Pacey all the way!

Dylan Brenda and Kelly from Beverly Hills 90210 should have been on the list or an honorable mention. Also in Glee when Blaine spends the first half of the final season dating the love of his life’s former bully. That was a really big betrayal especially since he had already cheated on Kurt two season prior.
Chuck traded Blair for a hotel and people still shipped them, claiming to care about Blair... it was gross on screen and off screen.

Cassie hooking up with Nate and stabbing maddy in the back is total betrayal, like Cassie made a lot of bad decisions and left maddy feeling like shit. But I’m so happy my girl maddy kicked her ass for revenge in the S2 finale. Like I want maddy to be happier in the next season and Cassie be better in season 3 and forget about Nate. Then mona revealing she was A was really shocking even for the liars cause mona was great friends with Hanna as well and even good terms as well. I love how euphoria was 7 and then PLL Is 6 ❤️
I don’t think anyone feels bad for Cassie in the season finally but I also think we all want her to start making better choices.

That episode in One tree Hill where Dan shot Keith is very sad it was even more sadder because then blamed the entire thing on Jimmy who later shot himself even though he was innocent very heartbreaking episode I cried when I first watched it

@@Missmagazinebura yes I hadn’t read all the books at the time because my library didn’t have them all and I like to read in order. Eventually I read the books. I didn’t know the show was based on a book series either when I began watching the show.
Toby shocked me the most, the moment when he turned around and you saw it was him in the hoodie. Even though it turned out he was just doing it to spy on Mona, but at the time I shouted, "No freaking way!!" at the screen, lol.

Kay, I'm just gonna say it, those pictures that were printed out and used in Jessica's court episode of season 2 of 13 Reasons Why is very much glamourising victim blaming, that is not okay, you can show these issues without basically reenacting the cruelty of victim blaming for the whole planet to see.
All the breaking of the fourth wall and narrating that Rue's character does makes it way easier to distance yourself from those graphic scenes. Which isn't all that surprising given Sam Levinson has actual experience with drugs and addiction, it's one of the things taught in rehab, how to distract your mind away whatever trigger has brought on the urge to use or drink.
