Thanks for posting this. I rode in one purchased by CNR in the 1970's. The late March trip hit a raging blizzard in Saskatchewan and it was surreal being up there in that warm, glass bubble while the wind whipped the snow against the glass. The Super Continental was going pretty fast too, trying to make up time. The white tablecloths in the dining car didn't stay white very long that evening.
...ahh, I remember riding those many times. bakc thne were just coach seating with a cafe/lounge downstairs. Best part of the run to be up there for was through the Dells and along the Mississippi River.

Thanks for posting this. I rode in this dome car when NCDOT Rail Divison still owned it for use on the Piedmont trains
These cars were built for the Milwaukee Road in 1952 for the Olympian Hiawatha, among other trains. They went to Amtrak in 1971.
