Cutting a Pakistani qameez (also known as kameez) involves several steps to ensure that the garment fits well and maintains the traditional style.
Materials Needed:
Fabric
Measuring tape
Scissors
Chalk or fabric marker
Pattern paper (optional)

Steps:
1. Measurements:
Chest: Measure around the fullest part of the chest.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of the waist.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of the hips.
Shoulder Width: Measure from one shoulder tip to the other.
Armhole: Measure around the arm where the sleeve will sit.
Sleeve Length: Measure from the shoulder tip to the desired sleeve length.
Length of Kameez: Measure from the shoulder to the desired length of the kameez.
Neck Circumference: Measure around the base of the neck.
2. Creating the Pattern:
If using pattern paper, draw the following sections based on your measurements:
Front and Back Bodice: Use the chest, waist, and hip measurements to draft the front and back bodice patterns.
Sleeves: Use the armhole and sleeve length measurements to draft the sleeve pattern.
Neckline: Draw the neckline shape based on your preference (round, V-shaped, etc.).
3. Cutting the Fabric:
Front Piece:
Fold the fabric in half lengthwise.
Place the front bodice pattern on the folded fabric.
Mark the pattern with chalk, adding seam allowances (usually 0.5 to 1 inch) around the edges.
Cut along the chalk lines.
Back Piece:
Repeat the process for the back bodice pattern.
If the back has a zipper or buttons, add extra fabric allowance at the center back for the opening.
Sleeves:
Fold the fabric and place the sleeve pattern on the folded edge.
Mark and cut the fabric, ensuring you add seam allowances.
Neckline:
Cut the neckline shape on both the front and back pieces as per your design.
4. Marking and Cutting Darts (if needed):
Bust Darts: Mark the dart points from the bust apex to the side seam on the front piece.
Waist Darts: Mark the waist dart points from the waistline to the hip on both the front and back pieces.
Cut the dart lines slightly to make stitching easier.
5. Seam Allowances and Hems:
Add seam allowances (usually 0.5 to 1 inch) around all edges where the fabric will be stitched.
Add extra fabric for hems at the bottom of the kameez and sleeve ends (usually 1 to 2 inches).
6. Final Adjustments:
Check all pieces against your measurements to ensure accuracy.
Make any necessary adjustments before starting to sew.

1. ناپ:
چھاتی: چھاتی کے سب سے بھرے ہوئے حصے کے ارد گرد ناپ لیں۔
کمر: کمر کے سب سے پتلے حصے کے ارد گرد ناپ لیں۔
کولہے: کولہوں کے سب سے بھرے ہوئے حصے کے ارد گرد ناپ لیں۔
کندھے کی چوڑائی: ایک کندھے کے سرے سے دوسرے کندھے کے سرے تک ناپ لیں۔
بازو کا سوراخ: بازو کے گرد ناپ لیں جہاں آستین بیٹھے گی۔
آستین کی لمبائی: کندھے کے سرے سے مطلوبہ آستین کی لمبائی تک ناپ لیں۔
قمیض کی لمبائی: کندھے سے مطلوبہ قمیض کی لمبائی تک ناپ لیں۔
گردن کا محیط: گردن کے نچلے حصے کے ارد گرد ناپ لیں۔
2. پیٹرن بنانا:
اگر پیٹرن پیپر استعمال کر رہے ہیں تو ناپ کے مطابق درج ذیل حصے بنائیں:
سامنے اور پیچھے کا جسم: چھاتی، کمر، اور کولہوں کے ناپ کے مطابق سامنے اور پیچھے کے جسم کے پیٹرن بنائیں۔
آستین: بازو کے سوراخ اور آستین کی لمبائی کے مطابق آستین کا پیٹرن بنائیں۔
گردن: اپنی پسند کے مطابق گردن کی شکل بنائیں (گول، V شکل وغیرہ)۔
3. کپڑا کاٹنا:
سامنے کا حصہ:
کپڑے کو لمبائی میں آدھا فولڈ کریں۔
سامنے کے جسم کا پیٹرن فولڈ کیے ہوئے کپڑے پر رکھیں۔
پیٹرن کو چاک سے نشان لگائیں، کناروں کے ارد گرد سیون الاؤنس (عموماً 0.5 سے 1 انچ) شامل کریں۔
چاک کی لائنوں کے ساتھ کاٹیں۔
پیچھے کا حصہ:
پیچھے کے جسم کے پیٹرن کے لئے یہی عمل دہرائیں۔
اگر پیچھے زپ یا بٹن ہوں تو پیچھے کے مرکز میں کھولنے کے لئے اضافی کپڑا شامل کریں۔
آستین:
کپڑے کو فولڈ کریں اور آستین کے پیٹرن کو فولڈ کیے ہوئے کنارے پر رکھیں۔
کپڑے کو نشان لگا کر کاٹیں، یقینی بنائیں کہ سیون الاؤنس شامل ہو۔
گردن:
گردن کی شکل دونوں سامنے اور پیچھے کے حصوں پر کاٹیں۔
4. ڈارٹس مارک کرنا اور کاٹنا (اگر ضرورت ہو):
چھاتی کے ڈارٹس: سامنے کے حصے پر چھاتی کے ابھار سے سائیڈ سیون تک ڈارٹس کے پوائنٹس نشان لگا دیں۔
کمر کے ڈارٹس: سامنے اور پیچھے دونوں حصوں پر کمر کے نچلے حصے سے کولہوں تک ڈارٹس کے پوائنٹس نشان لگا دیں۔
سلائی کو آسان بنانے کے لئے ڈارٹ لائنوں کو تھوڑا سا کاٹ دیں۔
5. سیون الاؤنس اور ہیمز:
تمام کناروں پر جہاں کپڑا سلائی کیا جائے گا سیون الاؤنس (عموماً 0.5 سے 1 انچ) شامل کریں۔
قمیض کے نچلے حصے اور آستین کے سروں پر ہیمز کے لئے اضافی کپڑا شامل کریں (عموماً 1 سے 2 انچ)۔
6. حتمی ایڈجسٹمنٹ:
تمام حصے اپنے ناپ کے مطابق چیک کریں۔
