I like these. It's easier to watch these because theyre just like quickened versions of a game that you aren't currently playing a letsplay of so its not too much to devote to at once as a viewer.
Loving the updates in this form, great job. I admit that I think your current playthrough is kind of limping to the finish, so something fresh and quicker like this is great.
Budgetmagyar: NOTHING you do is mundane content. Not only are you unrivalled in this game IMHO, you make it entertaining in a way noone else does. Keep it up
I had a similar luck in my prussia play through as well, the only difference is that I have expanded into Scandinavia and that I have invested heavily into military ideas. At one point in my game (around 1560 as well), my military got so powerful that even without any allies, I was able to 1v the coalition. I was expanding into Germany so fast that the only limitation are either OE or truce timer. I also remember that my nation was in perpetual war at 1560.
In one of my early Brandenburg/Prussia/Germany games, as Prussia I ended up in a coalition war against every country in Europe. Thankfully by that time I had an 80k total army, most of the military ideas, and some decent level forts so it wasn't too bad.
I would have loved to see the battles and how u win the wars. U also have a nice voice, and its funny to see a hungarian guy looking speaking with british accent.
With moving into the Dutch lands, how do you deal with the constant revolts ? I like the shorter content. It can be difficult to find time to watch long series.
the best ways to deal with them as a rule is to either move your capitol into the Dutch or Flemish region. or full blown culture convert to Dutch/Flemish am not willing to do this. alternatively you can culture convert the province. Or have a Dutch/Flemish subject control the region. For me personally i am just going to wait it out. Atm i only own 3 provinces and can deal with the rebels. I personally think the other options are a bit of a shame considering it is all German subculture. after 100 years the turmoil will go away and i will have the cultural union.
Dutch lands are a pain. Either drain diplo points to convert or drain manpower over constant revolts. In my games I culture convert if I can convert the pops before the events fire. Otherwise I just fight the rebels.
I didn't know this was such a problem. I'm in my first game (with DLC, therefore first real game ever) as Saxony. I got a PU over Holland and conquered all the Dutch lands in their name, as well as unifying Germany myself. The Dutch are in the same culture group as Germans so I don't see why this is such a massive problem. Is it because of the high development and the fact that practically each province has its own country?
I got a PU over Russia as Prussia and didnt even know it for like 20 years since there was no event. Then I messed around with the great powers list and saw I was #2 and nearly shit myself when I noticed it as I already had a PU with Bohemia.
Playing tall as Prussia is really fun. I fought the ottomans, with my 84k total troops (im the emperor) against theirs 200k+ troops. I almost lose the war (because Russia has no proper fleet to help me fighting the ottomans in land), i had to lose some battles, yet i won the war!
Are you now/going to become HREmperor? League war on the cards? I did a Bohemia-Prussia run nearly as good as this and foolishly forgot that if you don't start the league war, you can't be a Protestant emperor. When Austria then took my electorate at gave to some two-bit papist backwater like Ravensburg I formed Prussia and took 70% of the HRE's provinces from them at once. No point keeping Bohemia's nice bonus to IA when I can have Prusso-Czech space marines. And having used a cheeky Iceland grab to springboard my colonists early on, along with PU'ing Britain soon after reforming, I had nearly the entirety of the Western Hemisphere a subject of some sorts unless an ally. Kept France-Spain friends for very long too; sometimes making sure you don't take anything they might want seems to keep them reliably sweet till forced to rival you.
i have a question if i formed prussa and have union CB on poland how can i win with boheima and saxony stop me from expanding south the north is occupied by Sweden
if you have a union over Poland and i guess Lithuania as well (assuming that held) you can do whatever you want. You are proto-nazi's you just need to start acting like it. if you dont feel confident in your ability to handle the hre in the manner shown in the video, then go kill sweden. No one cares about them. other countries no one cares about are england and russia.
i loaded up your game and notice the league wars are lined up. There is a tonne of firepower on the protestant side. You mentioned being a bit afraid of austria breaking your alliance.... perhaps joining and starting the league wars would be an idea. France ottomans denmark russia would crush austria. most of the people that you would fear being in a coalition against you would be already involved in that war. only problem is hungary is also part of the catholic side so you'd lose them as allies. you have a -.2 war exhaustion from prussia so you could start the league wars, and sit back behind your forts regaining manpower and waiting for the war to be won by others. in 5-10 years time you can finish it if it isnt already finished, then go ham on whoever you dont have a truce with. but probably only if austria breaks alliance and joins coalition against you along with france. but it looks strong enough to start the truce cycle and no care about allies as much. war dec, white peace (or more) and then they cant join the coalition against you because of truce. in fact i just hit join league and it put Prussia as league leader. any nation that attacks league leader is at war with the entire league. so if i dont start the war, and a coalition starts a war against me.... WHAT HAPPENS????
Let us know when you finish this game, along with a breakdown on how you did it past this, I always am trying to improve my Prussian game, especially with AE being such an issue
Is very hard, in he's last game play they do that, and don¡t become protestan until past the revoke the privilegies, but after that the unrest and the liberity desire go crazy and was near to break up
Dear BudgetMonk and viewers who play EU4, what do you think about switching to Orthodox AFTER forming Prussia? :D -3 unrest, +2 % missionary strenght, +33 % manpower from provinces, icon mechanics, later in the game you can capture the provinces providing some bonuses I believe (Mecca, Rome, Jerusalem, Alexandria ?) One of the icons also grants 5 % more discipline... that religion is simply the best in the game and great for one-faith WC. Should I go for it?
I intend to take some land from Muscovy and send missionary to an orthodox province. The separatist rebels should change to orthodox zealots. I have read that I need to let them siege my provinces and they will convert them to their religion. Once it's over 50 % of my provinces, I can accept their demands and become orthodox.... am I correct? :D That is why I'm asking.
Reverend Green take over some Orthodox provinces and cause a lot of unrest so Orthodox rebels spawn and let the rebels march through your lands. You have to be at war so your country doesn't break after the rebels control more than 50% of your land. Once the rebels convert the majority of your land to Orthodox you accept their demands and the state religion turns Orthodox. You can do this with any religion.
Sometimes it gets boring by time in the long series of Europa Universalis 4, doesn't really matter who posts it, if it's a series of a hundred episodes on one campaign you will tire of it. This is definitely better in that sense. Although I don't think it's good to only do this, or fully replace the old concept, since in that case this *might* start to be lacking. Also, it seems like the cable to your headphones is green.. :P
I am rich it just does not look like it right now. I have been deleting forts. I am trying to maintain many of them because it helps me keep my army tradition up around 100 and i am constantly involved in war.
Thanks for watching fam, continue to give me your feedback. Link in the description to my save file if you guys wish to play from this point yourself.
I would love to see this as a lets play since i plan to do a prussian campaign. I guess i will check out your other bb :D.
Thanks for the upload! Your early games always get off to really interesting and unique starts so I will be playing along!
Budget I love your content, but please don't ever say fam.
you better just keep us updated.... i am very interested
If you can't beat the coalition, eat the coalition
I like these. It's easier to watch these because theyre just like quickened versions of a game that you aren't currently playing a letsplay of so its not too much to devote to at once as a viewer.
Second this, even though im invested in the Hungarian let's play I normally only watch the first and last 5 -10 minutes.
Keep it up
Thanks mate.
In my Muscovy game, Poland stole the Hungary PU from Austria xD
and in my poland game hungary stole maldovia from me ffs lol
Love this small campaign! Keep us updated!
Oh yes budgetmonk please do stream this if you should be able to. Would love to see it going down live. Great vid as always!

I really like u'r game&speech style mate go on guys like videos and support him
Appreciate ya!
Please update the series if you can :P Playing Prussia myself, the god damn coalition is slowing me down, but at least I'm beating them up!
Please, keep us informed about this run. I find it really amazing!
Love these shorter videos and how you leave the save file for us

This style of video is nice
1559 and you own most of Germany, holy shit.

damn shame you didn't do a full series of this
What is your preferred army makeup? In terms of infantry/cavalry/artillery and mercs?
I like these videos
shows +0.20 income, "we're not making much money"
Are you now/going to become HREmperor? League war on the cards? i mean i have a CB to form a union with poland but their strenght is too much and i am short of allies russia refuse to participate in such war
Don't care how bad or good you prussian game is going aslong as you blast prussia glory march from you speakers.
i would love to see this game. Sad stuff

STILL don't know how tf you did this
Hey mate do you think you could let us download the save? I wanna check out what you did because I never do this good as prussia
Link in description.
BudgetMonk 119 thanks :)
Najd is going wild
1559 and you own most of Germany. *Blasts Preußens gloria*
Let us know when you finish this game, along with a breakdown on how you did it past this, I always am trying to improve my Prussian game, especially with AE being such an issue
Very nice! Taking English land was a good plan.
Why not expand into Denmark?
So not bohemia flip cultural saxon?
Are you not gonna vasilize HRE. Then you can feed them and do ur last reform. Its cheaper to expand that way
It's a catholic empire and he's either reformed or protestant
Yeah, to form Prussia you need to be reformed or protestant.
Is very hard, in he's last game play they do that, and don¡t become protestan until past the revoke the privilegies, but after that the unrest and the liberity desire go crazy and was near to break up
I just formed Prussia in 1553! Not in Ironman mode though.
I like this excitement hahahhah
even if the alliance with austria brakes, you can fight the coalition with russia and hungary at this point, hell you might not even need one them.
Like the mini campaign try a few more please
question do you ever do no cb wars?
Yackabee 666 when he played minor ottoman neighbors it was almost meme to just no_cb byzantium
Also, would there be any advantage in moving your main capital to London along with your trade capital?
Are you planning to become emperor and form the HRE?
Dear BudgetMonk and viewers who play EU4, what do you think about switching to Orthodox AFTER forming Prussia? :D -3 unrest, +2 % missionary strenght, +33 % manpower from provinces, icon mechanics, later in the game you can capture the provinces providing some bonuses I believe (Mecca, Rome, Jerusalem, Alexandria ?) 1540 - 4th Great Power, PLC dead, Russia, Bohemia, Austria are allies. Orthodox Prussia is ready to crush the Ottomans :D
One tip, make sure the rebels of the province are ortodox and no separatist, you can screw yourself if you forget that (like I do one time...)
Attrition in Russia. IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Good job monk 3: meanwhile I do the opposite and ravage brandy and TO with my pink brush Polandddd
pro tip as Poland convert to Prussian culture or Pomeranian and form the plc and then prussia
its hard for me to be allways first because different timezones also good game my dude
Good content

What difficulty are you playing on ???
Normal.
BudgetMonk 119 thanks and keep up the good work👍👍
When will you disband the HRE?
Are you planning to form germany?
you always start your videos when you're already super strong. It seems sketchy as best.
you peed bohimia
Lol that's my strategy all the time my current run is Milan I formed Italy and have over 2000 dev by 1600 and I am not even good at the game
please do Georgia
Monk u such a HRE fanboy lol
Why dont u delete some forts ? Saves u quite a bit of money
I am rich it just does not look like it right now. I have been deleting forts. I am trying to maintain many of them because it helps me keep my army tradition up around 100 and i am constantly involved in war.
