I love videos shopping with Ruth. She makes the shopping seem so fun ☺️ and I'm not a shopper 🤣 I'd be stuck in the cooking aisle for sure. I love cooking supplies and things It'd be interesting if Ruth got a wood shop! You could make wooden storage, tables, ornaments, everything! I thought it was cool that you all fixed the deck that one episode, I would love to do that!
Ruth is perfect when she shows and tells. Her voice is very soothing, and she does not get too excited with what she sees, which is very comfortable to watch. I love her.
Home goods and organising goods would probably get all my money 🤣 Japan knows how to use tiny spaces efficiently. Also Japanese kitchen gadgets look so interesting.
Ruth really knows her way around the store. When I was working, sometimes I would visit the local hardware store which had dishes, pans, silverware and a lot of things you wouldn't expect to find. I can tell she enjoys browsing. You are a perfectly matched couple, and Ruth is a natural beauty. Hand in hand you travel life.
That store is a combination of Farm & Fleet / Home Depot (or Menards). I want to see the home goods and gardening sections in person. The Japanese make some of the best hand weeders around.
Word "Tonkatsu" appears many times in the video. So, Tonkatsu she made before and introduced in previous video seems really good and delicious even from the view point of Japanses.
Ruth seems to be very familiar with tools and machineries. Does she "do it herself" in order to fix furniture or arrange her kitchen? If so, amazing! I usually buy flowers and grasses at the home center to cultivate in my garden.
When I go to America, I go to the Horse Center. There are many things that Japan does not have. It is not sold at Japanese hose centers such as lawn mowing tractors and DIY houses.
I watched the video over a day. It's a good family. Please continue to enjoy your life in Japan. Tokyo is fun, but Osaka is also a good city. Please come again with your family.
Now stores in the 🇺🇸 are getting ready for Spring 🙏⛩🌸 . A lot of different items in there. Now it’s the guy’s turn to show up the high end Electric Store from RC to TV’S etc. 👍📸🇯🇵
You would have to pry my fingers off of the shelves in the stationery aisle! All teachers LOVE office supplies! The kitchen stuff would also draw me in. I could look at kitchen doo dads forever!
Oh Karen, you're really going to love a video we just filmed - we went to Tokyo's Kitchenware street - a whole street just with kitchenware stores! We had a blast!
It does remind me a lot of Farm and Fleet. I just went to one recently for the first time. The only thing we bought was maple flavored root beer for my dad.
It sounds like Ruth keeps dropping hints to take a woodworking/ handy workshop class! Anniversary gift perhaps? ;) Either way it could be a great way to extend your community if you find a shared workshop space locally! Or maybe the church could set one up?
That store is as dangerous as Costco. The money I would spend there! I would probably spend most of the time in home decorating, kitchen and bath renos. Then get side tracked by the garden centre!
Forget about sightseeing, I just want to go to the Dollar Store and Home Improvement stores with Ruth! LOL Well ok I would want to see a bit of Japan to!
@@LIJ I was born in Illinois lived there still the age of 12 them moved to wisconsin if was from a town called winfield / west chicago area still have family all over illinois
Hi everyone we are going through dangerous weather at the moment, 100mph gust in parts of UK. I just had a lucky escape, after a garage had its reception area blown down. But regarding this video, that shop had a big selection of house hold goods but it looked expensive. Those flowers 💐 and plants 🪴 were beautiful. Shame your still wearing 😷 face masks. That's coming to an end soon in Uk. So have a great weekend speak soon ☺

I love her too :) Ha ha!
I hope Ruth can get a workshop someday. Would enjoy seeing what she’d create.
I hope so too!
Flowers, stationery, pet supplies, Japanese cooking items, and the wood shop

Thank you!
A few hours late but still something I look forward to every Friday!!
The kitchen aisle and home storage and office supply aisles would be my favorites.
I would also get stuck in the flower section outside! I spent so much money at our local flower sale back in April lol
It's so dangerous, isn't it? :)
That store is a combination of Farm & Fleet / Home Depot (or Menards). I want to see the home goods and gardening sections in person. The Japanese make some of the best hand weeders around.
Thank you Life In Japan family :D
Word "Tonkatsu" appears many times in the video. So, Tonkatsu she made before and introduced in previous video seems really good and delicious even from the view point of Japanses.

2:11 as you mentioned the music, that song that was playing must be "Official HIGE DANdism - No Doubt" If I'm not wrong

Yeah ... The plant section, the tool and wood area would be my weaknesses! 🤣 I mean ... Plants both at the entrance AND the exit?!
They got you coming and going!
@@LIJ They certainly do!

Crackers and snacks are emergency supplies and preserved food for times disaster.
Japan loves you

asakusa area kappabashi ?
Truly blessed to have many wonderful places and options to purchase wonderful things! God Bless🙏🏼😇
Absolutely!!
Crazy enough, wondering home improvement stores in Japan is a fun thing to do even on a Friday night!! even a good place to buy potatoes 🥔 😂
You never know what you may find! We probably like it so much because it's just so big, and that reminds us a bit of American stores :)
@@LIJ yes definitely has a Home Depot vibe for sure!! btw, i will be in Tokyo at the end of March!! finallyyyyy
Thanks for posting this. Wondered if other countries had a home depot. Food come in handy, I'd spend hours in such stores.
These kinds of stores are way fun
I always enjoy watching Life in Japan.
If you like home centers, you should go to Joyful Honda.I think you like it.
I especially recommend the Joyful Honda Chiba New Town Store, which is said to be the largest home center in Japan.
The whole store is interesting! I would love it! Flowers are my best… they are different! Québec/ Canada
I would spend a lot of time in the stationary section.
10:22 It's probably emergency food.
It's like an IKEA and Walmart and Lowes and Tractor Supply and Petsmart under one roof.
Yes indeed!
It does remind me a lot of Farm and Fleet. I just went to one recently for the first time. The only thing we bought was maple flavored root beer for my dad.
When we were in the States this last summer we shopped a bit at a Farm 'n Fleet while the kids were with Grandma horseback riding :)
A very nice offering

Oh, she's always wanted a workshop and hopefully our next house can have something like that for her!
That store is as dangerous as Costco. The money I would spend there! I would probably spend most of the time in home decorating, kitchen and bath renos. Then get side tracked by the garden centre!
The thing that really holds you back in Japan is the size of your home - not too much space for all the Costco and Kuroganeya purchases!
Forget about sightseeing, I just want to go to the Dollar Store and Home Improvement stores with Ruth! LOL Well ok I would want to see a bit of Japan to!
Ha ha! Yes!
The stores in the American suburbs are a similar image.
Are they more spacious?
If the sales floor is large, it's good to have fun going around.
They are big in America, maybe even bigger than this.
It’s like Lowes or Home Depot!
this is a subject that I am interested in =]
i would spend my time in the tools section...
Yes indeed!
my goodness, I would probably alternate between the plant section, the wood and the snacks!
Which kuroganeya is this? I love it and would like to drive there!
The one in Inagi - it's called DNC Kuroganeya now.
We have a fleet farm but its the same thing and that store is awesome im from wisconsin usa..
I'm from Illinois, and there we had Blain's Farm & Fleet, essentially the same thing as Fleet & Farm I think.
@@LIJ I was born in Illinois lived there still the age of 12 them moved to wisconsin if was from a town called winfield / west chicago area still have family all over illinois
Dude are you from Wisconsin? We have a store called mills fleet farm here.
Just south of there - Illinois - and in Illinois we get the brother's store "Blain's Farm & Fleet"
That's nice about the diapers. I have an old dog, and I just buy his diapers in the baby section of walmart.
Japan is a great place for pet supplies
so if its so humid in japan how do yall battle mold?? especially in bathrooms where the whole room gets wet!!
The battle is real. You have to keep up with cleaning and spraying for mold.

Yes!! Love it!
