  • Hoboken, located in Hudson County, New Jersey, is a key city within the New York metropolitan area. It hosts Hoboken Terminal, a significant transportation hub. According to the 2020 United States census, Hoboken's population was 60,419, marking a 20.8% increase from 2010 when it was 50,005. This followed a 29.6% rise from 2000, which had a population of 38,577. Estimates for 2023 by the Census Bureau put the population at 57,010, making it the 708th-most populous municipality in the nation. With a population density exceeding 42,400 inhabitants per square mile (16,400/km2) as of the 2010 census, Hoboken ranked as the third-most densely populated municipality in the United States among cities with over 50,000 residents. By the 2020 census, the population density had increased to over 48,300 inhabitants per square mile (18,600/km2), placing it fourth in the county, following Guttenberg, Union City, and West New York.
