  • SEB Student Cafe: Episode 4 - Jehuite & Quelite: weeds and useful plants in Mesoamerica was recorded on February 29, 2024. The speaker for this cafe was Professor Heike Vibrans.
Heike Vibrans currently serves as the Society for Ethnobotany (SEB) president and works at the Department of Botany, Postgraduate College, Mexico. Heike does research in ethnobotany and traditional agriculture, particularly on secondary vegetation, weeds and invasive plants.
The SEB Student Cafes are a chance for students to learn and discuss specific areas of ethnobotany with experts whose careers focus on that area. These discussions are organized by the SEB Student Committee, and their goal is to broaden students’ perspectives and understanding of ethnobotanical work, to better inform their own research and career trajectory, and to build a professional network within their areas of interest.
To learn more about SEB and other recordings visit www.ethnobotany.org and choose "Education & Outreach" and then "SEB Virtual Events and Recordings."
