Edit: I now know this isn't actually what would happen in a real rebirth run, because the score counter isn't set to 999999. Confetti does not happen in later levels. The pallette isn't desynced until level 254

@@InverseOfficial the score counter isn't set to 999999, which gives different cycle timings (and presumably makes confetti still happen)
in a real run, confetti doesn't happen this late

Not true. NES Tetris's true killscreen was achieved by human players relatively recently.

A kill screen is not the same as beating the game. The game was glitched out.

Theoretically Tetris has a limit, presuming a truly random sequence of blocks. You'll eventually run into a sequence in which you cannot complete a line.

After level 255 it loops back to 0, so there is no level 256 technically
