If fiction became reality... we would be royally fked. And not because the world would come to an end overnight, but because often, the only reason that heroes win in 95% of fiction, is because of plot armor. If it became a reality, the likelihood of demons, grand nemeses, villains, and everything in between waiting for the conditions that are given in plot progression would be practically zero. Even if it were the case, every OTHER villain would be killing off other fictional heroes because they got in the way of them trying to dominate the heroes of their stories. In the end, the only thing left would be heroes and villains trying to kill each other off because their counterparts ended their opposition and that led to a downward spiral of revenge. Common folk would just cease to exist, then who would be left to run the mundane bits of society? Are the npc's and side characters of these stories created from existing people? or are they also materialized? There are demon worshipers that seem to just randomly appear after the towers are made real, what about everyone else?
More like his power is making his stories a reality, the towers and heroes being large aspects of those stories. Connecting to his heroes and using their powers is another aspect of his power, but it costs him mana. More mana = less negative side effects. That’s what I’ve understood so far, a little more than an hour in.
