    This looks and sounds fucking rad. I just ordered one and Im completely stoked on it arriving! Thanks for the demo, homie!

      It is - I just bought one "used" and was described as in excellent condition, but honestly to me it looked completely new, and I ended up saving $150 just for someone to open the box basically. It a great introductory analog synth that actually has solid polyphony (6 voices max).
      Some people get hung up on it not having a visual menu, but that's probably why they're able to sell it for the price it is, and I just use a PureData control surface that has literally everything on it. Plus, you get used to the menu style pretty quickly, anyway.

    6:49 Just those raw oscillators, they are so vibrant, they move something inside me. This video made me buy it over all the other cheap poly analogue.

    Great job! I like that you have a sounds only companion video to your excellent review. I just got this synth a week ago and am loving it. I had a Juno 6 back in the day, so this was immediately appealing given my small studio space. And I have to say, the more I play it the more I'm enjoying it's own unique sound and vibe. And even the controls compromises seem incredibly well thought out given its size. Subbed and look forward to more of your videos. Cheers.

    Why not give more examples of chord play with a polysynth?

      Yep, yep! It's a lot of synth for the money, if you can get over the interface!

      Plus you can polychain two together for 12 voice polyphony! ... This might be my next analog synth purchase.

    So does this like not have fader caps on it. They look like the bits that the fader caps clip onto. I can buy some caps for this and pop them on? I prefer the caps where my finger nestles into the groove baby.

    If you ever release the patches as a downloadable Sysex , count me in 👍🏻 happy to pay , these sound great and I am not great at getting around this synth sound design wise , but I do love how it sounds …

    пропустите через него что-нибудь ПАФОСНОЕ ( типа Государственного ГИМНА ), всем известное, что будет звучать знакомо и совершенно НЕПРИВЫЧНО!

    I hear a lot of complaints about this synth having "scratchy attack envelopes" which are supposedly audible on UA-cam demos. I can't hear them. Anyone who owns it care to comment?

    which do you think sounds better, the nymphes or the deepmind?

    • @Bloom_Music
      @Bloom_Music  Рік тому +2

      If we’re talking strictly the raw sound, I much prefer the Nymphs. However, because of it’s more advanced modulation options and effects, the Deepmind is the more capable synth, and can produce much more complex patches. If that’s important to you, the Deepmind might be the right choice. But for me, if I’m just considering the pure sound, the Nymphes wins hands down!

    • @xisotopex
      @xisotopex Рік тому

      @@Bloom_Music got the deepmind already, but have not been super impressed with it. looking for a different flavor, might even sell the deepmind. not really impressed with the effects, soundwise, I seem to be in the minority i think

    I'd love to know the settings for you first patch ! Lovely. May sound silly but just for that patch I'd like to have. Listened a lot to Pro800 demos and I don't like its flavor. For now, Nymphes' flavor charms me a lot, I've seen 4 demos, only one I disliked. I'm just concerned by the interface. Is it easy to program a sound from scratch ? And to assign you modulation routes ?
    Thanks ppl

    • @Bloom_Music
      @Bloom_Music  8 місяців тому

      Unfortunately, these patches are long gone, so I’m not sure about the settings for the first one. But your interface questions would definitely be answered by watching my Nymphes review. 😁

    • @calcairecamhi

      Well I bought it and loved it. The UI is easy to learn, not a big issue. The 14 faders are still quite benefic for on the fly tweak! And it sounds great !@@Bloom_Music

    • @Bloom_Music

      I know, I know… I’m not sure what I was thinking when I did this. I got a top down setup and did exactly that for all of my videos since the Nymphes. 🙂

  • @sumocloud
    @sumocloud Рік тому

    Ok the pads which start around 0:40 clearly have a click at the beginning of the attack phase as if the oscillators are not being reset in sync with note on. Was this video done with the updated firmware?

    • @Bloom_Music
      @Bloom_Music  Рік тому +1

      This video was made before the new firmware was released. But nothing in the firmware would change this. The Nymphes has free running oscillators. They do not reset with note on.

    • @sumocloud
      @sumocloud Рік тому

      @Bloom Music thanks. That's not SO bad for this synth I guess .. wasn't really thinking about basslines. Still slightly disappointing.

  • @rowlandoconnor3354
    @rowlandoconnor3354 6 місяців тому

    Wow what a beauty. Do the images of the synth match the patches being played?

    • @Bloom_Music
      @Bloom_Music  6 місяців тому

      These were all programmed from scratch, so, technically, yes... However, because you switch back and forth between two layers while programming, you couldn't recreate these patches by just copying the fader positions, because you don't know which layer was most recently edited for each fader (nor the hidden value of the layer each fader is NOT currently reflecting). Hopefully that makes sense, lol.

      @@Bloom_Music Honestly, I just ended up using a Pure Data control surface for it. I could've made my own, but just paid $15 for someone who's selling one, and it connects to literally everything, including being able to save and load all presets.
      That way, I can also save unlimited banks of all 49 custom presets. For the other stuff like MIDI options, etc., I got used to the menu system without any visual indicator pretty quickly - that's the main thing people dislike about this synth, but I'm sure it's why Dreadbox is able to sell it at the very reasonable price they do. I also got mine "used", but it was pretty much just open box and looked totally new with nothing wrong with it. Ended up saving over $100 as a result.

    • @Bloom_Music

    Are these default patches or custom?

    • @Bloom_Music
      @Bloom_Music  2 роки тому +8

      These are all custom presets! I created an init patch in the first slot and used that as a starting point for each patch going forward. The default presets are mostly good, especially if you use them as a starting point to mod from. Not a bunch of wonky, non-musical presets like some synths.
