Hey there, I had a question I wanted to ask on Reddit but my karma was too low. How do IGBT’s make a pure sine wave for 60hz? I understand that they switch on and off many times and the more they do that, the average looks more like a pure sine wave. If they only switch on and off 20,000 times a second and pulse width modulation works best when the pulses are extremely fast, how do you generate 60hz of ac?

I am currently working as a student intern studying research this fall, I was given the opportunity by my chemistry mentor, who was my general chemistry l professor in the fall 2021 semester, and am currently in my fifth week in research and cannot wait to recieve my associates degree as an undergraduate and transfer. A very nerve wracking time in my life, doing the best I can to graduate college on a high note❤️.
