I'm actually for once wholeheartedly convinced this is better than the licensed figure, Sideshow went WAY too light with his color palette but SooSoo have absolutely nailed this and my favorite mutant is definitely getting ordered for my shelf.

I would love to get this one too. What is the price range and where would I find one of these at? I’m pretty new to collecting but I need everything lol any help pointed me in the right direction would be very much appreciated. Glad I preordered this months ago when comparing both Gambits. This feels like the superior version over the SS one and given SooSoo Toys rep I felt good about doing that PO before final production units hit the market. Only 3rd party figure company I’m willing to PO early on. Great review and posing Justin!

This one is So So Good !!! I hope they make a Rogue figure from x- men in the yellow spandex jumpsuit with a seamless body and the same style jacket as gambit but then a short version .

Wow, what a beautiful figure. I just got done watching your cyclops video and seeing this gambit and wolverine and cyclops standing side by side put an even bigger smile on my face. Not trying to take away from those other x-men figures you have but this one..takes the cake. Truly a work of art.

Thanks for the review! I really love the head and hair sculpts on this one, but I prefer everything else on the Sideshow. Hoping I can pick up aparted out SooSoo head to put on the sideshow figure.

Thank you for doing this review! I was wondering about which version of Gambit I liked better but this review helped me decide on this version. I think my least favorite aspect is the trench coat because of the material but I'm a doll seamstress so I'll probably sew him a cloth version. Otherwise this Gambit is perfection! ❤❤❤

I got this guy from Tnsfigures, I did not hesitate because I believe he is going to sell out fast, he looks way better than the Sideshow version. I wouldn’t sleep on this figure unless you are willing to pay ebay prices.

Just received it today and concur with Mr Justin 100%! My first 3rd party figure and couldn’t be happier - I’ve been into only official license because of quality standards, fit and finish, etc. This is truly an incredible figure. More like a work of living comic art! Simply amazing.

I almost bought the Sideshow 1/6th scale Gambit, until I saw the SooSoo Toys version and realized that it's far superior in comparison. In fact, I ordered the SooSoo Toys version last night and I can't wait for it to arrive. As a whole, the SooSoo Toys version looks way better, especially when it comes to the head sculpt, which is spot on accurate in terms of how Gambit appears in the comics. I like both hair pieces, especially the one with the wavy hair. The chest armor and trench coat have some nice texture work. The trench coat itself has a nice worn look to it and I appreciate the fact that it's wire framed. The Bo Staff looks good. I love the card throwing effects as well. The figure comes included with a lot of interchangeable hands, which is a huge plus. The fact that Gambit also comes included with a full deck of playing cards is rather impressive. Articulation is limited due to the chest armor. I also love the box art as well. SooSoo Toys knocked this one out of the park when it comes to the overall sculpt, paint application and details. They've done Gambit justice with this amazing piece. I'd love to see them make figures of other X-Men characters such as, Wolverine, Cyclops, Cable, Magneto, Bishop, Rogue, Jean Grey, Jubilee, Psylocke, Professor Xavier, Beast, Nightcrawler, etc. With that aside, thanks as always Justin for another wonderful video. I greatly appreciate the continued hard work. Keep it up!

When I click on the tracking number it still shows that the order is being processed and that it's being prepared for shipping via DHL, even though it says that its been shipped on Comicsanctorum's order page. Does it usually take a long time for an item to officially ship out?
This absolutely blows away Sideshow's effort. It's only January and it's unlicensed but this'll likely be on many collector's Top Tens by the end of the year. If you have this and MAFEX's figure, you're pretty much set when it comes to Gambit.

Excellent review! I know I'm late to the party on this one, but I finally pulled the trigger on this guy (found for a decent price) after watching. Just pre-ordered Rogue and I hope that SooSoo gets to all the 90s X-Men. By the way the Sideshow Cyclops in the comparison shot looks like something ToyBiz would have released in the 90s!!!

@Justin's Collection ... When I came across this figure on Comic Sanctorium site, I had to have him. Mine is suppose to arrive Monday. I'm overly excited and glad you did a review of this one. I love look of it better than the license figure. Guess it's a preference for many. The level of detail taken. Down to extra accessories. The spiky hair sculpt is a win over the license figure. SooSooToys is making a good name for itself. Keep on this road, they might knock out the competition. LOL And, this version is reasonably priced. Did notice the price is creeping up slowly. It was at $178. I got it for $189. Now, it's 191. Not sure what that is all about. People jump on it now before it goes up some more. I don't think anyone would be disappointed.

This is amazing. I wish someone would do a comic-accurate Daredevil red costume with this quality. Every modern DD is either some form of black or yellow suit version or the Netflix version. The only thing close to what I want is the Hobgoblin wave Marvel Legends figure that is hard to get and expensive.

I love it..Gambit is one of my favourite XMEN...still waiting for that Channing Tatum Film hope they do it..but since its under Disney ..cant hope for borderline Rated R version of it

Sideshow for me has the better card power accessories. Has the cards visible in the pink effect. Where the soosootoys doesn't. Can't even put them into that effect (miss for me). Sidehsow also has the better staff being metal. Apart from that, soosootoys hands down the best figure (most important). Great review and although I am not a fan of xmen. I do want this company to extend this line fully.
They each have their benefits I guess!
The SooSoo Gambit is EXACTLY how he should look if they do a legitimate X-Men live action movie.

Amazing figure. However, I can't help but stress about the material they've used for the inner clothing. I have applied oil on the coat, should I also apply conditioning to the trousers and inner sleeves? Is it worth it to take off the coat and apply oils to protect the pleather on the sleeves??

Nice review..Did you notice whether or not if you're able to insert the cards into the "throwing energy blast" [at time 13:51], it almost looks like you could take one of the cards and insert it into the clear "card silhouette"

I have an update regarding the SooSoo Toys Cajun Card Dealer 1/6th scale figure. I just received the figure today via DHL. It took a while for ComicSanctorum to ship it and it took even longer for it to clear customs in China. Though, the long wait was well worth it. The box art itself is gorgeous. In person, the figure looks amazing. The head sculpt is perfect. I really like both hair pieces, which have been sculpted really well. The wavy hair piece has a nice sense of motion and flow. The outfit looks great, even though it utilizes a fragile faux leather (pleather) material. Gambit comes included with a bunch of interchangeable hands. In fact, I've never seen a figure come with so many of them. The accessories have been nicely done. However, the hands are a bit difficult to swap out because of the small pegs. I was lucky enough to be able to order a figure for myself. As of today, the figure has sold out everywhere, which is unfortunate for those who missed the chance to get when it was available. Otherwise, thanks once again Justin for the great video. I really appreciate the hard work!

One thing I find funny about these unlicensed figures: there's a lot of "pro" collectors, who berate people that buy knock-offs and reproductions of licensed products, but their entire collection is full of unlicensed figures. :D
Oh I just say buy what makes you happy, let companies sort out the legal issues themselves

In my opinion, the fact that it's not an "official" figure, doesn't take away from the fact that soso toys did a way better job. "Official" or not, there have been a lot of figures that aren't licensed that are better than licensed counterparts. Just depends on what the consumer considers best for their collection.

I have mine coming from Toyswonderland. It should be here any day now. I currently have the Sideshow version and even though it's been getting a lot of hate from some collectors, I personally enjoy it alongside the other X-men figures. However, in the photos, SooSooToys version of Gambit definitely looked superior and couldn't let this version slip through my fingers, especially if he's as limited as everyone says he is, at about 450. I'm so happy you made that comparison between Sideshows version and SooSooToys, even though it was digital. That was very helpful for collectors looking to decide which version to get just based on looks. But, like I said, I have Sideshows version and happen to think it's a great figure. The jacket looks great on SooSooToys version, but I think I prefer Sideshows version in the long run as that pleather material will degrade over time. The material for the pants also concern me. I hope whatever material they used, it lasts just as long as Sideshows fabric material for their figure. Overall though, I'm excited to have this figure coming to my collection. Time will tell if I end up selling Sideshows version or even this one. But if SooSooToys ends up creating the rest of the line, I may just end up keeping both 😉
