Heard the album version and forgot all about it as soon as it ended. This version might be my favorite Michael song of all time.

@@isabelle9914 The problem isn't that they made it modern, the problem is that they removed the personality from the songs and made them soulless and generic.
For example, with Xscape they took out the prison-like elements (undermining the meaning of the song by doing so) and turned it into a generic party mix that doesn't match the serious vibe given off by the lyrics at all.
This version is so much better. Why did they mess with it?
Honestly I think Xscape is pretty good with its renewed versions of Mikes tracks but tbh...this version is 1000 times better than the new version. I love the intro and darker production, the kid verse, the extra length, just everything.

I believe the album cover in this video, was supposed to be the official album cover, but Sony didn't like that, and screwed that on up too. Same for how it wasn't supposed to be white either. Michael wanted it to be gold, explaining why he got mad at Sony for editing it the way they did. Michael's face was painted gold (I think)

Why, just why did they release the butchered/ lame remixes over these original versions?! This song is sick and sounds like a MJ song. The 2014 sound like Timbaland songs or just any other generic 2010 pop song. This song is pretty much 100% finished. That whole 2014 album is a spit in the face of MJ and would never have approved it. Also if you look at the making off of the 2014 remixes, you can just how much disrespect they had for MJ and these original songs. Saying these original version where bad and not ''listenable''.

Why don't we have any demos from the main songs that made it on Invincible? Are those locked down tightly?
I very badly want to learn about them. I see these demos and I'm fascinated about the process of the album- but I can't find the demos of the main songs anywhere.
These are technically only demos because they're unreleased songs that never made it to the album and were reworked and rereleased later on. If they were never reworked they'd just be unreleased songs.

@@ethanashford1 Yeah, I would imagine they were either not saved in their unfinished forms or they just never had a fully "unfinished form" to begin with. A lot of Michael's demos are songs that he sets out to finish from the start, but ends up shelving for rework later on, like Earth Song, Ghosts, Another Part of Me, etc.
Earth Song and Ghosts went surprisingly unchanged, save for some vocal sections, but outside of that they both take from the "demos" pretty heavily. The Invincible album demos probably don't exist because they were recorded _for_ the album and made it _to_ the album with minimal time from "demo" to final. Earth Song was meant for Dangerous, Ghosts for MJ's Addams Family Values thing, and Another Part of Me for Captain EO, all being shelved long enough to be considered demos rather than just unfinished (or unreleased in APOM's case.)

@@ethanashford1Most of the main invincible songs don’t have a demo with MJ’s voice because all the songs except for two were given to him. The only demos you’d get from them would be writer demos. I guess the Darkchild songs have earlier instrumentals but that’s all.

Invincible album was a combination of terrible song choices and terrible final mixing of those songs. I mean, Threatened and 2000 Watts could have sounded amazing but the final mixing was so weak. A lot of Invincible songs had great melodies, but again final mixing was baaaad. Such a potential wasted.
Sony tampered with it a lot. Plus I don't think the final track selection was what Mike wanted. It's been said he wanted a lot more songs on there too.
The Invincible album was such an disappointment. I was even disappointed when his first video and song was You Rock my World. It lacked the usual MJ excitement, tempo and funkieness. And the other songs on Invincible, specially the first 3 songs, it doesn't sound much like MJ due to the heavy mixing on purpose l.

It's 2020, and I still see what an amazing music video could have accompanied this. Michael as a free-thinking rebel on the run from faceless, mindless guards (intentionally harkening back to the masked troopers from "Moonwalker") through a shifting, industrial-esque prison using stealth and a bit of that trademark MJ magic to overcome its automated defenses, culminating in a mass break out/dance number with liberated prisoners that literally shakes the foundation and brings the outer walls crashing down. Well we all can dream can't we? ^ _ ^

No encuentro razón alguna por la cual Michael dejo afuera esta canción del álbum Invincible, en mi opinión es mucho mejor que temas como Privacy, 2000 Watts o hasta el mismo título del álbum.
Problamente pensó que no estaba lista, Michael era un perfeccionista por ejemplo Earth song es de dangerous era pero la realizó en history porque era muy perfeccionista y mira la obra maestra en que se convirtió, está versión de xscape es la mejor la póstuma es un desastre.
La canción fue filtrada en 2002 sin permiso (a saber como) en Internet y rápidamente fue descargada por muchos usuarios, quizas por eso no lo pusieron en el álbum
En el caso de Xscape fue porque la filtraron a Internet antes de la salida del album. Pero para las demas rolas fue por desicion de sony. Recordemos que Sony boicoteo este album al full para poder joder a mike. Por eso miles de proyectos que se tenian jamas salieron a la luz. Simplemente el mismo mike lo dijo, se grabaron casi 50 rolas en las sesiones de invincible. Tambien todos los videos que jamas vieron la luz por puro pretexto de sony como Unbreakable, Invincible, Break Of Dawn, Creo que Butterflies e incluso el mismo album se iba a llamar Unbreakable, no Invincible. Asi que todo esto es mas que nada obra de sony.
PD: Invincible es muy buena jaja, con las otras 2 si concuerdo al 100
Sony no la quiso en el album, Michael tuvo que cambiar como 4 veces el album hasta que quedo el que conocemos.

This may the first time I actually love two versions of the same song equally. I appreciate certain aspects of the both. Like with the remix, I do like the 2014 sound, even if it's rather basic. It's just cool to hear MJ on an 808 trap-style beat. Too bad it's the only song they seem to have put any effort into. But this version is obviously superior, this is pure Michael right here. The beat, both the drums and melody, is so infectious, it's constantly stuck in my head. Honestly, this whole song is stuck in my head quite often. Definitely my favorite unreleased song and I really wish MJ had released this and made a short film for it. It wouldn't have been too out of place on Invincible, really. And it just would have been great to have a modern (at the time) take on the classic Michael sound among the track list and especially as a single. One last mind-blowing video.

@@ale2978 I know, which makes it much easier to swallow. I read about his feelings on working on the song and album and man... This should have been MJ's last great short film. "You Rock My World" is great and all, but, in my opinion, the album Invincible should have been titled Xscape with this as the lead single. No other song sounds like this.

This was suppose to make the cut but Michael Stated that he was under Sony Record Lable and he had to make Fresh Hits to fit the modern-day during the recordings i believe it was in interview so don't take my word for it,Xscape would've been the Next 'They Don't Care About Us' except he expresses his anger towards the Media and Tony Matolla(how ever tf you spell the wicked mans name)

@@damme91 true but it lacks a theme, MJs earlier albums didnt rly have one either but after history and blod on the dnacefloor i was lowkey expecting more. only 2 or 3 songs on that album are songs he wrote.

I think it's one of his up with his best off the wall and dangerous. The only issue I have with invincible Is that some sounds sound generic they don't have mjs signature sound
