    How is the bass fishing on that lake? I heard it's all about trout/salmon there?

    What power of a rod do you like to use? I just moved out to the area on the Idaho side further north (I'm a lucky dog!), I'm going to build a dropshot rod but not sure if I should go for a 6'10" ML (1/16oz to 3/8oz) or a 7' M (1/8oz to 1/2oz). I'm assuming the unfortunate answer is "both", lol.

      If I only had to choose one, I tend to go with the heavier setup because it’s more versatile. Optimally, the ML would probably be a
      better dropshot rod, but the other could be a dropshot rod, as well as a possible tube/blade bait/shaker head performer as well. Just depends on what you want to do :)

      FHC Outdoors That's what I said when we got on the water. and they were chewin! Crankbaits and swimbaits. I thought I was gonna ha e to drop shot or C-rig all day, but was pleasantly surprised when they were eating moving baits.

    Do you think that these same techniques could work at Coeur d'Alene in mid-February so around this time of the year?

    • @FHCOutdoors
      @FHCOutdoors  7 років тому

      Bryce Powers you bet! Dropshot works year round. I would try to find bigger rock this time of year though!

    • @ThePow6r
      @ThePow6r 7 років тому

      FHC Outdoors awesome! Because rocks hold more heat? Thanks! Im just trying to figure out if the lake will be iced (parts of it) or not.

    • @FHCOutdoors
      @FHCOutdoors  7 років тому

      Bryce Powers Well water that deep is warmer than the top of the water column, and bass love structure. Put those two together and it's helps your odds!

      ZaygonHD you asked how the pike fishing was here in the CDA (Coeur d'Alene) area, and I said interesting.

    • @ZaygonHD
      @ZaygonHD 7 років тому

      Huckleberry Rock Fishing and Outdoors how's it interesting?

    • @HuckRock13
      @HuckRock13 7 років тому

      ZaygonHD if you aren't using steel leaders and you aren't going with a spinnerbait lure, it gets interesting because as soon as you cast in the water, pike have a habit of biting you off clean.
