    This is a really difficult song to sing and he could easily opt for easier ones in his back catalogue. While it's true that he's not hitting every note here, he's getting most of them. To go out there at nearly 80 and do nearly 3 hours is nothing short of astonishing

      Perhaps a giant hook could be used like on the Gong Show to get the poor bastard off the stage. Apparently he doesn't have anyone around him who cares about his fake legacy. But for the record, this is embarrassing

      Realmente é muito difícil , até Paul McCartney com a idade que se encontra hoje... Sofre dificuldades principalmente em notas vocais mais altas.

    I really appreciate how Paul absolutely refuses to tune his songs down when it’s a routine practice for singers 30 years younger than him. He’s obviously much more limited that he was 10-15 years ago, but he’s still invested in playing the songs exactly the way he wrote them.

      Yes it was.
      He paces himself well. He splits his set up so that he isn't on his feet for too long before he sits down at the piano. The break before the encore felt like it was around 5 minutes, which would make it 2:35 of Paul at age 79, so, yeah, amazing.

      At this point it not a good idea for surgery given his age. Maybe 10-15 years ago, but he was still sounding good. Alas, age creeps up on us all and there's not much you can do about it. I love Paul just the way he is.

    • @whatspadethinks
      @whatspadethinks Рік тому

      The two year break over the pandemic went a long way in helping his voice. I saw him with the wife twice in 2019 and it was of course tremendous being the huge fans we are but I certainly noticed his vocals at times. More like in care, like worrying for the guy. I mean this song is in Bb and ⅔ of the audience wouldn't notice if he took it down just a semitone to A. But he's always played them in the original keys. He is amazing and an inspiration as I get older as a GenX 2nd generation Beales fan. I mean I saw him the first time in 1993 and vocally yeah he was decades younger than now but he still has that same energy and stamina to play 3 hours plus soundcheck for 45 min. Anyone who ever gigged live will tell you if they're honest that the reason sets have to at least be 45 min on & 15 min off is performing live kicks your ass, in shape or not.

      At this point, everyone who loves him knows his voice is past singing Maybe I’m Amazed to the standard of even 20 years ago…but I still want to hear him sing it at 80 because he wrote it and it’s his own personal favourite song of his own.
      He knows he can’t do it justice, we know, but I love listening out for the moments of brilliance he STILL brings in his 9th decade.
      I’d rather he sang the songs he loved with all his effort than ones he didn’t but can hit all the notes easily.

      How many times do we have to hear this? Unless one is Harry Houdini, someone at 79 (5 weeks away from turning 80) will not and cannot have the voice he/she had at 35!! 60 years plus of singing in many different ranges has taken its toll for sure. I'm going to see him next week in L.A. I've seen him in his "heyday", yes. I am fully aware of his vocal capabilities, yet, I still want to see him perform live. He is giving everything he's got and that is fine with me. Yes, he's raspy and rough in spots. On some songs that have lower registers, he's actually quite pleasing. After the second show in Oakland, he won't be performing until Friday the 13th giving himself 4 days to recoup. He has spaced out the dates to be more forgiving to his voice. Yes, his vocals are not the same. But everyone has the choice of either going to a show or not going. I choose to go. I almost didn't go 3 years ago to Dodger Stadium because of the "voice issues." But I'm so glad I did! Not only did he surprise me (he sounded great), but I got a chance to see Ringo and Joe Walsh for the finale.

    • @TheBlueSkateboard
      @TheBlueSkateboard 2 роки тому +22

      I don't think he's trying to hide the fact his voice has deteriorated... That's not the point. The point is that it's 2022 and you're still able to go see Paul McCartney live. He's killing it considering he's almost 8 decades old. He obviously isn't going to be the same as he was. The show is much more than the voice and the voice is unique and still very clearly Paul's. No one on the planet can perform the songs like Paul can, even at 80 years old.
