A very neat (slightly over-engineered) job! Exactly what I'd do. I'm in the process of building something similar and ensuring I have it all insulated and well sealed as well.

Great build, I really like the double wall channel idea. Hiding the wires is definitely something I'm going to look to do when I start mine. Thanks for taking the time to show yours off for us.

Great job, thanks for taking the extra time and effort to film and give idea.

Great Video! You should take it to the next level of extreme and add a Bottoms Up Dispenser to it!

Love the idea of the channel on top. I was pondering that same thought for when I build mine. Thanks for the video!

Would you consider posting all of the parts you used (hose types, manifold product numbers, etc.)? This is truly a masterpiece of a keezer!

Sweet, Another nice touch would be (one carpenter to another) is add a red oak edge and top to cover the top of it, one it would give it more weight to seal better and chest deep freezers tend to cave in some in the middle on the big ones and that would avoid it, but mainly it would be cool...
    again, sweet work...

Being newly involved, what is the temperature in the freezer that keeps the beer the best and how long will a keg last regarding quality..Great video and clean work

freezers are set to keep things frozen. temp controller prevents the freezer from getting that cold by staying at a chosen temperature and not freezing your beer.

    Ok, got it.
Is it pretty straight forward to wire that thing into the freezer? I'd love to hear a little about how you figured out how to bypass the existing temp control circuitry.

Beautiful work. Can I ask why you need an external temp controller? I thought that a freezer would already have something like that built-in???

What are the dimensions of the wood you used? I am not very good with wood working, and I have the same freezer as you, but its the 14.8 cu ft model. When you flipped the collar over and showed the lip that lays in the freezer lip, I was wondering how you did that. Did you have to cut the outer piece of wood length wise to match the height so when you flipped it over it would be flush? I really want to mimic your beautiful work. Please help!

Nice!! I'm starting a build on one with a coffin top when I get back from my deployment. How does it hold up in the heat and humidity in FL? I'd like to put mine outside like your original one.

Do you have to have the lid hinges? Can it just be a lay on lid for easy complete removal and recovering?

  • @howibrew

Nope. The temperature controller keeps the freezer at 35 degrees so it just stays really cold.
