1963 Nova Gasser 1007

This 1963 Chevy II Gasser Nova is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. A gasser is a type of hot rod that grew in popularity until the early 70's. They are stripped of any extra weight and jacked up using a beam axle which provides better weight distribution during hard acceleration. With fiberglass body panels and stripped out interiors these cars were designed to go fast in a straight line. The name arose because they competed in a gasoline-fueled drag racing class, rather than one using methanol or nitromethane. This 63 Chevy II is somewhat of a hybrid that embraces certain qualities of the old Gassers. Typically Gassers are a little rough around edges due to the hard lives they live at the track. This car is a fresh build with less than 2000 miles on it since completion. The exterior has been painted in a beautiful Sunset Orange (code 91073256). Tilt the fiberglass front end forward to reveal the heavily modified small block motor. Starting life as the classic 350 4 bolt main, the cubic displacement has been increased to 383 cubic inches! The JE 10.5 to 1 pistons are connected to the 400 crank making this one of the most durable builds. The Lunati cam gives it a nice race car idle and really comes to life in the Higher RPM's. Eagle heads top off this high revving super responsive 383. A quick look in the cabin will reveal an interior much nicer than a normal Gasser would sport. The front buckets and rear seat have been cover in very tasteful tan leather. Carper has also been installed giving this Gasser a much plusher look than normal. For safety, a four point cage has been installed, just in case something crazy happens. After all, it is still a Gasser in every sense of the word, and these cars can become an instantaneous thrill ride at the press of the GO pedal. Staying true with the gasser mentality a Muncie 4 speed is controlled through a Hurst short throw shifter and is one of the tightest closest shift patterns you will shift. If for some reason you were actually to get tired of listening to the glorious sound of the beastly engine, there is a nice AM/FM radio with CD player to listen to your favorite tunes.
