We often use videos like this without taking the time to thank the creator. Here is me saying big thanks for your thoughtful and easy to follow directions. I did the same on my 2016 f30 and it worked just like you modeled. Thanks again.
So, for anyone watching this video, it's indeed very helpful and it's step by step, i was very skeptical didn't wanted to do it at home but i seen this video and i said why not, let's try, well, indeed, i break 2 pins /clips whatever they are called but nothing too serious everything is still in place, i guess it happens, from my experience it was pretty easy, however, you need to have a bit of patience, but it's definetely an amazing tutorial, thanks!
i did this on the drivers side. it is very doable for the mechanically minded, it is just a tight space to work in, especially for the interior door actuator. Great video, as usual.
Thank you for sharing this video. Very helpful. I have a question about the BMW E90 door lock actuator. I have assembled my actuator with new a cog, as the other had the teeth broken off in two places. I am sure it is assembled correctly, but the long door lock rod will not move up and down when opening or closing. It makes the noise etc, but just won't move up. I did notice when testing the actuator that a small amount of light smoke came from the motor side. If the motor is on it's way out, could this be the cause of the rod not moving up and down? Any advice is very much appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks for the detailed walkthrough! Would this still be the definite issue if the door lock can still be manually engaged, and latch can still open & unlock; the lock is just not responding to electric commands from neither keyfob nor interior lock button. Only passenger side door lock does this, all others work fine.
Great Video, i was wondering if i should DIY or send the car to BMW as i seen another video where they remove the window harness and thought it may be out of my depth, after watching this one i realized it isn't necessary, gave it a bash and happy to report it was easier than expected
hey whenever i lock my car my rear right passenger doesn’t lock and i will open it and it starts beeping, could it be a blown fuse or a actuator problem??
Just had a similar problem on my 2013 f30. Only mine doesnt lock, i need to unlock it from the inside by pushing down on the lock itself. If it's open I can open in from the outside aswell no problem. Is this also a problem from the actuator or is it something else?

I watched a bunch of videos on how to do this replacement, and this one was the best. Now my door works again!

AT 7:52, there is a definitely a guy that looks like krabman next to a workout machine.
holy smokes - how did that happen. What a good eye!
Just got a 2011 335i and both passenger doors won’t lock w the key but the driver sides door do lock and unlock what is it !!
it might be a blown fuse. can you still lock it manually?
@@keenanfranciscoI could lock it by hand 😆 but the remote won’t lock or unlock both left side doors nor will the button in the center console
@@g35tho11 then it’s very likely that it’s the fuse. i’m not sure where the box is but the forums are usually a good place to start.
Bro how can i replace it if the door is locked and stuck on lock
Go in the car from the driver’s side and manually open the passenger door handle. It should release the lock.
Is this the same for a 2 series? Are these parts shared with other series?
The same general idea!
How do I do the driver side is it the same ? Because the driver side has manual unlock key hole
Same process!
@fcpeuro done it mate thanks but I didn't take of most of the things.
Take the key part out on the outside of the door before you remove the actuator or else the key pin will break. Don't ask me how I know... :(

Hi, did you manage to fix it? Having the same issue for front passenger doors. Doesnt lock with key
@@XtreamSProhaven’t fixed it yet but it should be a broken actuator
