This song was a fun stoner anthem that peaked at #1 in Europe and the UK just before 9/11. Then the whole world got really serious fast and because I got high dropped off the charts. It’s the last really popular song pre 9/11 so it kinda takes ya back to a better place post Y2K but before the war times.
Because like most reaction channels this isn’t their first time hearing a lot of these songs. They are the same age as me and I’m from a small town in Kansas and knew every word of this song in 6th grade (wasn’t a stoner) and so did almost every other kid in my school. Hello from New England...Omg I haven't heard this song since waaay back in the day...This song was everywhere on the radio...Thx for the blast from the past..Peace..
I remember that morning very well, in fact. I got stoned before I left for work that morning, and I listened to this song on the way in. Little did I know (like many) that the world would change forever only 3 short hours later.
There was a long list of songs that the PMRC released after 9/11 that they wanted to ban. Even if the song had absolutely nothing to do with what happened that day. The PMRC and Clear Channel pulled music form the air because they wanted to decide what we listened to.
The song, which was written in only a few minutes, rose from obscurity to popularity after it was circulated around the Internet and was featured on The Howard Stern Show. Number 1 here in the UK in 2001 & Number 13 in America :) Never heard this version on the radio though lol
I have been a rock fan all my life, and still think this is a gem, proving that good music is good music, no matter the genre. You guy's brighten my days, as you have two of the loveliest smile on the internet. Skinheads, = Nazi racists. Funny :-)
Wow, what a blast from the past!! This song was everywhere during my clubbing days. Its funny but I like that it tells you what can go wrong in your life if you get high. Very funny with a good message. Hi from the UK
You need to see the new Afroman song. It’s all about how the cops raided his place and he used his own security in the footage. Look up “Lemon Pound Cake”
Big hit during the '00s lol. I'm pretty sure this isn't the radio, MTV version that I recall. A little more nastier. He's a alos a good bass guitar player, plays in his songs. He had some other good songs during the '00s like "Crazy Rap", check that one out, too. More of a comedian rapper like Will Smith (DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince) and Biz Markie were during the late '80s, early '90s.
This song goes from innocent to life ruining real quick lol. From missing class to sleeping on the sidewalk after losing your wife and kids. But hey, it's a legendary song that I blasted back in the day while I was also high.
This song is hilarious, but bittersweet to me, because it indirectly signifies the end of the good times. It was a hit late in the summer of 2001, peaking at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 on September 8, 2001. We all know what happened the following week. Suddenly, the laughter was gone, and the party was over.
Crazy thing is Tim Ramenofsky produced this album in Hattiesburg, MS. Tim graduated a year after I did, Davidson High School, Mobile,Al. Tim's High School Band mate, Greg Slay played drums for Remy Zero who played the theme songs for Smallvile and Nip & Tuck. RIP Greg

My favorite thing about this song is that everyone I've ever met that smokes a LOT of weed loves this song and thinks it's their anthem, apparently completely oblivious that all of the lyrics are about the ways drugs can fuck up your life.

The best part was I was going to pay my child support but then I got high and the background vocals say no you wasn't
There was so much truth in that song and it made it funnier.
idk.. the last part was fire. "A E I O U and sometimes W" lol
