I wholeheartedly agree. I had some of the deepest and most meaningful conversations with my friend Yegor from Kazakhstan. He had the English vocabulary of a 10 year old but we sat for hours each time, deciphering what the other way saying. Languages make the world cool and interactive.

I ran into a Russian dad waiting on his son in the gas station I use to work at and he didn’t know a lick of English but seen I was native and asked me “Indian” and I replied with yes and he was all hyped and had the kindest soul I told him “ have a blessed day” when his son arrived and his son translated it and in English I hear his dad too the next person he sees “have a blessed day” shit was so cool cuz at the end of the day language may separate us but at the end of the day we’re all human and genuinely just wanna be kind to one another

I think if it wasn't for propaganda, peoples all around the world would someday understand that we're all just the same kind. And love each other unconditionally. My biggest dream is a world without political boundaries on the map.
The way I always think about it is, the governments are the ones that are the “bad picture”, and most of the citizens are just like the people who are good to you in your own country. It’s just a shame that the government’s actions are seen as what the people themselves will do. Russians are very nice people, as are any other nations’ people, the government’s actions to another country just paints it bad 😔

I have interacted with many English learners over the years (from Japan, Korea, Kazakhstan, etc.) and no matter their level of English proficiency, they all know how to effectively use “Nice, bro!”. There’s just something so funny and magical to me about “bro” being a universal word.
He already knew what it meant and how to use it, that’s what he gave the dude the equivalent in Russian, he just couldn’t remember how to say it. Happens all the time with some of my friends, or even I. I’m friends with a bunch of people from Mexico who hardly speak English, my mom never taught me Spanish, so I had to learn on my own. Sometimes I know exactly the point I’m trying to get across, but can’t remember the word in Spanish, so I’ll ask them like hey how do you say “blah blah blah” in Spanish? And they’ll tell me, and I’m just like this dude. Almost like oh yeeeeeah, how did I forget!

I am Slovak (Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, Slovaks, Serbians, etc... are all Slavs so we understand each other at least a bit) and learning english to this level i am at now took me a very long time, about 10 years. I started learning it in kindergarten. That was mainly because of how the spelling, grammar and just... everything is significantly different
I love seeing them work through the language barrier.
If only the world can work through more barriers than just language and achieve peace :(

I am Slovak (Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, Slovaks, Serbians, etc... are all Slavs so we understand each other at least a bit) and learning english to this level i am at now took me a very long time, about 10 years. I started learning it in kindergarten. That was mainly because of how the spelling, grammar and just... everything is significantly different
