Agreed. I wasn’t able to go full term and become a mom that way. I married a man with three children. I have 6 beautiful grandchildren and would lay down my life for them any day. Blood doesn’t make a family, LOVE does.
I have a family member that will not have anything to do with her alleged grandson because she don't think he is hers and my reaction is we invest time in fake ass friends and disloyal men why not in a child that can possibly be yours. I wouldn't miss out on anytime

Exactly. Steve should make these women stand too. I saw an episode where he interviewed the woman sitting down the whole time. She admitted to starting a lot of the physical altercations, as soon as the guy was called out, then he had them both stand. He should’ve had her stand from the jump.

On occasion, I'd say possibly its needed, if he's been absent and the child doesn't know him - that should be supervised initially, but as a matter of getting to know them in order to work up to regular contact.
Supervised contact is advised when: the parent has been abusive and is a violence risk or can try to instigate parental alienation, the parent is a kidnap risk, the parent has a drug issue or the parent has been so absent in the child's life that a gradual introduction with the help of a specialist is deemed best (particularly with special needs kids)

I think this particular sister was there because she wanted to know if that was her nephew before she starts doing stuff for him like, buying clothes, pampers and spending time with the kid. Especially since neither of the parents are educated or have a job the source of financial support would come from the sister and other family members. No one wants to financially support someone who is not related to them through blood line.
