Greg was an excellent stand up and he was by far the best roaster(despite Jeff Ross anointing himself the roastmaster). I would genuinely be curious to see him cut these talentless hacks down the way he did to Leary back in the day
to be fair, a cabin (specifically a log cabin) would be constructed with spikes (big nails are called spikes) so there could indeed be a "spike person" at the cabin.
Harland did finally bring actual comedy to the Rogan podcast and Joe didn’t recognise it and kept trying to bring it all back to serious topics cause of his ‘comedy brain’ we ‘civilians’ could never comprehend.
It’s nice to see these roasters get a taste of their own medicine from a real comic. I also enjoyed it when Bill Burr stood up for an amateur comic against Tony, and panel.

The only thing worse than Joe Rogans comedy brats are kill Tony’s comedy pratts. They crack up at Casey Rocket and that William guy, but I’ve never even cracked a smile
@@Caleb_741 Its Sam Kinison screaming without a bit... but truthfully I think Will Farrell is likely one of his biggest influences. if you think of Will farrells SNL characters and movie characters, a large part of his shtick was obnoxiously screaming out funny and random phrases... William almost certianly was that kid that ran around blurting out Will Farrell and John C Reilly movie quotes all day long. William has undeniably demonstrated the ability to write jokes and do some clever abstract humor bits over the years... sometimes far and few between. I dont think theres ever been a regular ive gone more back and fourth on then William. Out of all the regulars to have done KT over the years, William does seems to free ball the most sets like it always seems like hes winging it or wrote the jokes just 5 mins prior to being on stage the majority of the time... which if thats what hes been doing this entire time as a regular, then I get it and understand him not wanting to waste his actual set material on KT mini sets... but if what he does on KT is the best he has to offer then its obvious why he remains the longest standing KT regualr... so with all that said, part of me is genuiely curious what an extended set of his would actually be like at a regular comedy show setting... like does he actually have 20-30mins of well crafted legitimate comedy bits or does he just scream one liners that hes reading off of a disposible plate? William seems like he could be a decent comedic actor if he put the effort into auditions and learning to read for roles, but im not sure thats a goal of his or not. It will be interesting if the day ever comes when William branches out on his own from the Kill Tony show... but It wouldnt surprise me if he simply becomes a Kill Tony lifer, essentially the shows mascot.

Whoever you are, please please live your best life because you are a gift to the world. I wholeheartedly love your channel and hope you have a new video coming soon. Big ups sir. Much respect 🫡
I think the problem with killtony is that it gives guys who are new/promising a bigger audience than they are ready for yet. Usually a comic would have many more years of bombing in front of much smaller crowds to help them get things figured out. I feel like there are a couple of killtony favorites that could be really funny if they had a few more years of practice but instead wind up drowning when Tony throws them in the deep end too early.
its not just that but its also the fact that they become part of the Kill Tony brand and friends of Tony and it helps the show to boost them and put them over on the audience. To say David Lucas is decent but not great then diminishes the clout of the show. These guys are funny but nowhere near the greatness level that the show promotes them as.
the formula used to make sense when they had a small to medium sized audience but in this new kill tony era, your "throwing them in the deep end" analogy is perfect

he carries a ladder to your home and makes you laugh if you're a friend. He roasts and retires people who 'think' they are his friends. Like you and Lucas ❤
Ironically, David Lucas telling Harland he roasts like him is the hardest roast he's ever done.

Harland Williams was in the ICP movie: Big Money Hustlas. If you watch the movie, Harland basically looked at the script and said: "Nah, I'm not saying that, I'm doing whatever I please"...and he CARRIED the movie by himself.
Harland is an improv god, you don't go up against someone who's mind is ALWAYS on, and David's sets haven't been the same since, so this clearly rocked him.
The fact that Rogan just didn't even have a concept for how to take the preposterous things that Harland was suggesting as jokes is the most telling part about the whole bit
David Lucas uses black stereotypes to get a laugh and it’s cringeworthy watching it as a black person.
