The Pyramid was referring to a strip club his girl "cleopatra" was workin at, it's comparing the former status and expectations of dark women back when they were rulers, and in present times a sex symbol. And nobody can be expected to know ALL that without multiple listens, so a great reaction again from yall 🫡🤝🏼 hope yall are doin well, and I think you guys would really like Daniel Caesars first project 'Freudian', it's soul/r&b and has no misses in my opinion
I think you guys may have misinterpreted bad religion a little, the song isn't controversial or actually about religion in traditional sense at all. the song is about unrequited love. Frank paints an image of entering a taxi, his driver is obviously a religious man as he starts to prey for frank as he can see he's distressed, frank allows him to continue saying "I guess it couldn't hurt me" and in turn frank opens up about why he's feeling the way he is, he loves someone who he feels could never love him. to me its such a vivid picture, and so beautifully written. the last line pretty much sums up the song "its a bad religion to be in love with someone who could never love you, only a bad religion could have me feeling the way I do"
Been a lot of fun watching you two listening and talking about all this great Music. Especially Seeing the Old fella getting melted time and time again by Frank Ocean is so endearing and fun. Keep it up lads🍻
the whole album is called Channel Orange for a reason. Frank Ocean is my favorite creative mind because he knows how to really catch the essence of a subject in such a beautiful and imperfect human way. It is called Channel Orange cause all the songs are like flipping through a radio station every interlude is perfectly placed. you can even hear him flipping through the channels when a song or interlude changes. He also talks about the really deep triple meaning of bad religion about homosexuality in religion when you love another person (man or god) that can never love you the cause of a religious narrative, but also a religion that makes you get on your knees in hopelessness is a bad religion. I can talk on and on about the deeper meanings across this album like the duality of how women used to be worshiped to how they are now in pyramids.
dad, you are my spirit animal! 😂 just love seeing (and feeling) people experience frank ocean for the first time ❤ great reaction! much love from brazil 🇧🇷
Love your reaction, this is my first video on your channel. Was excited for you listen to Pyramids and especially Lost, because it’s such a vibe. Love that you both enjoy it so much!
“One of the differences from this album & Blonde…you’d hear a song…& it’d be two songs. Not noticing that much on this.” “Not at the moment, not at the moment” Incredibly prescient comments right before Pyramids plays haha 📺🍊
At 34:51 , you mention the pyramid being a brothel. You are actually on the right track yea, Frank Ocean is commenting about her working at a pyramid (strip club). Pyramids is one of my favourite tracks from Frank.
I was lucky enough to see him live in Manchester, Parklife Festival. It is by far the best show I've ever seen in my life and I've been very lucky to see lots of my favorite artists live. The way he connected with the crowd without much crowd interaction is something I haven't seen at other shows. If you are interested there was a fan edit made of his cochella headline performance last year and I could send it your way through google drive or whatever worked for you? He performed songs from blonde and songs from Channel Orange at it. As far as new music goes he mentioned at that festival last year that there is a new album somewhere and back when he released his last few singles it appeared to be leading up to an album but then covid happened and his brother died and rumors are that the album was scrapped. Great reaction again
Amazing! I've been waiting since the announcement of this rollout. Seriously solid format, you both have a great way of describing and putting life to how the tracks make you feel. Frank is a very special individual who fully understands the creative process so it being appreciated and heard is exactly the reaction expected! I commented on your Blonde video about an album, I got another one! Check out Ants From Up There by Black Country, New Road. One of the greatest rock records I have ever heard! Cheers B)
Wow thanks mate 👍🤩 really appreciate your comments ❤️ means a lot to us 😉 will look into your suggestion .. sounds very interesting 🤔👍 we got such a long list to try n get through as the channel grows 😮💨😵💫🫨 😂
Andre 3000 is one of the frontmen for OutKast…..one of the greatest American R&B/HipHop groups of all time. PLEASE give their stuff a listen if you haven’t 😮😭😭
The end of channel orange, transitions into the beginning of Endless. You have to hear Endless, it’s underrated as hell but some of the greatest music of all time.
Ahhhh I love this album! Earl Sweatshirt who was on Super Rich Kids was part of the Odd Future collective with Frank, Tyler, The Creator and other artists. You should definitely check out Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, The Creators music! Great Reaction!
I love Frank Ocean's work. It's sad that he hasn't really dropped in like 8 years or something, lol. Just wondering if you guys were going to go through more of kanye's discog? Always going to be a good video from you two.
I promise you his 3rd album Endless is worth listening to. Undeniably great as the others, if not the best. Isn’t nearly as popular due to its limited music video album length reach. Look into it, he fooled his music label into him getting out of his contract for independence.
The song “Bad Religion” actually does not refer to religion. It’s about “unrequited love” or one-sided love. He worships and loves someone and they don’t love him back.
so entertaining how much Craig is floored by Frank. Frank is 1 of 1. There is and has never been a Frank Ocean. I'm sure you both can see that at this point in your experience of his material.
Great comment 👍😉 thanks for your feedback 👍 Absolutely love and appreciate the quality of FO work … can’t stop playing them since we reacted to him … especially Blonde .. a gem discovered for sure ❤️🔥
Would absolutely love for you guys to react to house of balloons it’s a must listen!! Also d’angelo is someone y’all will love. Start off with Voodoo for him!😊
guys you need to do endless by frank ocean as well. It isn't on streaming services but it is absolutely excellent and worth a listen. It is especially experimental, maybe even more so than blonde.
it isn't nearly as well known because it was released in the leadup to blonde as a video, but it is every bit as interesting. In my opinion at least 2 of his best records are on it. People like jonny greenwood and james blake worked on it.
if your loving frank oceans music you would definitely love Daniel Caesars NEVER ENOUGH album that he dropped last year incredible album But since NEVER ENOUGH is also a an rnb type album, to switch it up listen to Quadeca's concept album 'I Didn't Mean to Haunt You' an album about the perspective of a ghost and thats all I'll say about it.
Thanks for the videos as always. Please please please do House of Balloons by the weeknd and then eventually Kissland by the weeknd. It will blow your mind.
Great reactions to both albums. If you guys ever want to react to a lyrical rapper try some Lupe Fiasco I kid you not he will absolutely blow your brains out he's the GOAT imo
Pilot Jones, to me, is about a love that revolves on the highs rather than the lows as well. I’m not so sure where the term Pilot Jones comes from but the way I interpret it as is a guide. Someone who was helping him find that ecstasy/high. It’s obvious that it’s about drugs but it’s a double entendre. “I just don’t know why, I keep on trynna keep a grown women sober” or “You can’t get up and get a job, cuz this little huddles gettin you by” show that the lover is clearly on drugs and influenced heavily by them, but it also means the love and affection he’s receiving is HIS drug, hence why he can’t stop being involved with his lover despite their reluctance to improve aka “But I ain’t been touched in a while, by the dealer”
bad religion isn’t about religion at all. the line “if it brings me to my knees it’s a bad religion” is just referring to if someone or something brings you to your knees you shouldn’t practice it.
Love this channel so so much. You 2 have a great relationship, has to be a Tyler the Creator reaction next. i'd start with IGOR not necessarily a rap album but a musical masterpiece. All produced by himself every single note. Some mega hidden features too but all used as instruments and layers more so than standard verses. Its a heartbreak album
Please listen to Nostalgia, Ultra by Frank Ocean. It was his mixtape that brought him into fame and caught the ears of Beyonce and Jay-Z, which then he signed with Def Jam
In my opinion, you definitely shouldn’t focus too hard on the lyrics and what they mean when listening to music for the first time. Just take it all in the way you normally would if you were hearing it for the first time at a party or something.
Been waiting to watch this video. Glad I was able to watch it today great video! I highly suggest to go through Tyler the Creator discography. He has worked with Frank on multiple songs and I would recommend to from Flower boy to Igor to Call Me If You Get Lost. Again very enjoyable video as always
“You’d hear a song & it would change direction on Blonde, I’m not noticing that as much on this”
Right before Pyramids 😂
Andre 3000 has one of my favourite verses on Pink Matter. I would love to see you two react to one of outkasts album👍
Yes!! That album has a lot of Ocean influence too!
Thanks for your insight 👍❤️
Dad picks up on the Stevie Wonder influence after the "sweet life" listen. frank ocean is a huge stevie fan so good catch!
Endless is a must listen by him too
I think you guys may have misinterpreted bad religion a little, the song isn't controversial or actually about religion in traditional sense at all. the song is about unrequited love. Great insight … was our first listen 🎧👍 thanks
Awaken, My Love! by Childish Gambino has amazing production and lyrics!
They’d love itttt
Defo will be looking into this 👍 thanks for your suggestion ❤️
Been a lot of fun watching you two listening and talking about all this great Music. Especially Seeing the Old fella getting melted time and time again by Frank Ocean is so endearing and fun.
Keep it up lads🍻
Hahaha. Yeah he absolutely loves Frank Ocean that’s for sure 🤣 Appreciated 👍
Super Rich Kids is partly based on a true story of a person he knew that was on drugs and jumped or fell off a roof and died
Really … ☹️❤️
the whole album is called Channel Orange for a reason. Turning the Tables but European? I’m all for it 🙏
dad, you are my spirit animal! 😂
just love seeing (and feeling) people experience frank ocean for the first time ❤ great reaction! much love from brazil 🇧🇷
Nostalgia Ultra was Franks first solo project and it is also worth a listen imo!
Love your reaction, this is my first video on your channel. Was excited for you listen to Pyramids and especially Lost, because it’s such a vibe. Love that you both enjoy it so much!
John Mayer is the one playing the guitar riffs at the end of Pyramids
“One of the differences from this album & Blonde…you’d hear a song…& it’d be two songs. Not noticing that much on this.”
“Not at the moment, not at the moment”
Incredibly prescient comments right before Pyramids plays haha 📺🍊
The last song was him pretty much coming out along with the other last songs.
Interesting 👍🤔
listen to endless by frank ocean, its beautiful
His best album
Love how y’all discuss how the songs don’t really have beat switches like on Blonde, and then Pyramids comes on 🤣 Perfect timing
I know 🤦 what are we like 🙃😉👍
At 34:51 , you mention the pyramid being a brothel. You are actually on the right track yea, Frank Ocean is commenting about her working at a pyramid (strip club). Pyramids is one of my favourite tracks from Frank.
Another great album, keep the reactions coming guys 👍❤
Appreciated 👊

I believe your dad would love nostalja ultra the most out of all of frank ocean albums 4 sure
the guitar riff at the end of Pyramids was done by John Mayer.
Andre 3000 is one of the frontmen for OutKast…..one of the greatest American R&B/HipHop groups of all time. PLEASE give their stuff a listen if you haven’t 😮😭😭
I have to give ctrl with sza a listen. I Think u would really enjoy it 👌
This channel is awesome don’t change a thing 🔥🔥
Thanks man , Appreciated 👊
Pyramids, one of my favorite songs to date.
Let’s go lads!! Wish there was a bigger Frank discography to go through haha. Endless would be cool though
The end of channel orange, transitions into the beginning of Endless.
You have to hear Endless, it’s underrated as hell but some of the greatest music of all time.
Listen to nostalgia ultra by him and endless by him, his only 2 other albums
Ahhhh I love this album! Earl Sweatshirt who was on Super Rich Kids was part of the Odd Future collective with Frank, Tyler, The Creator and other artists. You should definitely check out Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, The Creators music! Great Reaction!
I always interpreted bad religion as him talking about unrequited love and equating it to worship
Yes I think you might be right there 🤔 lots of comments agree ❤️
His mixtape, Nostalgia Ultra, that put him on the map, is worth a listen.
Pyramids is my no.1 all time song in Spotify
That's John Mayer on guitar during the Pyramids outro.
Yeah I found that out ages after. Cheers mate 👍
I was just waiting for their reaction to Pyramids. Coming from someone who was floored by it, i was curious about other’s reaction.
I love Frank Ocean's work. It's sad that he hasn't really dropped in like 8 years or something, lol. Just wondering if you guys were going to go through more of kanye's discog? Always going to be a good video from you two.
Yeah the plan is to do Late Registration next week. Hopefully have it out for weekend 👍 Cheers Callum
@@TwistTheScript Looking forward to it 👍
Fun fact: 3k is playing the guitar on pink matter
Love your reactions so much!
Every UA-camr always forgets to check out the bonus song " Golden Girl" 😂
there are 2 other frank ocean albums/mixtapes, nostalgia ultra and endless. not on spotify but worth a reaction!
I promise you his 3rd album Endless is worth listening to. Undeniably great as the others, if not the best. Isn’t nearly as popular due to its limited music video album length reach. Look into it, he fooled his music label into him getting out of his contract for independence.
Worth the wait , great reaction buds 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Frank ocean - nostalgia
Igor or Cherry Bomb by Tyler The Creator would be awesome, lots of variety on both of those albums
The song “Bad Religion” actually does not refer to religion. It’s about “unrequited love” or one-sided love. He worships and loves someone and they don’t love him back.
If no one told you already
The last track is called voodoo you should listen to the song I think you’ll like it 👍
Always think of Stevie wonder when I hear Sweet Life
so entertaining how much Craig is floored by Frank. Frank is 1 of 1. There is and has never been a Frank Ocean. I'm sure you both can see that at this point in your experience of his material.
Great comment 👍😉 thanks for your feedback 👍 Absolutely love and appreciate the quality of FO work … can’t stop playing them since we reacted to him … especially Blonde .. a gem discovered for sure ❤️🔥

bad religion isn’t about religion at all. the line “if it brings me to my knees it’s a bad religion” is just referring to if someone or something brings you to your knees you shouldn’t practice it.
I recommend Deftones please! Very different from what you've reacted to.
Brent Faiyaz - WASTELAND
Why doesn't any reaction of Channel Orange include 'Golden Girl'?

In my opinion, you definitely shouldn’t focus too hard on the lyrics and what they mean when listening to music for the first time. Just take it all in the way you normally would if you were hearing it for the first time at a party or something.
Thanks 👍 totally agree 😉❤️
