I am testing today after a work course here at work for lvl 1 to do utt then later move to lvl 2 for shearwave and paut. Before this week 0 experience so now I'm youtubing for people like you. Ty for sharing your knowledge
@@saranyadevi6468 If you can process angle beam flaw detection, thickness/corrosion surveys should not be an issue. If you need to refer to a UA-cam video to find internal pitting with 0 degree, you probably shouldn’t be scanning.
Sir I have a thesis on ultrasonic testing of arc welded mild steel plates. I have got screenshot of the echo but I am unable to identify what type of defect it is can you please help me sir?
If I was scanning with my beam parallel to the weld searching for transverse cracks. How would that typically represent on the A-scan? Similar to the root and toe Crack? Wide base with high amplitude?
Correct, are you scanning on a plate or pipe? On a plate it should be as you have described, on a pipe as well, however because of the curvature of the pipe your root and cap echos will be after half and full skip or at least it will seem that way. In both cases a 45' probe should work best. As always, please revert to your procedure for more detailed input.
Great topic. As a level 3 this is one of the items that I feel is an important skill to develop.
As do I! Thanks

Hi... I learned a lot....Thank you from the Philippines..
You are very welcome
I just subscribed. Great content. I am a UT and ET level 2
Do you have any videos explaining 1st and 2nd critical angles also snells law and the velocity frequency wavelength. Thank you
Thank you so much!
Your videos are very helpful!! :))))
Finally my doubt is clear Thank you sir
You are very welcome!
Thanks for sharing 👍
Simple explanation. Thank U so much sir 😊
You are very welcome
Nice video!
Thanks!
Processing plant inside pipe surface internal pitting and internal corrosion echo pattern uptate sir.
Cool stuff I am on it. What thicknesses?
Pipe metal thickness

Your best chance is to plot it out and consult the echo patterns as well as common defects associated with the welding technique
