ill give an explanation for entropy problem without formulae
air compressed at constant pressure and volume is halved then what is the entropy change?
first whats entropy --) randomness of gas
Now lets consider a piston cylinder which is filled with gas or air and has volume v1, now piston applied forced on the air by decreasing volume v to v/2 which will increase the pressure in real scenario but question clearly said p=const, now what happens to the air inside, it will be compressed which means you are reducing the randomness aka entropy as you halved the volume at constant pressure air has no where to go but come closer in cylinder reducing the gap between particles!!!
with this approach you can answer in 2secs entropy reduces to this specific scenario it may alter if its const volume and pressure changes
