I want to protect my brain the best possible, obviously get what you’d an afford & save up for that nicer helmet later on, all depends on your head type. Thanks guys for the info as always
One thing I can’t find anywhere is comparison of shell sizes when wearing (say the bubble head category). Maybe something for you guys to include/comment in reviews. But since I’m here, which one is more compact when on: AGV sportmodular, Nolan 100-5 or HJCs. These are different categories, but just trying to tick as many boxes as possible. Cheers!
My opinion: both of the guys are great hosts for the show, but each one of them have a different vibe... Like, together they are less than the sum of the parts. Give each one of them their own show is what I'm trying to say
I think being able to eat pizza while riding is a special superhero talent. I don't think i could do it. Taking a sip from my zippy cup, maybe. Thanks for posting. Lots of good choices here.
I have the Arai XD4 and regret it, should've gotten the Krios Pro. You need a tool to remove the peak and/or visor. The small parts are easy to lose and takes forever. Even though it has a Pinlock option, you can't use it because the curve of the visor is too extreme for a good seal.
I had my airflite for 1.6 years. It's pretty loud for me, wind noise so loud it'll infect give me a headache. Its also quite heavy, it'll easily give you neck pain & shoulder pain after a few hours of riding. Wouldn't recommend for long distance riders.
I have a scorpion exo R1 air it's a really good helmet there is a pinlock system included in the box and 2 visors 1 tinted and 1 normal, the visor is really easy to change. The inside is washable and it looks really nice.
Just added a AT9050 to my collection of helmets. It's far more comfortable and way quieter than my HJC IS MAX II. The internal shield pokes out about 1cm when retracted, and it will catch the wind with the roost visor on on the highway. Other than that it's a great helmet with pretty much every feature you could want.
I am a relatively new biker (1 year), and I have 3 helmets already (1 full, 1 modular and 1 open, low/mid price ranged), and I am looking these helmet videos, and thinking about getting a new one, not because I actually need one, but because I wanna try them and see if they are maybe better than my current :) Am I crazy or what? Do you guys switch helmets often, and what do you do with old ones?
Motolove! Love my own yamaha. Always putting up the good stuff like Delta Parole, Metallica, Alice In Chains and others when I am working on her. Moto is life
For the longest time I had my wishlist the stealth air flight rubatone. The reviews though said it got weird. But it can’t be that bad if that many people have it. I’m torn between these theee feel free to comment some help. 1. Stealth MIPS Airflight Rubatone 2.Simpson Ghost Bandit. 3. Shoei GT air 2 or 1400
Do you all have a video going through some of these types of riding styles. Why you pick one helmet type over another in what situation? I’m like ok street, dirt, understood, wait what are these other categories??? I guess one was for racing, one was blended style?
You don't have to remove the shield to use goggle with the AT-950. Source: I own one and have closed the shield over goggles. It works, just flexes the goggle strap.
I’ve had two helmets with visors and they are so incredibly useful. It’s also nice to be able to pop it down and pull the face shield up so you get a nice bit of air to cool off but still have some wind protection for your eyes (great if you wear contact lenses).
AGV K6 would be another great option over the Shoei RF-1400. Lightest helmet in its class, carbon aramid, both DOT and ECE rated. Don't get me wrong, the RF-1400 is a great helmet but it seems that it was only an incremental change over the RF-1200.

Good alternative, an in my opinion a much better option is the Bell MX-9 Adventure Mips. The only reason people buy the AT-950 is because its a modular.
@@jibjibmonkeyman99 The MX9 has been pretty close to the top of my list, but it worries me that it's a very noisy helmet very poor sound insulation. I ride with ear plugs, but with cardo comms as well, so I need that balance between keeping enough sound out and letting enough in.

Bums me out that only cheap helmets get MIPS. Hopefully some ECE 22.06 helmets come out soon. Rotational protection seems like a huge gap in current offerings.
Bell Star (just Star, not Race Star) gets MIPS. Definitely a notch or three above the budget stuff. Some of the outgoing graphics are on closeout right now.
@@DownforceInc I guess I forgot about them because Bell helmets feel terrible on my head. When they were the only ones I could find with MIPS, I thought they'd be my first helmet, but they don't fit my head well.
Scorpion is so underrated. The EXO-R1 is such a great bargain for a track helmet. My EXO-R1 Carbon that I ordered from Europe only weighs 2.64 lbs, has ECE cert, titanium D-rings, free dark smoke visor, etc. I didn’t even know about their racing cred til I saw Fabio wearing one in MotoGP. The quality is fantastic and the US version should be available soon.
Brent Bandy I think it would do great. I use mine on a KTM 1290 Superduke and that thing is a hyper naked, so no front wind protection like a cruiser and it is fantastic at higher speeds. No wind buffeting and vibrations like my old HJC CL-17 on the highway 😎.
Finding a helmet that fits was the hardest thing I did it took me 3 months of trying especially because my country doesn’t have a wide verity off helmets also not all manufacturers have real intermediate oval shapes I tried the same size and the same head shape in different brands and they were completely different one fits like a glove the other gave me a headache just from wearing it once.

I want to protect my brain the best possible, obviously get what you’d an afford & save up for that nicer helmet later on, all depends on your head type. Thanks guys for the info as always
Have the AGV SportModular. Love it.
Ditto, though it is the loudest helmet I have ever worn
There has never been a better all around helmet for me, than the HJC Rpha 70
One thing I can’t find anywhere is comparison of shell sizes when wearing (say the bubble head category). Maybe something for you guys to include/comment in reviews.
But since I’m here, which one is more compact when on: AGV sportmodular, Nolan 100-5 or HJCs. These are different categories, but just trying to tick as many boxes as possible.
Cheers!
I prefer the Arai Defiant and Defiant X they fit me better than the Shoei.
I actually have a pair of early 90’s The Pump Basketball shoes right now…..that’s funny LOL
My opinion: both of the guys are great hosts for the show, but each one of them have a different vibe... Like, together they are less than the sum of the parts. Give each one of them their own show is what I'm trying to say
I agree, I looks as if they are desperately interrupting one another for the viewer's attention.
Agreed. As I'm watching this I'm thinking No way these two are drinking buddies...
i agree
At least Anthony was honest about being an untrustworthy salesguy
Ryan from FortNine has spoiled us, and he has ruined all the other channels completely. I actually feel bad for all the other channels.
I have the bell race star flex dlx and I love it.
Spurgeon, why are you always shouting? I have to turn volume up to hear the others and then turn it down when you speak.
haha, well I would assume he hasn't been wearing earplugs for many years and is hence somewhat deaf.. In his own mind, he's whispering!
Currently watching this whilst breaking into a new helmet I just bought
I bought my first helmet and I realized just how cartoonishly large helmets are XD It fits great, so im happy👍
Searching for a new full face helmet because the windnoise in my Scorpion Exo 1200 '' Air '' is crazy. Oh, the irony is in it's name.
GREAT video guys. Super helpful. Thank you!
Drop down visor, and a quick release strap are a must. And really should be on every helmet, since they don’t add much to the cost
Just got me a Shoei rf1200 after 2 yrs of having a AGV k1 . Wish I went with shoei earlier
SeventyFive Carbon “Sailor” is mine.
Those Reebok's worked, too.
Arai rx7 v thanks.
Had them since the early rx7 111 they fit me so well.
If money is not a problem, which is the best/safest helmet?
1. Stealth MIPS Airflight Rubatone
2.Simpson Ghost Bandit.
VERY NICE VIDEO SPURGE THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
Shoei GT Air is a better helmet, because of the added benefit of a Drop Down Visor.
HJC RHPA 11
How good is Royal Enfield helmets?
Any chance of updated reviews on the best open face helmets?
We did consider open face for this video, but had to trim down a bit unfortunately. If you are in the market for a solid open face, feel free to contact our Gear Geeks to talk best options for you and your ride. 877.792.9455 or cs@revzilla.com and they can walk you through some solid options.
0:40 toping out at 700? I just dropped $1800 on a AGV Pista RR...c'mon guys. (Id flame me for that comment but im just saying these lids can get COSTLY and you dont illuminate that by saying they top out at 700.) Keep up the great vids guys.
What leather jacket is he wearing on the snipets of the Scorpion exo-ri air. Looks so nice is it alpine stars? Can’t find it anywhere
Scorpion is underrated
I wonder what the metrics for this "best helmets" list is..
@patrick henry it seems so... How can the Airflite be considered a good helmet??
@@HerrKatzen It can`t. It`s good only in price for all these budget helmets.
@@Peter-976 these guys are totally biased...
Imo a SNELL rated helmet is the best choice
@@jase1911 you should check the FIM helmet certification standard, it was introduced last year, I think. SNELL dates back to the 1950's... It is a bit outdated
doctor that saved my leg was from africa. he raced the africa desert races. he said my head would have been crushed on the hood with a shoei and to "stay with agv." ill take his advice
Next Nexx have a good look at these helmets guys brilliant .Portuguese Made . Regards from Edinburgh
Always look forward to these vids each year/season
Arai Regent-X Helmet
Little disappointed to see a helmet that only has a DOT rating make a best of list, Scorpion AT950. . Hell it can't even be sold in Australia.
@@MchalesNavy Yes it is a bit noisy but it's not painfully loud especially if you have a cardo or sena installed. I would recommend getting the jbl 45mm speakers if you want to be extra safe.
Even can't be sold in Australia. Means they have higher safety standards.
Modular = facial reconstruction surgery when you crash
Hey hey! I've been having a terrible time finding a full face helmet, my head is to big, even Cycle Gear could not believe it! Said I was the first ever their biggest helmet wouldn't fit lol I got the hjc i10 5xl would not even start to go on my head, tired of buying and returning, maybe there just isn't one out there for me. HEEEEELLLLLLP lol thanks guys!
Accessibiltity is the real question
Bums me out that only cheap helmets get MIPS. Hopefully some ECE 22.06 helmets come out soon. Rotational protection seems like a huge gap in current offerings.
A SNELL rating is waaaaay better
Bell Star (just Star, not Race Star) gets MIPS. Definitely a notch or three above the budget stuff. Some of the outgoing graphics are on closeout right now.
@@DownforceInc I guess I forgot about them because Bell helmets feel terrible on my head. When they were the only ones I could find with MIPS, I thought they'd be my first helmet, but they don't fit my head well.
Dieselman not true. Snell doesn’t test for rotational impact. Watch FortNine videos about ECE, Snell & FIM testing.
I’m struggling to decide between the shoei neotec 2 and the agv sport modular any input I could get from owners of either or both helmets?
I'm in the same boat, trying to pull trigger on one tomorrow. From what I've researched the Shoei seems better all around.
How’s do you think the EXO-R1 would do on a cruiser? I try looking at other helmets but I keep coming back to the R1
That icon is looking sweet for the price no wonder it sells so well
Finding a helmet that fits was the hardest thing I did it took me 3 months of trying especially because my country doesn’t have a wide verity off helmets also not all manufacturers have real intermediate oval shapes I tried the same size and the same head shape in different brands and they were completely different one fits like a glove the other gave me a headache just from wearing it once.
