Sanborn compressor with Century motor 35 years old. Used almost every day painting cars, wood working etc. Use SAE 30W non detergent oil changed every 6-12 months. Oil comes out looking the same as when put in. Of course U.S.A. made back then.
"Save the neck for me Clark" bahahaha. Now I feel confident that I can change the oil in mine, even if it rains! And a great idea for catching the oil. Thanks
I have a single stage Craftsman compressor. Advertised as maintenance free. I've had it for 23 years. I'd gladly trade it though for something quiet or less noisy that needs a periodic oil change. I do need to change oil in my generators and vacuum pump though.
You used the wrong oil you need ISO 100 not ISO 46 oil or you damage the compressor , check your manual and if i´m right do another video to change the oil the right way :D

I like the tip about just putting a valve on it.
Barry, I did an extension on the drain with a ball valve. Open the valve and the oil drains in the catch pan. C-ya monday nite, Terry.
Great idea. Thanks for making the video. I feel confident in changing mine out now.

Cool hat
Note to self just use a cheap transfer pump!
Wish I would have saw this before I drained mine and made a mess. Put a 3 inch long 1/4 npt nipple and a cap on it so next time will be a breeze.
