I Think Crock is misrepresenting the Oline.
When he talks about KC allowing more pressures and sacks that is true... but that doesn't tell the whole story. They were missing 2 starters and even so allowed a lower pressure rate, on the flip side SF allowed an unblocked rusher on nearly 25 percent of Brock's drop backs.. and this was an issue all year for this team.
No one is saying SF's line needs to be great or even necessarily good, but you cannot be bottom tier in must pass situations and they absolutely are, and that is with possibly the best left tackle in the history of the game.
Similar to the Tractor vs Trailer argument for qb... this Line like a fully loaded trailer.

I will agree with you. This is due to the line being put together for the run game, in prior years. Getting rid of mcglinchy was the first step in getting better. That dude was either getting man handled or flags thrown on him. I am and have been a McKivits fan, I believe he did a great job, all around, in his first starting season. It was a new group, and the right guard was the real problem, no matter who played it. What i seen from Mckivits was discipline in his footwork and handwork. I don’t think he drew one flag all season. When he was getting beat, he kept his composure and left an escape lane for Purdy, which Purdy used more than not. The entire offense was pushed to the extremes in the pass game last season. Especially in the Ravens game. It was the Ravens game that made it clear to me; Kyle wants a pass heavy team, and a run game that acts like the 2 in a one-two combo. It will be hard to game plan for these guys. You can plan for which ever one, then the 49ers switch it up and completely leave the league behind.

Protecting Purdy has to be the number one priority. Now that we have our franchise QB, Kyle has to put more emphasis on pass protection more than run blocking. The OL has been a major part of the Niners losses in the last few playoffs.

@Eric Crocker, the chiefs offensive line is allowed to hold drastically. Go back and look. If the refs called just one of those holding penalties they committed, the chiefs never go to overtime. 49ers o line will be much better this season, year two of the new squad. They pass protected much more last season than any other season prior. I believe 💯 Kyle is building and working that o line when it comes to pass protection… this will be a more passing offense while the run still feels in charge as long as CMC is running the ball. ( he just hit big runs multiple times a game )

Everybody is quick to blame the right tackle. Mike McGlinchy is no longer our RT! Mckivits is NOT Mike! It was the RG position missing cues and assignments, not McKivits! Go back and watch him play, nobody else. He stayed disciplined the entire time, even when he was getting beat. His hands and feet were so disciplined, he wasn’t flagged once, I believe. Left escape lanes that Purdy utilized often. Mckivits went up against the best of the best all year long and played all the through a Super Bowl. All that experience and all those tests in just one starting season. Colton McKivits will be the future at the RT position, mark my words. Puni will be starting at RG and potentially relieving either Tackle if injured. Anyone who blames Mckivits does not understand football, and only watches the ball in games.

Larry liking all the late rouund and undrafted guys EVERY YEAR.. Has nothing to do with him being a former scout and everything to do with him getting credit when they are good and facing no backlash when there not.

I enjoy your show, but the way you both are going out of your way to rip McKivits is disgraceful. Did you guys ever watch him, only McKivits, play from snap to finish? I don’t think, not talking like this, not bringing up crap from years ago. Y’all can do better. ESPECIALLY Crocker, a former player!
