I only discovered Huahua this year as he's hardly known in the English speaking UK, but he rapidly became one of my favourite performers, I love his voice and his stage presence. His talent and personality shine through, you will rarely see an artist who loses themselves in the song like Huahua, I can't believe how he holds himself together after he sings some of his sadder songs as he looks utterly destroyed by emotions at times.

In this movie, wukong not only a insuperable hero but also a tragic character who has lost the one he loved, he had to make havoc in Heaven，he finally put down himself and to accompany Tang Seng going to the west for Buddhist scriptures. Hua write this song with a combination of sadness and igniting emotions.
This song is a great introduction to this musical genius. He can do all genres and is a stage monster without even trying hard. Although he's very good at covers like many songs from "the Singer" show, these songs always have copyright issues and being blocked. It's much safer to react to his music from Mars Concert. I would suggest that you try his own music, like 7 personalities, bullfighting, God tree, madhouse, black and white artist, alien....
In 2020, this song was awarded the title The best song of decade. Would you have imagined that the best song of decade in China would sound like that? There are not many songs you can know. He is quite brilliant. This was from Singer 2018 ep 4 (his entry into the competition). I would suggest just following the episodes as there is a bit of a theme and you will be surprised at how different each performance is. He doesn't sing a song he enters fully into it. You will struggle to find anything you may have previously heard except his cover of Creep (Radiohead) but I would leave that for later. Hi Adam, Hua Hua is a songwriter/singer/re-arranger/mentor/actor and can play any instrument. In this championship, artists can only present 2 original compositions. All others must be re-arrangements of famous songs. Hua is an expert at this. Please don't give up on him. The 5th album will be out soon. Just watched this again, Adam, and thought you might appreciate some insight on the origin of this song - it's actually the theme song for the Chinese movie "Wu Kong" (video here: ua-cam.com/video/xjo1FCW9_kM/v-deo.html) about the legendary Monkey King. As part of the plot of the movie, Wu Kong rebels against the gods. If I understand the song correctly, the singing portion is Wu Tong questioning his existence, while the more powerful rap part is his rebellious side coming out.

You got the name Hua Chenyu quite close in pronouncation. :) However, the "yu" is quite off. I believe the "yu" character sounds closer in pronounciation to "irr" - from the english word "irresistible". Else, you have nailed it pretty well:)
Aloha Adam! I am of the opinion that there is no one out there that can do anything near what Dimash can do with his vocals! But then there is another musical genius like Hua Hua that also meshes genres into a song and just makes a masterpiece out of whatever he touches/creates! These two are the most unique artists out there that are on top of their game! Both are so captivating and inspirational! Before these two came along, I never was into opera, heavy metal or rap much! These two made us pleasant to enjoy!
Well maybe because i dont know so much about music, but honestly i did not like it. From my personal opinion it is uncomfortable when you mix classic and rap. Of course he sang well both but if you mix it, for me it is become ordinary maybe because transition not right ? Well i dont know . Also that the end high pitch i think he force it. But i am just ordinary music listener not profesional commentator. I have heard some chinese music like, people like me, ordinary road, people like me, lonely brave etc i like them very much

You found my favorite artist 🥰. He is a composer/singer/rapper... outstanding performer. I love his own compositions the most but he is so good in rearranging songs too. He will surprise you a lot of times. Singer 2018 is a good start to see how versatile he is. Be careful with Singer 2020 because it mostly gets blocked. I am so happy to hear your reaction to Hua Chenyu. You said that you loved metal, then you would love Hua. He is a rocker at heart and he composed his own music. Although he's very good at covers like many songs from "the Singer" show, these songs always have copyright issues and being blocked. It's much safer to react to his music from Mars Concert. I would suggest that you try his own music, like 7 personalities, bullfighting, God tree, madhouse, black and white artist, alien....
In 2020, this song was awarded the title The best song of decade. Would you have imagined that the best song of decade in China would sound like that? There are not many songs you can know. He's sang Creep by Radiohead (2014 in his debut concert) and couple of times Somebody that I used to know by Gotye: ua-cam.com/video/_6ovFVv9Bns/v-deo.html, around 56:40 (fan cam but quite decent quality).
He is quite brilliant. This was from Singer 2018 ep 4 (his entry into the competition). I would suggest just following the episodes as there is a bit of a theme and you will be surprised at how different each performance is. He doesn't sing a song he enters fully into it. You will struggle to find anything you may have previously heard except his cover of Creep (Radiohead) but I would leave that for later. Hi Adam, Hua Hua is a songwriter/singer/re-arranger/mentor/actor and can play any instrument. In this championship, artists can only present 2 original compositions. HuaHua is incredibly talented and versatile. Like the rest of us, I'm sure you will rapidly learn never to assume you know what's coming next in any of his songs. "Nunchucks" would probably be the best next song for you to react to, but there really are no bad songs from him...at least not that I've ever heard/seen.

Just watched this again, Adam, and thought you might appreciate some insight on the origin of this song - it's actually the theme song for the Chinese movie "Wu Kong" (video here: ua-cam.com/video/xjo1FCW9_kM/v-deo.html) about the legendary Monkey King. As part of the plot of the movie, Wu Kong rebels against the gods. If I understand the song correctly, the singing portion is Wu Tong questioning his existence, while the more powerful rap part is his rebellious side coming out.

You got the name Hua Chenyu quite close in pronouncation. :) However, the "yu" is quite off. I believe the "yu" character sounds closer in pronounciation to "irr" - from the english word "irresistible". Else, you have nailed it

Aloha Adam! I am of the opinion that there is no one out there that can do anything near what Dimash can do with his vocals! But then there is another musical genius like Hua Hua that also meshes genres into a song and just makes a masterpiece out of whatever he touches/creates! These two are the most unique artists out there that are on top of their game! Both are so captivating and inspirational! Before these two came along, I never was into opera, heavy metal or rap much! These two made us pleasant to enjoy!

Well maybe because i dont know so much about music, but honestly i did not like it. From my personal opinion it is uncomfortable when you mix classic and rap. Of course he sang well both but if you mix it, for me it is become ordinary maybe because transition not right ? Well i dont know . Also that the end high pitch i think he force it. But i am just ordinary music listener not profesional commentator. I have heard some chinese music like, people like me, ordinary road, people like me, lonely brave etc i like them very much
