Very nice lesson. I was in my twenties in the 1970s. While hip-hop was not my favorite music I always liked those grooves. Had no idea they were/are in sextuplets. Great lesson.
Awesome! Right the grooves are just fantastic!!! I didn't really want to present it as sextuplets, but another way to think of them are swung sixteenths, but I didn't want to go that route with the "purists," so I avoided it. Either way glad you liked the lesson and thanks for checking it out!

Not yet, but maybe I should I guess! Cymbals are (2x) 18" Jazz Thin Crashes, 22" Meinl Foundry Reserve Ride and 14" Vintage Pure hi hats. All cymbals are Meinl. Hope that helps!

There is a mistake in notation of last example. The last paradidle should go like rrlr and then rlrr. Juan actually dont play rrr as I can see. Great lesson

Well I guess am lucky cz I do play the drums on beat without any problem but I ain't no pro but it's all about feeling the timing I think anyone can do it for starters best to start with the kick of the bass drum cz that's what determines the timing of the beat..
