- Finally there was enough rain out West to fill up the Lower Nihutipu dam in Parau again. This lake is only a fraction of the total Auckland water storage but it is nearby and good to see that the lake is full.
I watched the whole dam video!
Beautiful spillway
Cool Rodal. Are boaters allowed on this lake. I could see a drunk boater driving off the edge.
it would be a dangerous ride.
I think such reservoirs usually have such floating lines further upstream to warn boaters to stay away 🙂 Pretty sure it’s illegal to be there on the water anyway.
That is one hell of a spillway! I thought the "Glory Hole" me at Monticello Dam was something to see, but this is really cool!!!
We got a Glory Hole dam too in lower Huia, will make a video off it when full and after Covid-Delta restrictions are over.
@@RODALCO2007 The restrictions will never be over.
Would be scary to be standing down there due to some situation lol. Dialing 112, telling them that you’re stuck in the spillway of that one dam with the funny shape, hoping the call operator gets it 😂
Um is that wall gonna withstand so much water for extended periods like that...? Water is a force to be reckoned with
Well it's lasted 75+ years, so it'll probably be ok for a while yet...
This is very impressive, thank you very much for bringing us this very interesting video presentation which is much appreciated by the people.
I'm having real trouble working out the scale of that thing. How far is the water dropping?
01:53, who else was waiting for the weeds to wash away?
That’s a dam good spillway, very pleasing to watch it in action.
Thanks for the video Ray, I’m guessing it is not something that a lot of people get to see.
nutz 😧
Beautiful and interesting!!
that dam has an interesting shape.
Re-energized the device
