Definitely should be Inoue.
Bud had multiple tune up fights before he fought Spence. Whereas Inoue went straight to the top dog of the division and destroyed him, winning almost every round. If Inoue destroys Tapales he has to be FOTY and #1P4P
@unclevizzy
And Bud was fighting a physically less of Spence after the accident.
Bud was mad at Mike Tyson coz Mike said Inoue is the best fighter in the world 😅
Rightfully so, Inoue is the best fighter on the planet - 2x undisputed in one year. Ran through the top guys of the division doing so .
Haney lost to a blown up featherweight who past his prime. Much heavier bigger longer taller younger fresher yet he still got boxed twice more punches on face and dominanted in championship rounds by a half sized old man
Don’t forget Regis got dropped and lost unknown fighter before the fight
Blk boxers are so into drama and politics just to fight one time a yr compared to inoue way more active collecting 4 belt in one yr now he plan to defend his belt 122 2024 with 3 potential opponents thats a true old school boxing mentality he ain't scared or picky
Lol no way imma let the kpop girl be the fighter of the year. Lol who tf did he fight...... Zzzzzz..... Until he moves up and figgt tc or canelo this lil jackie chan look alike can stay in Korea with his kpop girl group 😂
Inoue should be the fighter of the year if he beats tapales which most likely he will. He destroyed an undefeated unified champion at 122 and would beat another unified champion all in less than a year to become undisputed for the second time. The fastest to do so in the fewest fights and youngest as well.
Nothing but facts , Nobody touching Naoya “ THE MONSTER “ Inoue
Inoue was awarded fighter of the year by ESPN yesterday! 😊
What did Naoya “The Monster” Inouye do this year? He moved up in class and in his first fight literally beat up the best fighter in the division. In his second fight in the division, he knocked out the guy who held the two other belts to become an undisputed, unified champion for the second time in as many years. That, my friend, makes Inouye the Fighter-of-the-Year. Period.
Shalom
Everyone says Haney lost to loma. He even ducked the rematch even tho he still could make weight for shakur.
People don't want to hear it but in the year 2023 Fulton is a better win than Loma or Spence
This is a good argument that will age well
Just give it to Crawford. While the Monster is being humble and destroying his competition without saying much, Crawford crying all over social media about it. Americans will vote Crawford, the world will vote Inoue.
That was actually pretty funny haha
Y'all keep beating riding Haney when he's not even a big attraction
Agree Haney is nothing.
Haney fought bunch of bums and knock out all bums😂 check his resumes out on boxrec, he fought a bunch of nobody
The monster.....
Inoue #1
That's easy inoue, who was more active and undisputed, 💯🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🙉🙈🙊🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haney is nothing and what did Crawford do this year?
Crawford beat an undefeated unified champ and became undisputed in a second weight class. Besides that he did nothing really 🤷🏾♂
Spence was a top 5 p4p fighter, and an undefeated unified champion he very nearly cleaned out the division. Crawford dominated him. Performance of the year. They gave Fury FOTY for beating Wilder and they also gave it to Teo that same year just for beating Loma. So the "he only fought once" holds no weight. The only avenue people have is to denigrate Errol Spence, thus taking some of the sparkle off of Crawford's win. But that's a slippery slope because then we'd have to put that same standard to the others as well and then we can start picking Inoue and Haney's wins apart with a microscope like people are trying to do Crawford
@@boxingpoptalk6179won a fight against an overrated opponent in a weak division.
@@m.danielmills7091P4P is meaningless.
The most intelligent question “ the controversy nature of the Haney fight etc . That a point lost for vote of fighter of the year .
Crawford is the only male boxer to be undisputed in 2 weight classes in the 4 belt era. If Inoue wins he would be the second.
Inoue did it faster so wym
This wasnt a lifetime award, it was for the best fighter of 2023, so compare the one Bud fight against Haney and Inoue's 2023.
@@nehtoo99 Inoue is my pick for fighter of the year, was just adding info since they were talking about Crawford and Inoue being one of the only fighters to be 2 weight class undisputed and wanted to clarify that Crawford is currently the only one, not one of a few.
@@randyjohnson3973 Not disagreeing with Inoue being fighter of the year, just adding info
But inoue doing it one year is way far more impressive
Great video! Keep up the great work!😊
Not in a calendar year, but truly 2 Undisputed divisions in a years time. Naoya Inoue.
David Benavidez had 2 good wins over Plant and Andrade so he's a candidate.
Is he black?
@@Soul-Taker Does Benavidez sound black?
Isn't it crazy if somehow Tapales wins.
To order to win, he needs to knock Inoue out. and if he does, he wins two unified champion and become undisputed.
Then he will recive upset of the year and knock out of year award. Therefore he will be fighter of the year.
I got Bud. He had the highest level of competition for his fight, made history and dominated. Not sure why it’s even a discussion.
Nonsense
Mr. Steroid is not available.
Inactivity
Highest level if the Spence fight was 5-6 years ago. Dude came off 2 car accidents with a detached retina and 3 years of inactivity. People in love with what Spence was not what he is now.
Good
Crawford had the performance of the year. Really a performance for the ages. And that's why he's fighter of the year. Best performance in the fight that had the biggest stakes.
Other people have been fighter of the year with one fight. Tyson Fury and Teo. I think we're all guilty of over thinking it. I had Devin Haney as my FOTY until i thought about it. I said dang they gave it to Tyson Fury for beating Wilder. They gave it to Teo for beating Loma. But suddenly with Crawford, I'm like nah how only fought once. But what a performance it was. I had to check myself. He beat a top 5 p4p guy. It's easy.
As far as Inoue, the fact that we all know he's going to walk thru Tapoles is why I i ain't giving it to him. Basically y'all are giving at to him and he hasn't even FOUGHT the guy yet😂
Inoue destroyed an undefeated unified champion in Fulton though. Fulton had previously beat over 9 “undefeated” fighters. Spence > Fulton but if Inoue beats Tapales then there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be FOTY. I have Crawford as FOTY right now but Inoue takes it if he beats Tapales.
@@ozborn6381 Fulton wasn't on anyone's p4p list and that fight had nowhere near the stakes nor the intrigue of Crawford/Spence. The Ring belt was on the line in the welterweight division for the first time in over a decade. A true 1 vs 2 match up. And Crawford just soared. He literally had grown men like Luke Thomas shedding tears because he had never witnessed a performance that spectacular. IMO it's Crawford hands down. And this is coming from someone that initially had Haney as FOTY. But I had to be honest in the fact that my sole reasoning was because he had only fought once in the Year. But once I remembered so did Tyson Fury and Teo, that logic had to go out the window.
Tapales is already being written off. That tells me everything I need to know.
In the year 2023 Fulton > Spence
Fulton is so much more skilled than Spence. Spence is just a move forward power puncher with barely any speed and head movement. Only thing Spence has over Fulton is power. Fulton is better at everything else. Fulton against Spence would be like putting Floyd against any power puncher with little boxing skill.
@@timediverx No one believes that.
Devin Haney should be fighter of the year but all guys are deserving
Why? He didn't look good vs Loma and most people think he lost. Inoue knocked out an undefeated champion at a higher weight and if he wins Tuesday that's Undisputed in his second weight class. That's a shoe in for fighter of the year. Tank knocked out 2 undefeated fighters and did 1.3 million ppv buys. David Benavidez dominated Plant and knocked out Andrade. Bud had the biggest win of all over Spence. Why do you say Haney for a gift win vs Loma. He won a title over Regis but Regis looked terrible his last fight.
@roccomcbride752 well a clearly weight drained Haney won by unanimous decision on all 3 judges score cards against the only guy who had been former number 1 on the pound for pound list. Loma was a guy the media and fans had been praising for years as the matrix with even Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum saying he was better than Ali. After this he goes up immediately to 140 and fights Regis who was considered by most the bogeyman of the division and WBC champ. He sweep him, beating him down from round 1 to 12. Mine you this is with no tune ups and most fans and Fighters doubting him in every fight calling him pillow fist and a runner. Yet he still proved them all wrong. That's why he is my fighter of the year
@@voiceoftheancestorschase6876 You mean the Loma that had lost to Teofimo and a lot of people thought lost to Jamaine Ortiz.? The Loma that most beat thought actually beat Haney. 3 American judges gave Devin a gift. He should be thankful because Loma beat him up.
@roccomcbride752 oh so now your trying to say loma is washed ? This is a man who according to boxing experts and other fighters was great. Secondly you keep saying gifted. How many professional fights have you ever judged ?
@@voiceoftheancestorschase6876 I'm saying how Loma looked leading up to the Haney fight. People were saying Loma lost a step 2 years earlier when Teofimo beat him. Remember Devin said he was too old and too small back then.
I don't like this analysis.
What's so shocking... Look at what inuoe is doing is unheard of.. Going thru A level fighters like peanuts! He's about to be undisputed again!!! Inuoe is fighter of the yr and pound for pound king, followed by crawford. Yall need to keep haneys name out ya mouth, seriously.. The fake it till u make bum...
