That’s the thing! There are meds and therapy to help her if she really is depressed or has a personality disorder. And for her to say she doesn’t want to admit it because of the stigma is BS. There are stigmas about being fat and being gay that don’t bother her. And no one in her life would shame her for treating her depression. Her mother is a recovering addict for God’s sake. And when she said she may stop doing the daily weigh ins and tracking them I wanted to sleep her. Girl…it was working! And it was showing you where you messed up. A tool that holds her accountable? She can’t have that!!! Time to bail. Again.

A lot of people think they are “cured” after a month or so of taking meds, it’s a mental illness and it can make you think things that aren’t true aka meds can “cure” when in reality it’s a treatment that’s on going, I say as someone who had a hard time taking meds for years and now I’m on a consistent regimen and realize how much it actually effects me going on and off on and off again and again!!!!

I'm starting to feel the same. It'd be one thing if she was taking steps to get some awareness or try to find a baseline that's not despondent, but her track record of messing with her medication, not taking therapy seriously, or just flat out quitting in the middle of the work without allowing it to get to the point where it's maintenance instead of in the thick of it is so frustrating to watch. Especially since the mental issues always end up affecting her physical state as well. I'm currently reading the book Maybe You Should Talk to Someone after attending therapy for three straight years. I've been taking a break from it for the last six months due to finances, but after reading it, I'm planning to go back again for at least monthly appointments and prioritizing setting the money aside. Also, highly recommend that book if you haven't read it!

Yes this bothers me so much because I take a medication that doesn’t have a generic yet and it’s such a fucking hassle to get. Without jumping through a bunch of hoops it’s 5 THOUSAND dollars a month and almost every month it’s on back order so I miss like a week of my meds 😭😭😭 what I would give to just be able to have my meds
I have a feeling her "manic" is just her delusional state, and her "depressed" state is just her getting a taste of her own reality. Notice she never goes on about what is wrong it's because she caused it. She isn't depressed, shes facing the full consequences of her actions and that makes amber sad.

As a certified cat owner (who’s being crushed to death as I type this with my Turkish Angora laying on my neck/chest), cat food on the COUNTER next to the STOVE is not normal!!!! 😭😭😭 The stove is super dangerous for cats (both if it’s in use and they can burn their feet, or if it’s off and they can accidentally turn it on when youre gone if your stove doesn’t have a child’s locking function) My guess is that Amber doesn’t cook (only does take out) anyways so she’s not worried about the cats messing with the stove while it’s on, and as you said, doesn’t want to bend over, so she’s just free feeding them dry food…… I am not surprised 😢😢
As a one time owner of cats and dogs at the same time, putting the cat food high to keep the dog out of it is normal. Agreed that on the counter next to the stove is a bad idea. Overflowing bowl so they can free feed and not fill it as often also a bad idea. I believe in KY the cats were fed on the cat tree.

As a life long cat owner…I would never put my cats food bowl on the kitchen counter next to the stove. I want cats as far away from the stove as possible at all times.
The apartment is definitely ada compliant that's why it's a front loader because she has said she can't reach into a top loader. The issue is that there are not enough people to repair washers and dryers anymore. They're so cheap and so cheaply made that if they break you're just encouraged to buy a new one instead of trying to fix it. I know someone who had their washer break and they went to a big box store where they bought it to schedule a repair and they told her it was a 3-month wait.

I have a history of severe anxiety. For years I avoided medication. There are long waits on the NHS (UK) for therapy and even then you only get 6 sessions. I couldn’t afford to go private. In the end I did try medication and it has been life-changing. I still have anxiety but it’s much easier to manage. I have no sympathy for someone who just stops their medication and can afford to pay for counselling and doesn’t yet spends a fortune on meals out and Lego. She is a serial whinger. I’m amazed that Zach is so gentle on her considering her lack of responsibility for her own health.
Her dryer has been broken for almost 4 months and you mean to tell me that the apartment complex could not go take the working dryer out of the other apartment and replace it with hers? Naaaahhh.

But then again, I USE my stove to cook and Amber uses her stove to pile take-out box garbage. So I doubt her kitties are in any danger, thankfully.

She made a big deal a few months ago about being on ZERO medication. Therapy wait times are insane now days even if you find someone, so if she continues to have so many bad days, why is she so adamant about not taking medication to help herself? I truly believe that she doesn't want to get help for her mental health because she likes to use it as an excuse for her mistreatment of others, like when she called Destiny on livestream and said that she treated her badly because of her mental illness. it may be a factor but it doesn't excuse her abuse against her partners, and she needs it to excuse that.

A few months ago, I had to start putting my cats food on the counter because my dog was constantly eating it.I used to keep it on my desk but they're such messy eaters ( they take the food out of the bowl and then eat it on the table top, lol) that I got tired of the cat food being spread all over my workspace. However, I put it on a specific counter that's separate from the rest of my counters where I prep my food and they're learning that it's the only counter they're allowed on. On the cat food thing- I know some people who have the food up there, while my cat is free range and has a feeder on the floor next to the counters but for ALR I bet that she has them up there so Twinkie won’t eat it. She probably has Twinkie on a schedule while the cats are more free range- the cat food being high up would make it easier.
As a person with cats, cats near the stove give me apoplexy so I wouldn't put their food anywhere near a stove. What if they burn their paws. Oh my god! No.
Back when I was tracking my mood to see if I had any routine fluctuations (as I was being assessed for mood disorders), a day where my mood was "okay" or "good" were given an up arrow on a small calendar. Bad days, where I felt sad, irritable, or noticed that I was over reactive got a down arrow. If I had a day that was mixed, I simply put both arrows. Tracking days like this can be helpful if you're ACTUALLY tracking to look for (for lack of a better word) data - say, fluctuations around your menstrual cycle, or during certain seasons or anniversaries. With HER, though, this just feels performative and something to "do," you know? I feel like she wouldn't have enough awareness to continue this long term and look back to try to find any REAL trends.
Step one is not trying to lose weight. That won't happen Before she gets therapy for her narcissism. Only then she can expect some progress for weight loss.
I just want to offer a different perspective. When my mental health is really bad I don’t want to do anything to take care of myself, I don’t want to take my meds or reach out to therapists, I can barely get out of bed. It’s like I actively am making myself worse off and I know I’m doing it but I still can’t keep myself from doing it. It’s so hard to pull yourself out and take care of yourself. She may have ample resources but if she’s not in a good place she may not want to help herself or have the energy to do it. Also I’ve been reaching out to so many mental health professionals recently and have even worked with my doctor to find one, and it is HARD to find anyone. No one has gotten back to me. It shouldn’t be that way but it is 😅

Long-time cat parent. You are right, we gotta keep the kitties AWAY from the stove!! I have mobility issues but I can still bend…if I couldn’t, I would get a low table. But then again, I USE my stove to cook and Amber uses her stove to pile take-out box garbage. So I doubt her kitties are in any danger, thankfully.

As someone with BPD, she makes me ashamed. She has serious victim mentality and uses BPD as a blanket so she doesn’t need to take accountability for her toxic and abusive behaviour. I know many people in my family who are the same. She can get help at any time. She deserves to be shamed. No one should ever feel bad for criticizing her. She preys on that because well “u can’t b mean 2 me.. I have MENTAL ILLNESS.” She fails to understand that it most scenarios SHE is the abuser, not the victim. I’m gonna need this woman to just get on psychologytoday and find herself a new therapist. She needs to finally stop her cycle for her own good. I know she hates actually working on herself and probably can’t bear the thought of actually getting to the root of her issues but it’s literally for her survival. If she wants to d!e then fine, but own up to the fact that you don’t care about how soon it happens, gorl. I know that probably is awful to say but she’s BEEN in a place where it’s either work on herself or expire young. She needs to accept she won’t do well at first but she can’t just give up whenever things get hard. I believe her washer and dryer are samsung. Samsung appliances need to be serviced by repair techs trained by Samsung. I can't remember if it voids the warranty or if they're just that crappy to work on but more than likely the maintenance guys were waiting for a tech to work on it.
I have a kitty & she’s never even been the type to jump on my counters or anything besides the sofa or a chair. I can’t imagine her walking all on the kitchen counters with tiny litter box paws & fur flying everywhere. She has her bowls on a mat in the kitchen but has just never even attempted that so thank god..But to each their own, I guess! 😂
She made a big deal a few months ago about being on ZERO medication. Therapy wait times are insane now days even if you find someone, so if she continues to have so many bad days, why is she so adamant about not taking medication to help herself? I do feel bad for her but it’s exhausting to watch an adult claim to have so much insight about themselves and then just sit around and do LEGO and crafts and wonder why nothing gets better.

its frustrating to hear her say all she can do is "ride the wave" about her depression. she works her own hours and her job is just doing whatever she wants to do. so many of us have mental health issues and no matter what still have to go to work anyway and we don't have the money to get help. she does, and she has before. I truly believe that she doesn't want to get help for her mental health because she likes to use it as an excuse for her mistreatment of others, like when she called Destiny on livestream and said that she treated her badly because of her mental illness. it may be a factor but it doesn't excuse her abuse against her partners, and she needs it to excuse that.
I would understand the depression part of her video and how she could hardly get out of bed and that's why she couldn't upload but homegirl is dancing on Tiktok and posting on Instagram.

A few months ago, I had to start putting my cats food on the counter because my dog was constantly eating it.I used to keep it on my desk but they're such messy eaters ( they take the food out of the bowl and then eat it on the table top, lol) that I got tired of the cat food being spread all over my workspace. However, I put it on a specific counter that's separate from the rest of my counters where I prep my food and they're learning that it's the only counter they're allowed on.

On the cat food thing- I know some people who have the food up there, while my cat is free range and has a feeder on the floor next to the counters but for ALR I bet that she has them up there so Twinkie won’t eat it. She probably has Twinkie on a schedule while the cats are more free range- the cat food being high up would make it easier.
Keep in mind I believe all her pets are over weight and only Twinkie has been put on a diet, her cats over graze

Back when I was tracking my mood to see if I had any routine fluctuations (as I was being assessed for mood disorders), a day where my mood was "okay" or "good" were given an up arrow on a small calendar. Bad days, where I felt sad, irritable, or noticed that I was over reactive got a down arrow. If I had a day that was mixed, I simply put both arrows. Tracking days like this can be helpful if you're ACTUALLY tracking to look for (for lack of a better word) data - say, fluctuations around your menstrual cycle, or during certain seasons or anniversaries. With HER, though, this just feels performative and something to "do," you know? I feel like she wouldn't have enough awareness to continue this long term and look back to try to find any REAL trends.
Step one is not trying to lose weight. That won't happen Before she gets therapy for her narcissism. Only then she can expect some progress for weight loss.
I just want to offer a different perspective. When my mental health is really bad I don’t want to do anything to take care of myself, I don’t want to take my meds or reach out to therapists, I can barely get out of bed. It’s like I actively am making myself worse off and I know I’m doing it but I still can’t keep myself from doing it. It’s so hard to pull yourself out and take care of yourself. She may have ample resources but if she’s not in a good place she may not want to help herself or have the energy to do it. Also I’ve been reaching out to so many mental health professionals recently and have even worked with my doctor to find one, and it is HARD to find anyone. No one has gotten back to me. It shouldn’t be that way but it is 😅

Zach I have cats that are fed up high because dogs lol 😆 they would eat all the cat food if it was on the floor. Mine are fed on top of a shoe rack that has an area on top where they can stand and eat! Maybe just me but have had cats and dogs my entire life and the cats have always had to eat up higher than the dogs
I will say, my sister puts her cats food on the counter for him to eat but thats only so her husky cant get to the food or bother the cat while he is eating.

What Amberlynn is calling "depression" most likely is the perfectly normal emotion of sadness. Throw in boredom and....there ya go. If in fact she IS clinically depressed, she should be regularly taking her meds and talking to a therapist. Just my opinion.

Hi zaccchhhh lol I’m a cat and dog parent, and I have my cat bowls on the counter next to the sink lol! It’s pretty normal, but my reasoning is that my dog will eat her food if it’s on the ground, so maybe that’s what ALR has her bowls up high because Twinkie may eat the cat food if they’re grazers!
